    Ok so this is the area of my build where I'm currently at and can't figure out what type of DSP I need 4 or 8 channel I am going to have two amps a sub amp and mids and highs amp four door speakers and either two or four tweeters just to start with and learn this being my first build I'm told it's better to have an independent amp for the tweeters but to save money for more expensive things I'm going to piggyback the tweeters like the OEM setup but anyway with just two amps wouldn't I just need a 4 channel like the one in the video I have had a few people say I need a channel for every speaker that can't be right can it

    • @Countryboy8270
      @Countryboy8270  3 месяца назад +2

      So you really don't have to have an independent amp for your tweeters and mids, it definitely helps, but you could just run mids on Channels 1/2 and tweeters on 3/4 you'd just have them on two different channels on the DSP. That way you could control sub amp, mids on one channel, and tweeters on one channel. I always recommend to get the 8 channel just in case you ever want to add an amp. Never know when you want to have more audio 🤣

      I could use this with the 4 outs going to a 4 channel amp powering 4 door speakers, or the same with 2.8 then I would have 2 outs for the sub amp?
      Well that would be 6 but I didn't see the 2.6 so I just said 2.8, is all this correct ❓
      Thanks

      Always go with more channels when investing in a dsp. Four doors = 4 channels when inactive, 6 channels if rears are not components and running active in the front, 8 if rears are components and running active. Then leave 1-2 channels for subs and possibly leave one channel for center depending on the install.

    I might make a video showing and explaining the “limiter” part of the DSP.
    Seems as if nobody talks about that feature when doing a review.
    It’s a great feature to use once you understand.
    Great video though :~)

      limiters are only needed by people who dont know how to set up amp gains/levels , which is a lot of people unfortunately ............recorded music is already "limited" , only really need limiters in live music , with live microphones and instruments etc................. prv is the only company (car audio) to put limiters on there audio equipment , its to correct/protect people who dont know what they are doing............thats about only use for it

    hey good video, but it would be amazing if you went into more depth. I just had the PRV Audio DSP 2.8 installed, but the only change I was able to make was switching it from mono to stereo output, which is a little better but not the massive improvement I was hoping for. Whenever I adjust the Graphic EQ, no matter what settings I change it to, I cannot detect a difference in the audio whatsoever, I'm wondering if I need to have knowledge about my amp and how much power is being used and all this, but I just had all my components installed for me and I dont know anything about my setup. Right now hip hop music sounds passable/good but rock/hardcore or anything with atmospheric guitars is clearly not as crisp as it needs to be.

      @@Th1sCantBeReal so I have a gain setting video on page, and I'm about to do a crossover video also later this week. Just gotta play around with the presets and really find out which one you like the best. But setting your gains and crossovers correctly will definitely help improve sound quality

    I was excited when I seen this video because there isn't much out there. after watching I was disappointed, you didn't really explain much, you show what you have your set on but for example the gain, you can't just petit on 10 and expect it to work with everyones system< how did yogurt to the -10 setting, by ear? or by using a tool as oscilloscope or and meter? you have to set baed off where does your system clip, and maybe I'm wrong but you didn't even sy where its set on the amp itself, all the way up and then use your dsp? you need to st it on your amp using such tool I motion and then fine tune it on dsp or, for this you need to find where your headhunt clips, then you can set your gain on amp, then make sure it not clipping when your turn uo to volume on head unit at your lipping point< if you are then adjust gain on dsp, I was really hoping you went into detail on what someone the setting are like the perimeter input and out put, limiter because I can't find video on that info and I don't know, id like to know what its actually doing when I change settings. oh and if you use the presets on dsp then you don't need mess with anything because it just did it for you don't go and adjust everything then pick a preset as all your custom setting go away. dsp and using preset is silly to me but I'm not professional ,I'm just self taught from installing my own system after paying to have it done wrong. not trying to hate thanks forsaking your time to do video, just be more educated on it or do better explaining stuff if you are educated, sound like a dick but not trying to be

There was a few definitions between this video and the 2.8 video that could go the wrong direction for people. The more you learn the more they learn equaling better and broader fan base
