I don't follow the juniors so when y'all were saying Sunisa was gonna take on the world and then she was lackluster her first couple competitions I thought everyone was delusional about her but here she is being the best all arounder in the world after simone right now. Alejandro Vergara Nationals was her first comp this season where she competed in the AA. She had been injured and only doing bars and beam all season before. Even UB and BB she was competing sans dismount, and just doing a simple flyaway/layout
That triple double gets better every time she performs it, she is truly something else. Although i must say that i really, really like Sunisa and Kara's routines as well! Go Team USA 😻
Okay, that triple-double is such a cake walk for Simone that the ease with which Jade does her straight double-double almost gets lost in the shuffle; not to mention Mykala's as well. Think about it, though; five double-doubles, two straight double-doubles and a triple-double, all on one team.
remember that Biles first pass was a Moores (layed out double twisting double) that she executed with ease and a ton of height....this is why she can do a triple twisting double...she is every bit as high as guys...she is incredible
At this point? Dont forget Rio qualifying 10 points and winning 8 points ahead of 2nd place. When it was historically separated by 10ths. They are just so far ahead. In truth, once USA truly got a program together and took it more serious they have progressively just gotten better, caught up, and surpassed everyone else. It is almost hysterical. You're right

I’m so used to seeing gymnastics on TV from the overhead view. This 1st person floor camera angle really allowed me to see just how insanely high and horizontal Simone’s leaps are! 🤯🤯🤯 ... and she has the nerve to calmly land all that energy with relaxed precision. Simone doin’ Simone things. 😅🙏🏼💙😎

RaganSmith Gymnastics I love MyKayla but I don’t think that she will make the final 4. She is not consistent and she has injuries including falling off of the Beam during this practice in Germany. I read today that Simone is retiring after the Olympics. This was during an interview with her.
Mylesa Stinnette Mykayla’s skill set is also one that is in the same genre as Jade and somewhat Simone. Very powerful, high difficulty on both VT and FX. She doesn’t add anything that the team is lacking in, which is why they’ve gone with Grace Mccallum instead who is stronger on BB and UB. Myk just happens to not be the ideal fit for this team, though I hope she keeps training and makes it to the Olympics next year!
Remember when all the medals went to Russians? I do. They gave the gold to a Russian after a vault even the commentators said she didn’t deserve. They gave her a perfect 10 after she stumbled.
Skinner should’ve been competing over grace. Myk should’ve done vault and floor in QF and maybe beam. Myk probably would be used in TF only on vault but she could get a really good score with her Cheng and I don’t see why Kara couldn’t do bars in TF over grace because Kara is a lot better on bars because she beat grace at world selection camp. TF lineup should’ve been VT: Myk, Jade, Simone UB: Kara, Simone, Suni BB: Kara, Suni, Simone FX: Jade/Myk, Suni, Simone. Grace should’ve been ALTERNATE

i wish they'd let her do her floor routine in qualifications over Grace. In the end it didn't really matter who's routine was 4th as the score would be dropped anyways, but i like Kara's better

Kara went a 14 on bars with the routine of her life, Grace went a 14.641 with a mediocre routine for herself. Mykayla adds roughly 4 tenths to the team total, Kara looses around 6.
Is it just me or does simone always get the biles 1 + stag connection in her podium training but never in competitions? I feel like her floor routines are always more controlled here but maybe that's just me
I hope they let Skinner compete so they can see how she scores on the world stage. I commend her for the work she has done but I'd rather see someone else on the Olympic squad next year. This will be a good test. Finally, I hope Lee takes it all.

I haven’t been able to pay super close attention this year for the selection team. We know Simone will be there for sure but can someone tell me what’s going on with Hurd? I haven’t seen much of her and was really hoping she’d make the team
Blonde Rose I really do hate picking on Jade, but there’s just something about her execution that bothers me. The girl has got some serious skills, but the way she goes into everything always seems a bit off. On floor it’s the way she moves, it’s like she’s just going through the motions. Her tumbling difficulty is there, but the dance and artistry isn’t. Beam, same thing. Her vaults are high in difficulty, but she drives me crazy on her Amanar. She use to be short on power, they made an adjustment, and now she has too much power. Jade definitely needs to find that middle ground. As far as bars, nothing really spectacular. This all put together is what’s giving people pause to think that they might make her the alternate. There’s 3 girls who could easily be sitting on the sidelines.
Jade is very stiff on all events, she seems very nervous. In her dancing, in her tumbling, she’s very powerful and talented and executes things cleanly but she does so very stiff which makes it look a bit more odd. When you compare it to other gymnasts like Riley Mccusker, who always add that little extra pazazz and finesse, it tends to look a bit more unnatural.
Based off of Podium Training Yesterday I still have no idea who will be the alternate. And how will they choose who sits out the Floor Rotation at Qualifications??? I'm soo confused cause all 6 of those girls are incredible
I just now realized something....Simone has never had an injury, has she? I don't mean like a sore ankle or something, I mean like, needing surgery or something she had to withdrawal from a competition because of. At her age, and level, that is unheard of.
I know I’m 2-3 years late, but it’s true, Simone has not had a major injury which caused her to miss gymnastics quads. All of Simone’s breaks from gymnastics was all intentional with her wanting a break. It’s insane, SHES INSANE!!!
@@srazul1072 Jade is a guaranteed silver on vault and floor so I doubt she'll be off the team (and even if she doesn't, she'll still score better than Skinner). The US can win with either MyKayla or Grace, so it's up to the coaches. For me, it would be McCallum all the way since she can go up on all 4 events in the TF.
See, I think when the floor is harder, and not so bouncy they can tumble and land much better. Some of them actually have complained about that when the floor is too bouncy. Don't blame them, cuz in this video they were all amazing and executed perfectly.
I think it will be SKinner over McCallum. They can use Skinner on VT and Floor and the extra scores shw could bring are higher than what Grace can contribute on Bars by replacing Kara. Both Kara and Grace score in the low 14 while Skinner is up 0.5 over MCCallum on VT only.

@@brenden6218 i think we think to much in the team spectrum Right now it's not important how to place the individual gymnasts to get the highest team score possible (bc usa is on top anyway) but to place the gymnasts in a way that gives the best chances for as many individual medals possible Biles will be on every event Lee is safe on bars and possibly beam Eaker is a medal contender on beam Skinner and carey have both chances for silver in fx and vt McCallum has some problems lately but she has the highest d score on bars (out of eaker, skinner and carey) so I would pick her as a back up instead of skinner because carey scored higher on fx and vt and also prooved consistency The two per country rule still exists so the third placement doesn't really hurt anyone except the gymnast
People still thinking Carey's and Skinner's floors are so much better than the other girls'. Have y'all seen the competitions this year? Both Kara and Suni have beaten Skinner and Carey this year. Their floor doesn't add that much because they're heavily deducted. They're really only being useful on vault and not even that much. MyKayla's cheng has been consistently only 0.3 higher than Grace's DTY and grace actually adds more than 0.3 on bars so IDK about people claiming Grace is for sure the alternate

Blah Blah She will change it again for Tokyo. I’ve watched her since 2013, she changes her music every year. That “oh!” sound effect was added the year before Rio. She makes tweaks here and there & this is no exception. If she keeps this music (which she won’t most likely) I hope she changes the coin sound to the Mario Bros coin sound. 😂 Or music from something totally Japanese with a spin on it.
the US jus needs to improve on artistry ,the only artistc gymnay i think the US has had is nastia ,the only artistic routine i saw was Sunisa,,,keep these feet pointed but do they have the big skills yes
I think Eaker’s routine is very artistic- expressive, matches the music, and she finishes all her movements completely. Hurd isn’t here but all her routines have been beautiful as well. Definitely wish Americans as a whole would focus a little more on choreography, but there have been very artistic ones besides Nastia (Maroney, Larson, Hernandez, Ross, and I’d even say Biles with her 2014 routine)

All incredibly done...my only critical comment is outside of Biles, the music selection is poor, very lackluster and certainly doesn't scream original. Heard all the music before. There is no personality. Music is a very important component of a floor exercise and their boring selections surprise me because there is nothing unique about them with the exception of Biles. Her music really is different from any other gymnast in the world and expresses her personality in a very unique way.
pappysprite I somewhat agree...I like Suni’s music, it sounds a bit like Japanese strings and fits her choreography. Jades music 🗑🚮 ugh 😑. She moves slow the music makes it WORSE. And don’t get me started on GRACE and that Aly Reisman music they’ve been using since 2011. I caaaan’t!!!!!!!!

Out of all these, I enjoyed Skinners the most. She is used to, and good at, performing for a crowd. And her tumbling is great. Overall the entire team, the choreo is a bit predictable though. Could do with a tad more artistry and drama. Missing seeing Hurd for that.

Im not a fan of mckayla skinner i feel theres no growth there she is doing the same boring recycled choreography from her last olympic trials just doing it to different music .... Annoying an her tumbling is amazing but ccommon the same 4 passes u have always done try to push urself to do more difficult look at simone if simone can do it anyone should
Um... Two of those passes are new. The front tuck walkout to the full in and the triple full. As for her choreography, well a lot of gymnasts repeat similar routines. Simone's choreography and musical scores have basically been the same since 2013.
Amazing tumbling...you've got flippers, twisters, and flipper/ twisters. If we can get picky for a minute: (1) explain the floor music and "choreography" to me. It's awful. Kara's is nice and continuous, almost telling a story. I don't understand the rest; (2) love Sunisa Lee, but wish she would not flap her wrists! Straight arms! (3) I will start paying USA Gymnastics to remove all wolf turns (especially multiples in 1 routine) from floor. They're the worst. Please, someone, make them go away...or downgrade them in the COP

Fantastic tumbling but the most enjoyable routine was from Eaker. Beautiful artistry, music and best of all, no wolf turn(s)!!!

JoJo 70 it’s still the two per country rule when competing. Even with Individual qualifiers. So they cannot sweet podiums.

I haven’t been able to pay super close attention this year for the selection team. We know Simone will be there for sure but can someone tell me what’s going on with Hurd? I haven’t seen much of her and was really hoping she’d make the team
Did jade look kind of iffy on this floor routine? Her landings didn’t look as clean. Everyone else did a phenomenal job
Blonde Rose I really do hate picking on Jade, but there’s just something about her execution that bothers me. The girl has got some serious skills, but the way she goes into everything always seems a bit off. On floor it’s the way she moves, it’s like she’s just going through the motions. Her tumbling difficulty is there, but the dance and artistry isn’t. Beam, same thing. Her vaults are high in difficulty, but she drives me crazy on her Amanar. She use to be short on power, they made an adjustment, and now she has too much power. Jade definitely needs to find that middle ground. As far as bars, nothing really spectacular. This all put together is what’s giving people pause to think that they might make her the alternate. There’s 3 girls who could easily be sitting on the sidelines.
Blonde Rose Jade did better during practice. It’s a strong team.
Jade is very stiff on all events, she seems very nervous. In her dancing, in her tumbling, she’s very powerful and talented and executes things cleanly but she does so very stiff which makes it look a bit more odd. When you compare it to other gymnasts like Riley Mccusker, who always add that little extra pazazz and finesse, it tends to look a bit more unnatural.
Based off of Podium Training Yesterday I still have no idea who will be the alternate. And how will they choose who sits out the Floor Rotation at Qualifications??? I'm soo confused cause all 6 of those girls are incredible

I just now realized something....Simone has never had an injury, has she? I don't mean like a sore ankle or something, I mean like, needing surgery or something she had to withdrawal from a competition because of. At her age, and level, that is unheard of.
I know I’m 2-3 years late, but it’s true, Simone has not had a major injury which caused her to miss gymnastics quads. All of Simone’s breaks from gymnastics was all intentional with her wanting a break. It’s insane, SHES INSANE!!!

@@srazul1072 Jade is a guaranteed silver on vault and floor so I doubt she'll be off the team (and even if she doesn't, she'll still score better than Skinner). The US can win with either MyKayla or Grace, so it's up to the coaches. For me, it would be McCallum all the way since she can go up on all 4 events in the TF.

See, I think when the floor is harder, and not so bouncy they can tumble and land much better. Some of them actually have complained about that when the floor is too bouncy. Don't blame them, cuz in this video they were all amazing and executed perfectly.

I think it will be SKinner over McCallum. They can use Skinner on VT and Floor and the extra scores shw could bring are higher than what Grace can contribute on Bars by replacing Kara. Both Kara and Grace score in the low 14 while Skinner is up 0.5 over MCCallum on VT only.

Right now it's not important how to place the individual gymnasts to get the highest team score possible (bc usa is on top anyway) but to place the gymnasts in a way that gives the best chances for as many individual medals possible
Biles will be on every event
Lee is safe on bars and possibly beam
Eaker is a medal contender on beam
Skinner and carey have both chances for silver in fx and vt
McCallum has some problems lately but she has the highest d score on bars (out of eaker, skinner and carey) so I would pick her as a back up instead of skinner because carey scored higher on fx and vt and also prooved consistency
The two per country rule still exists so the third placement doesn't really hurt anyone except the gymnast
People still thinking Carey's and Skinner's floors are so much better than the other girls'. Have y'all seen the competitions this year? Both Kara and Suni have beaten Skinner and Carey this year. Their floor doesn't add that much because they're heavily deducted. They're really only being useful on vault and not even that much. MyKayla's cheng has been consistently only 0.3 higher than Grace's DTY and grace actually adds more than 0.3 on bars so IDK about people claiming Grace is for sure the alternate

My quick observation....Suni's rings on fx are sweet. Grace is holding her own. Jade keeps getting better. Kara is cat like but had a little trouble with her landings...oh well. Lol. Blah Blah She will change it again for Tokyo. I’ve watched her since 2013, she changes her music every year. That “oh!” sound effect was added the year before Rio. She makes tweaks here and there & this is no exception. If she keeps this music (which she won’t most likely) I hope she changes the coin sound to the Mario Bros coin sound. 😂 Or music from something totally Japanese with a spin on it.

I think Eaker’s routine is very artistic- expressive, matches the music, and she finishes all her movements completely. Hurd isn’t here but all her routines have been beautiful as well. Definitely wish Americans as a whole would focus a little more on choreography, but there have been very artistic ones besides Nastia (Maroney, Larson, Hernandez, Ross, and I’d even say Biles with her 2014 routine)

All incredibly done...my only critical comment is outside of Biles, the music selection is poor, very lackluster and certainly doesn't scream original. Heard all the music before. There is no personality. Music is a very important component of a floor exercise and their boring selections surprise me because there is nothing unique about them with the exception of Biles. Her music really is different from any other gymnast in the world and expresses her personality in a very unique way.

pappysprite I somewhat agree...I like Suni’s music, it sounds a bit like Japanese strings and fits her choreography. Jades music 🗑🚮 ugh 😑. She moves slow the music makes it WORSE. And don’t get me started on GRACE and that Aly Reisman music they’ve been using since 2011. I caaaan’t!!!!!!!!
pappysprite They’re so good, they should have professionals doing music mixes for them at this point. Totally unique that fits each of their personalities.
Out of all these, I enjoyed Skinners the most. She is used to, and good at, performing for a crowd. And her tumbling is great. Overall the entire team, the choreo is a bit predictable though. Could do with a tad more artistry and drama. Missing seeing Hurd for that.

Ok... yes acro stuff is solid BUT the Choreography is lacking - its all very same same and functional rather than artistic . I’m Missing those past days of beautiful routines. Also FEET !!
Im not a fan of mckayla skinner i feel theres no growth there she is doing the same boring recycled choreography from her last olympic trials just doing it to different music .... Annoying an her tumbling is amazing but ccommon the same 4 passes u have always done try to push urself to do more difficult look at simone if simone can do it anyone should
Um... Two of those passes are new. The front tuck walkout to the full in and the triple full. As for her choreography, well a lot of gymnasts repeat similar routines. Simone's choreography and musical scores have basically been the same since 2013.
Amazing tumbling...you've got flippers, twisters, and flipper/ twisters. If we can get picky for a minute: (1) explain the floor music and "choreography" to me. It's awful. Kara's is nice and continuous, almost telling a story. I don't understand the rest; (2) love Sunisa Lee, but wish she would not flap her wrists! Straight arms! (3) I will start paying USA Gymnastics to remove all wolf turns (especially multiples in 1 routine) from floor. They're the worst. Please, someone, make them go away...or downgrade them in the COP
