    Great video. You have a knack of actually showing the product instead of just talking about it. Yours is the third review I have watched and whilst all three offer insights, your was the only one that put good graphics and pictures up that help us actually see the product. Also, no one else has mentioned the ability to change the face colour, yet that will be something that will have huge appeal to many people. Well done...also, can we have more of your van conversion videos please, I love that series!

    Thanks, Andy, for another great review! I am in the market as my current driver is seven years old. I was impressed with the forgiveness you demonstrated plus the great dispersion. For me, that is the key as I hit all over the club face. Definitely excited to try this one. It is always exciting to see new tech enter the golfing world, and this is completely different. Be well!

    An interesting review. It’s nice to see and hear a review from someone with a more ‘normal’ swing speed as opposed to the usual 290 yards carries etc. It gives a far better perspective. Good stuff Andy 👍

    Will definitely give it a test at demo day though its too pricey for me. I think its a clever concept with the bespoke face option to appeal to a bigger pool of golfers. Never a fan of TM drivers with the white or silver line tops, this is classy and color face looks a good contrast. Another great content n review Andy 👏

    Thanks Andy for another thoughtful commentary. I won’t be running to the golf shop for this one at a price point of $600-850 with stock configurations. As an average senior golfer, I am enjoying the benefits of Callaway’s 2022 Epic Star MAX with premium components and all the tech needed for control and great distance. For me light weight and quality are key, not convoluted color schemes and the marketing message of titanium’s imminent death. Cheers!

    Have seen 6 different reviews on this club, 5 say not much difference as far as performance, as for marketing they get an A+, I am looking to change drivers this year due to a swing change and my current driver has to much loft for this swing, I will probably give this a year or two on the market before I hop on the bandwagon. Good review though it is always good to see different people with different swing speeds and different swings to get a better understanding of clubs. Thank you.

    Because of this new technology and the looks of this driver I would definitely want to hit it and give it a test which is exactly the reaction Taylormade is hoping for I'm sure. I'm more interested in how it sounds and feels but I can't imagine it performing any better than my current two year old driver. Not $500 worth anyway. What interests me more is seeing where this technology is going over the next 5 years or so. Is this a sign of things to come for all drivers? Great review as always Andy.

    I will say this. I had a chance to hit it 5 times when I was playing a round with some friends in Mexico. Loved it so much, bought one a week later in almost the exact setup as my friend has. Only difference is I went with a 6.0 flex instead of a 6.5. I loved it so much that I didn't even want to try out any other models.

    I will absolutely be getting fitted for it. I have the SIM. My only issue with it is that I absolutely HATE the white outline on the club. I love the look of the TM 300 mini-driver with the black top (and NO white outline). Alex Etches demo'd this club and said that it looked exactly like the TM 300 mini but bigger. THAT is what I want. I don't even care if it doesn't outperform my SIM. Just the different look will be worth it for me.

    I am a 67 year old high handicapper. I had the Ping G400 Max in the bag. I decided to buy a new driver and tested the Ping G425, Callaway Rogue ST Max, and the Taylormade Stealth, all with a 10.5 degree loft. I had no preconceived notions about what I wanted. I have an incredibly slow swing speed, around 70 mph with a driver. I hit all three and the Stealth was typically abut 10 yards longer for me. All were similar in shot dispersion. I bought the Stealth and am quite happy with it for now.

    If one checks you will see that staff tour pros are all now playing the Stealth plus driver.
    This indicates that the move from the SIM/SIM2 drivers is an easy one without much need to adjust due to significant differences in spin, launch, speed, looks, or feel/sound.
    And that is good for them as TM can advertise that they have changed...so it must be better!....Not...just easier to transfer as not much in differences.

    It will be very interesting to see if CarbonWoods take over in the future and how this new face technology benefits Average golfers.
    I have never really been a fan of TM drivers, they have always looked too blingy for an old fart like me. But I have to confess that the Stealth looks awsome, striking a good balance between classic & space age👍👍
    It would have to offer some pretty major performance gains to make it into my Bag, but if TM are looking to sponsor an Old Fart I'm open to offers🤣🤣

    The weight saving with the carbon face vs. a titanium face means even more weight can be redistributed for increased forgiveness. I was waiting for the release so I could pick up a cheap SIM2, but I’m tempted by a Stealth now! More fairways would mean more greens in regulation according to my current stats, and ultimately that would mean lower scores, so I have a decision to make!

  • @chrishartney
    @chrishartney 2 года назад

    Give it a black or dark grey face and it will look stunning. I would be intrigued to know how well the face will last and if it begins to degrade. Does it progressively wear, or does it simply fail in one catastrophic event?

  • @jcgolf159
    @jcgolf159 2 года назад

    Nice editing. Love the duality 😏 Keep doing that and maybe use it a bit more throughout the fairway chats; it's fun, unique, and allows you to just swing the club while chatting with us..elsewhere. Oh, and definitely has a coolness to it as well. A word that pops into me head is "Boss" 💥👊 About the Stealth: it's also cool and I'm a sucker for red. Last year I did the MySIM2 all blacked out with red accents. The Stealth look is amazing but when I do the trade-in value thru TM online on a less than a year old driver I only get $300CA, a loss of $600CA+. So with this in mind, I'd fancy a Stealth in my bag this year but as my driver is already red I'm going to pass. The new retail costs of golf equipment are past ridiculous unless you consider 3 year old versions, used versions, or the 'complimentary' brands available versions. In essence, TM's trade-in value on my less than a year old driver confirms it is maybe worth a reasonable price of $400 max. So to me the Stealth is "Deadwood" based on price and actual functionality compared to the PING G400 MAX kept in my 4th golf bag set up ✌ 🥃 ⛳

    This forgiveness is a big selling point for sure. I can be all over the clubhead sometimes. When you do that you try to adjust and I often make a bad situation worse. I am not particularly interested in buying a new club, at this time, but if there is similar distance with significant improvement in dispersion then I might have to change my mind.

    It will be interesting to see how the carbon face puts up with impact wear and tear. I’m sure TM have done extensive testing, but, Carbon Fibre and the more over the resin systems used are not necessarily best placed to deal with multiple high speed, low surface area impacts. TM R&D better be right.
    Otherwise very striking driver, but at £500 it’s expensive

    Great video Andy. I think simply the name TaylorMade will attract golfers to give their drivers a hit. But if you add the Tiger factor that will it only increase the attraction. While the technology looks interesting my game and the price will keep it out of my bag. I have Ping G400 Max driver and honestly don’t have a reason to change it at this point. I have watched many videos of this driver and it works well for faster swing speed to get faster ball speeds, but does it work for slower swing speed players to get the faster ball speed. I have always felt that callaway jail break stiffens the head too much for slower swing speed players and we can't generate enough power to make the face flex. I was wondering if this new carbon face is too thick for slower swing speed players to get the face to flex and get benefits in extra ball speed.

    All testers seem to really like the Stealth drivers. The question may be durability. Did TM do destruction tests, hitting the face so many times with a robot that it either wore out, broke or lost its pop? And will the polyurethane layer with the grooves and microgrooves wear out or separate from the carbon face? But performance appears to be excellent. As always, the cost versus the gain one can realize in carry will be an issue.

    • @ianburton9223

      @@edanzore But the ball does not touch the carbon fibre. Between the carbon fibre and the ball there is a "polyurethane" layer that is essential to controlling the ball launch characteristics. How fast will this layer wear out, and what happens when it does?

    EDIT: I've been playing golf for around 18 months and I've learned that it's not the tool, it's how you use it. From the help of this channel I'm now shooting in the mid 80's every round and I actually recently shot +1 through 9 holes in the middle of winter whilst the course was in horrible condition. Even shot an eagle on a par 4. SO, thanks bud for the help.

    If as you say it helps with dispersion it's on to a winner with me but I'd have to hit a hundred balls with it to make my mind up looks very good

    Interesting. Curious to test. Seems like all drivers today have reached their limits as far as spin and distance gains. I think it almost boils down to what driver feels the best and performs the best for you. I play with many people who have much older drivers in the bag than I currently game and they out drive me every time. Good review though. 👍👍

      COR is maxed out meaning no more ball speed from a centre strike. But that doesn't mean you can't make gains from off centre strikes and from maxing out launch and spin off the clubface with both perfect and imperfect hits. Andy even showed this at 5:18. To achieve 2178 rpm of spin from a hit that's 11mm down from centre is incredible.

    Great review: However buying a new driver based on what top name Pros use, not a good idea...They play those clubs because they get paid for it...Now if you are in the market for a new driver because your old one is wore out..then by all means..But my driver a Cobra F 9 in the hands of a Pro will get 325 yards, so for me there is still room to grow and invest my money in some new shoes....Taylor maybe some day down the road....will be checked out...but not some time soon...Thanks...

    Andy!. Would you say the Stealth is suited to mid-high handicappers in terms of forgiveness? . Just trying to figure the relation with these drivers. The Sim was sort of the general use driver and the sim max the low spin less forgiving variant right? Therefore assuming the stealth is basically this years Sim and the stealth + is this years Sim Max?....if that makes sense 😂...I've never had anything new golf wise and I just really want this club! good marketing or what 😂

    • @TheAverageGolfer
      @TheAverageGolfer  2 года назад

      So for me the Stealth plus is for the better player and the Stealth offers greater forgiveness, so in theory for the masses, but I would try both and make sure this theory works out for you, either way good luck

    As long as the MOI limit is in place (for amateur golfers), how can any club maker really make "game changer" drivers?

    • @jameskeen3321
      @jameskeen3321 Месяц назад

      Okay way out of date so i apologize but no one had answered so i figured i would
      Two restrictions on clubs 1.) volume is 460 cubic centimeters 2.) the maximum coefficient of restitution (cor)is limited to 0.83( this maximum energy transfer the sweet spot can deliver)
      So what are they doing to make clubs better. 1.) while volume is limited moi isn’t strictly so moving larger masses to extreme parts of perimeter increase moi drastically. The lighter you make every thing else the more weight you move back
      2.) if we stiffen the center of face we can create a larger area of high COR which means bigger sweet spot. Since golfers tend to his certain areas of club more than others we can target those areas to have higher COR. This is where AI comes into place. It can analyze large amounts of data then optimize how face stiffened to strategically target area of most likely mis hits
      Hopefully you found this helpful
