    Konnor has some young Simone energy - tiny, really springy, quick, agile and a great performer. She has loads of potential and enough time ahead in her career, I really hope she can find a way to fight through her mental battles 💛

      I am glad that the American gymnastic women's team trained before hand to compete globally. If the passion is resonating in their performance, it would be rewarded as well as the technical skills: if the confidence of the competitors, while making the skills seem effortless and easy, the score will reflect it. Their support system will help each competitor to deal with stress, I recommend that if everyone believe in Jesus Christ and pray, it will help each competitor to deal with one's stress and weaknesses.

    ROUGH! Wishing these young ladies all of the success. However, the glaring issues are rooted in E scores and composition. As the "high performance coordinator" the onus is on Tom to discuss with coaches issues he's seeing with both and be adamant about some changes. Similar to Tom, of the 90s, he seems to be the man without the eye and a plan that works. The taishan floor wont be the blame for the hammering that is likely. Top that off with the fact that Morale, focus and a spark appears somewhat low for the exception of one gal. So much potential yet with freckles leadership

    • @CAnative64
      @CAnative64 2 года назад +14

      Very well said. I would add that the E score issues, overall aesthetic, presentation, technique, and execution issues, don't just come down to Tom having discussions with the coaches, etc. - AFAIK Liukin and his team are coaching McClain now, and then you have coaches like Kelli Hill and Armine Barutyan-Fong who have coached athletes in the past that have shown lovely presentation, execution, etc. (Elise Ray, Courtney McCool, et al.) - These three coaches alone, should have the wherewithal to see that the work that they are producing is substandard. Anyone who says that these athletes are inexperienced, and thus should get a pass on their E scores needs to sit this one out. - The athletes themselves are lovely, amazing, talented, brave, and dedicated. The results of what we're seeing indeed lie at the feet of the coaches and coaching staff. The bar has been lowered and needs to be raised again.

    Unless you have complete mastery of those wolf turns, it's probably not worth doing them. Every time you maintain balance by moving the arms and hands, it's a deduction. I think Simone got hit with almost a point in deductions at the BB event finals in Tokyo because of this.

    • @bluepanther1013
      @bluepanther1013 2 года назад

      Wolf turns can only get around a maximum of .5 deductions if the gymnast doesn't fall. Simone probably lost .1. She definitely didn't get almost a point.

    • @hydrosphere8447
      @hydrosphere8447 2 года назад

      Urazova isn't due to do AA though, nor are murakami or Rebecca so other than gelya as the big favourite the podium is pretty open for AA medals. Floor has probably 1 medal up for grabs, maybe 2, depending how murakami manages her ankle injury. I think space on the podiums will be quite dependant on how China fairs but they only have 1 gymnast in the AA as well.

    • @hydrosphere8447

      The 2 new seniors are good but mineava (doing AA) hasn't hit scores like you'd typically see on the AA podium. Apparently she's strongest on bars and has a good floor but shes also struggling with the equipment.

      @@markpurda most gymnasts take a break after the Olympics as it takes such a huge toll, which is why there typically isn't a worlds the same year and even the year filling the Olympics a lot of the big competitors take time off (like Simone did last quad). 1 worlds isn't worth burnout or risking injuries/not giving them time to heal in the big picture.
      Plus a lot of them just want to actually have some fun and they've earnt it! Also worth considering that tour is providing income, as will dancing with the stars, whereas worlds doesnt and they can't do both.

With the exceptional break out performance here/there, the USA will not come out on top this time around. Sunni Lee could've cemented her place in history by performing here, but I guess doing a show or collegiate gymnastics took precedence over this.
