You arent the only one who feels this way and while im sure youve gained a fanbase of being "the yoshi guy" youll build more of a fanbase just by growing into that "tekken guy"! Ill say as a bryan main we always need more content creators for our character! Pro wise, we have TY who is a great player but post very limited content. GWD post great short mid form videos touching on a lot of small details but he has a language barrier and limited time despite being a great creator. Jon does a ton of shorts but its just shorts and vibans videos are hours long 😅 bryan needs a standard content creator and tekken has so much depth to it that this is just growing pains as an improving player! Cant wait to see what you do dude!
Just wanted to pop in the comments and say thank you for the yoshi content. Your videos are helping me learn the character a bunch. Whenever I personally get discouraged about yoshi, I look up EyeMusicians match vs. JDCR (Dragunov) in T8. I know that's a bit misleading because EM is EM, but I think it helps me learn about the top end of yoshi. Regardless of what character you pick, I'll be here, so best of luck and keep up the great content.

And yes, theres a lot of other Yoshi content creators out there but they dont have your passion and your charisma, your entertaining personality :). Id be tuning in for when you play Lidia coz I picked her up and now trying to get her to where my Yoshi currently is. Yoshimitsu been my main since T6. I personally like his T6 and TT2 version best. He is stronger now in T8, but overall T8 is just too "agressive" for my taste, doesn't fit my playstyle as much for how I like to play Yoshimitsu.
Yoshi main here same rank as you I too went thru what you’re going thru which is called a character crisis. Now if you leave that’s completely your choice and i get the inconsistencies cause I’ll get hoed too especially fighting someone better than me but that all takes time You’re free to explore and see what you like. You might find someone new or you might come back to yoshi either i support your journey of self discovery
the video could have ended in 1 minute when you said you don't find it funny anymore. A real shame, surely he will also be nerfed because half the community is crying that he is too broken. with this obviously it doesn't mean that you won't use him anymore but that you will use him less. I'm curious about who you will bring after him and I hope it's one of those that I like ahhaa (Lee, Raven, Steve a bit of Lili and in the future I hope Lei Baek Armor king)
100% Armor King, another is Steve whom I'm looking into as well, but for now, I'm testing out Lidia, tbh I'm looking to play just everyone I can find, that I'll play equally until Armor King comes up 😉
honestly I don't mind yoshi's change of direction but what irks me the most was always med stance, it used to be good bait, but it feels like it's lost it's purpose outside of grey health, I used to think it was one of this best stances but I'm barely using it anymore his combo routing feels weird too, not having a fast instant reliable instant screw move has made things awkward, cd2 does still have purpose though and I'm finding good applications for it
moving on from being known for just 1 character into just a tekken player in general is a good call. never was here specifically because of yoshi specifically anyway. i just liked watching the vids

I've known about that move, but it's not the same and far too risky to pull off, but yeah you're correct. Not super interested in Jack-8 but I'll try him out in a video series of some kind if I start one👍🏼

I feel the same way about Raven. I believe they butchered him down from what Maven was in T7 and I mean I still like Raven. But I no longer like Raven anymore and I honestly believe Master Raven was truly BETTER than Tekken 8 Raven

I find it crazy that people play only one character, i always switch between yoshi, raven, rang, in street fighter 6 i got a couple characters i really like to master rank then just kept trying the rest of the cast and i have way more fun that way, i just don’t understand online warriors who have zero chance of going pro or whatever but still grind ranked with their main playing like its evo, its just gaming, have fun and try new stuff. I rarely even play T8 but when heihachi releases i might have to play a bit, but terry also releases soon in sf6 and he looks fun af so maybe not, anyway have fun thats the point of these games, play the way that makes you happy
I started playing Tekken basically I arrived from Tekken 6 I didn't play 7, even if the Tekken I played a lot was 5 so this Yoshimitsu for me was an incredible novelty, the problem is that I immediately arrived at Fujin and Rajin and from there I got stuck after 78 wins in a row I got stuck hehe
My problem with yoshi is that I don"t use samurai cutter since it's like 50% chance of you failing to execute it. Also I noticed that I don't use kincho stance since I also find it risky to use. I am a noob player, with max rank of Flame ruler, but I can clearly tell that some of his attacks are whiffing a lot, even the back down triangle triangle or back triangle triangle. Also, upper cut and rising knee have such a bad range. Everyone is complaining about Flash, but what about people who don't use flash?
Try qcb 1 when you are crouched. Faster and after you get used to it easier to use. You can even mix up df3, db2, 2..., uf2. You can even use it on wake up. qcb1 just before while rising state.
@@unimpatient df3 into crouched moves is so fucking fast and smooth it feels like an actual baked-in combo when you do it. I've mained him since T1, and yes i'm that old. If you don't use Yoshi flash, like AT ALL, you're a fool and its always been one of his best moves.

I watch all your content for all my yoshi tech and i agree with you, Its not like yoshi is going away and maybe later on while you're learning a new character and you come back, there would be new stuff to learn for him. you gotta spread your wings broaden your horizon and learn something new and fresh! i love your content and im excited to see what you're do next! maybe i'll see you at a tournament
One more thing this is why the character is being overrated by people. Yoshimitsu has great moves but is no way as powerful as people describe. And I think takes a considerable amount of consentnaiton compared to other characters in the game. Not to mention his moves whiff too often

@@DioRando98they know more about the competitive scene and pro play yes but alot of them don't know much about the character they're placing. Alto of the time they'll highlight certain moves in a vacuum but never touch on his weaknesses so they'll mention "flash, spin, combo damage, guard break setup". Only valid one being his combo damage, but even then the rest of his toolkit is so middle of the road or slow that he gets beat out by aggressive characters and play styles. Yoshi is a defensive character which is a hard play style to commit to in an overly aggressive game. For me if you're putting a character in top 5 that means these characters are perfect or damn near perfect and absolutely stomp everyone beneath them, Yoshi is the furthest thing from a perfect or dominating character. I guess the other aspect of it is they see him as a potential top 5 tournament character which is fair, Yoshi is a great tournament character since there aren't many opportunities to adapt and stop hesitating

If you're arguing with anyone you're arguing with people that could beat your ass in Tekken 8 probably every time, not me. Also to say that every pro doesn't know what they're talking about it's kinda wild. Me and arslund Ash have been playing Tekken longer than both of us combined. Knee has been playing since the first Tekken. If people like Knee can't convince you I'm very curious who would.
A lot of goofy changes that make me wonder if I'll even like Miguel if he comes back. Starting to play other games entirely because of the inconsistencies. Been Bushin, Tekken King, Tekken Emperor for like 4 months, which is fine. I'm not that good. When I clearly see I interrupt a move with a counterhit that should give me a combo and I just get a normal hit it's worse than losing.

yesterday lost 7 rounds due to d,2,2 whiffing at wall in a combo that been doing it since dawn of time. Same for the unblockable, I wait, they tech roll, it goes through their legs (rarely but happens) and get launched.
If you create enough space and go meditation, 1+2 move gives you a nice chunk of health and covers that issue where players won't aggro you just pointing it out
Thank you. Thank you for pointing out changes they made to yoshi because everyone seems to think that he’s just been buffed in “every way” and it’s not true. They nerfed his flash and other moves and that used to be unblockables but they also gave yoshi some new moves he didn’t have before. The new yoshis still better than the old yoshi (thank gawd) but he’s not better and buffer in every way. The old yoshi was weak and sucked.. the new yoshis a lot better and does more damage . They also nerfed his healing abilities but whose cares.. because everyone can heal
I agree man, I'm at a point that I not only feel less enjoying Yoshi, I'm less enjoying tekken, I don't even play ranked anymore because it makes no sense with what is happening, even in quick match people plug or don't want a second match. And everything you play against are Jin, Hwo, King, Kaz, Paul and some seldom Victors, Lili, etc. I like yoshi that he's so unique and has a lot of potential to troll people but it feels like they ripped him off in T8. Compared to other characters it feels like devs sprinkled all the roster with sugar & spice but yoshi got the leftovers. He got some new strings that are good but to be honest not that good in general because, just block high and respect yoshi. It's tiring to play against characters that can mix you the hell up and keep you starving on frames. Just block high on yoshi because all his lows are shit and only threats are samurai cut and d,f,3 from NSS. Yoshi literally has no threatening mix-up with some lows and stuff because if you get a low from yoshi well so what? plus everything he does gives up his turn, and you are bound to use just straight forward couple of safe moves that can be SS but, not many do. It's so hard to open the opponent because he can just poke you out of almost all your clown moves that you will try to fish for a whiff or confuse him. People keep poking me out of flea, or even dick jabbing samurai cutter. All his cancels are inferior to what other have, and people panic poke me or even launch me by just button mashing stuff. In higher ranks people just wait for you to chill out of your clowning and block high, and show you how useless you are, when they can mix you up into knockdown with guarantee follow-ups on decent damage, or wallsplats, etc. They can keep spamming stuff and stay, they can keep you guessing. In a game that conceptually shifted to more aggressive playstyle and all characters got more or less decent stances, great mix-ups, great move proprieties, great frames can just rush you down, while Yoshi being more defensive character you make his hurtbox shit, his SS is shit, even his b3, b4 evasive move is being tracked by some... Like I sacrifice my health to get out of the shit storm you are allowed to put me in, because not even flash works in some cases because you're in such -frames that they can follow up on a next launch, works only if you spot where to get it in-between some strings. And don't get me started on his inconsistencies in moves, so many times it just drops the combo for no reason. They just ripped him off, good tornado moves, good follow-ups, some moves don't even hit grounded anymore while you can clearly see it could, some unblockables, just for a couple of new moves and slightly more damage in combos. He needs: - Hitboxes fixed - Hurtboxes fixed - More mixing strings with good proprieties (db4 could have a mid extension into db4,1 with a punch, the 2d3 string could have a mid extension that leaves you backturned into some plus frames 2d3,1 allowing you to fish for a back flash or keep him guessing) and so many more, or 2,3 could have an extension into low spinning kicks by 2,3,db33333... sheeesh - Faster indian stance teleport animation - His healing back so you can provoke them - More strings with + frames (a bit more, just a bit) - u3+4 to be more evasive (because look at Victor) - more transitions in stances (you could go into flea from CD1 into CD1d for example, and if you launch you could follow with 1+2 or f2 into dragon and 2,4) and a lot of options to explore. - give him more CH potentials uuuughhh, sorry... I can go on and on... tired of this game....

I'll still stick around bro. I think i get it why you said he's not fun anymore. I loved yoshi in tekken 7 even when i barely won any matches he was just fun to play (which is the whole point of playing a videogame for me) but now that they done changed his whole fun setups he's more of a pain to play with. Sure they gave him damage. But now I gotta be one of the other sweaty mfs in the game to try and win or it's just "watch your character getting juggled in the air from wall to wall for 60 seconds straight". I don't even play Ranked anymore cuz it pisses me off so much when his moves wiffs.
You mention people dont watch your other characters videos as much as yoshi. i'm one of those people. personally i'm a yoshi main and this is my first tekken since tag. I dont know who tf Victor is claudio etc, they dont interest me at all
Bro CD2 NEEDS to come back. They did it with kazuyas cd1+2 so i can cope just a bit. Cd2 screw and qcf1 ender as well as old f1+2 were my top 3 favorite moves. But hey we can do d2,2,2 after d2,2 now its definitely not brainrot They just removed many fun moves only to replace them with generic ones that actually limit your options. Even the KIN d1 cancel that they brought in later... I was like "why even remove it in the first place that was one of the most fun moves to do". Tekken 8 yoshi just needs to be balanced and fleshed out. He just isn't as satisfying to play as he used to be
bro there are different ways to develop combos you don't have to do d222 d22. surely they can improve it in the future in terms of variety but I think that the work that has been done with this yoshimitsu has never happened in the history of tekken. Yoshi has always been a weak character here he is much stronger they have removed things but they have also added new ones
@solaswolfer1503 I reference d2,2,2 because that's what we got as replacement for cd2 and d2,1. Ofcourse there are other ways to do combos but 99% of the time you'll do a combo that uses tornado df1,2,1 or d2,2,2 because you don't even need harder execution for wall carry nor damage. His combos are now easy on top of doing much more damage. DGF 2,4 is also kind of uninspiring. It's basically the old DGF 4 that we used to do DGF 2 before that, made into a string but with less utility since you are now forced to do 2,4 which ads 1 extra hit and it makes 4 whiff, (and has worse animation, but that's just my opinion) Except the new 3,1 route every other option you have is basically a variant of his old basic tekken 7 combos just a lot easier, while at the same time not having access to his cd2 that would allow for instant tornado move that he now lacks and would allow more creativity. I've actually tested it because I used to love cd2 screw and there are many interesting combo routes with cd2 as tornado that actually take at least some execution and also look dope Also worth noting: -2,2 tornado is basically useless, -3~4 tornado also basically useless -flea 1+2 tornado also useless because f3+4 is no longer armor So they just changed his bound moves just for the sake of changing them. Like why would 2,2 that already has a ton of utility in neutral also do tornado while 2,3 has no reason to exist right now? It's just small things like that, that don't make sense. And to be clear I'm not completely shitting on the character, they made some good choices too but overall, skill floor is way lower, execution wise, and it kinda sucks because aside from visuals, he just doesn't feel as satisfying as he used to, I completely get that
I hear that man. It's like they don't wanna buff Yoshi cs of his" infamous flash", but really and truly. What most non yoshis players don't understand is the frame advantage over yoshi.
I've known that since t7 my guy (☞ﾟヮﾟ)☞, but seriously that's not the point of that topic. Healing gradually leaves you in a situation where the opponent has to react if they don't want Yoshi negating the dmg done to him. So it forces players to act.
@@delusional-lobo I mean it still does if they've chipped you. I think at that point if they're not coming after you they haven't realized you're recovering health yet.
@NeCoruption you are correct, but think of it in totality. You can also gain health back from chip by simply attacking the opponent in return. If I back pedal to heal off chip dmg when I could have done the same with just applying pressure, then, in a way, purposely giving the opponent breathing room to assess what to do next. It's somewhat similar to T7, but the threat isn't the same.

@@solaswolfer1503 Yeah, I just realized how and when to use flash. It goes well while doing manji and then bringing back sword, and you just wait for a hit to come your way. But it's weird because the learning process in tekken is really slow for me.

One more thing this is why the character is being overrated by people. Yoshimitsu has great moves but is no way as powerful as people describe. And I think takes a considerable amount of consentnaiton compared to other characters in the game. Not to mention his moves whiff too often

This is a link to a pro player by the name of Rangchu who asked other top players like Knee, Arslan and many more their top five and bottom three. Yoshi was consistently top five just saying.
@@DioRando98they know more about the competitive scene and pro play yes but alot of them don't know much about the character they're placing. Alto of the time they'll highlight certain moves in a vacuum but never touch on his weaknesses so they'll mention "flash, spin, combo damage, guard break setup". Only valid one being his combo damage, but even then the rest of his toolkit is so middle of the road or slow that he gets beat out by aggressive characters and play styles. Yoshi is a defensive character which is a hard play style to commit to in an overly aggressive game.
For me if you're putting a character in top 5 that means these characters are perfect or damn near perfect and absolutely stomp everyone beneath them, Yoshi is the furthest thing from a perfect or dominating character.
I guess the other aspect of it is they see him as a potential top 5 tournament character which is fair, Yoshi is a great tournament character since there aren't many opportunities to adapt and stop hesitating

If you're arguing with anyone you're arguing with people that could beat your ass in Tekken 8 probably every time, not me. Also to say that every pro doesn't know what they're talking about it's kinda wild. Me and arslund Ash have been playing Tekken longer than both of us combined. A lot of goofy changes that make me wonder if I'll even like Miguel if he comes back. Starting to play other games entirely because of the inconsistencies. Been Bushin, Tekken King, Tekken Emperor for like 4 months, which is fine. I'm not that good. When I clearly see I interrupt a move with a counterhit that should give me a combo and I just get a normal hit it's worse than losing.

yesterday lost 7 rounds due to d,2,2 whiffing at wall in a combo that been doing it since dawn of time. Same for the unblockable, I wait, they tech roll, it goes through their legs (rarely but happens) and get launched.
As a Yoshi main, I got a bit burnt out on him as well. So for now I'm running Nina.
If you create enough space and go meditation, 1+2 move gives you a nice chunk of health and covers that issue where players won't aggro you just pointing it out

Thank you. Thank you for pointing out changes they made to yoshi because everyone seems to think that he’s just been buffed in “every way” and it’s not true. They nerfed his flash and other moves and that used to be unblockables but they also gave yoshi some new moves he didn’t have before. The new yoshis still better than the old yoshi (thank gawd) but he’s not better and buffer in every way.
The old yoshi was weak and sucked.. the new yoshis a lot better and does more damage .
They also nerfed his healing abilities but whose cares.. because everyone can heal

I agree man, I'm at a point that I not only feel less enjoying Yoshi, I'm less enjoying tekken, I don't even play ranked anymore because it makes no sense with what is happening, even in quick match people plug or don't want a second match. And everything you play against are Jin, Hwo, King, Kaz, Paul and some seldom Victors, Lili, etc.
I like yoshi that he's so unique and has a lot of potential to troll people but it feels like they ripped him off in T8. Compared to other characters it feels like devs sprinkled all the roster with sugar & spice but yoshi got the leftovers. He got some new strings that are good but to be honest not that good in general because, just block high and respect yoshi. It's tiring to play against characters that can mix you the hell up and keep you starving on frames. Just block high on yoshi because all his lows are shit and only threats are samurai cut and d,f,3 from NSS.
Yoshi literally has no threatening mix-up with some lows and stuff because if you get a low from yoshi well so what? plus everything he does gives up his turn, and you are bound to use just straight forward couple of safe moves that can be SS but, not many do. It's so hard to open the opponent because he can just poke you out of almost all your clown moves that you will try to fish for a whiff or confuse him. People keep poking me out of flea, or even dick jabbing samurai cutter. All his cancels are inferior to what other have, and people panic poke me or even launch me by just button mashing stuff.
In higher ranks people just wait for you to chill out of your clowning and block high, and show you how useless you are, when they can mix you up into knockdown with guarantee follow-ups on decent damage, or wallsplats, etc. They can keep spamming stuff and stay, they can keep you guessing. In a game that conceptually shifted to more aggressive playstyle and all characters got more or less decent stances, great mix-ups, great move proprieties, great frames can just rush you down, while Yoshi being more defensive character you make his hurtbox shit, his SS is shit, even his b3, b4 evasive move is being tracked by some... Like I sacrifice my health to get out of the shit storm you are allowed to put me in, because not even flash works in some cases because you're in such -frames that they can follow up on a next launch, works only if you spot where to get it in-between some strings.
And don't get me started on his inconsistencies in moves, so many times it just drops the combo for no reason. They just ripped him off, good tornado moves, good follow-ups, some moves don't even hit grounded anymore while you can clearly see it could, some unblockables, just for a couple of new moves and slightly more damage in combos.
He needs:
- Hitboxes fixed
- Hurtboxes fixed
- More mixing strings with good proprieties (db4 could have a mid extension into db4,1 with a punch, the 2d3 string could have a mid extension that leaves you backturned into some plus frames 2d3,1 allowing you to fish for a back flash or keep him guessing) and so many more, or 2,3 could have an extension into low spinning kicks by 2,3,db33333... sheeesh
- Faster indian stance teleport animation
- His healing back so you can provoke them
- More strings with + frames (a bit more, just a bit)
- u3+4 to be more evasive (because look at Victor)
- more transitions in stances (you could go into flea from CD1 into CD1d for example, and if you launch you could follow with 1+2 or f2 into dragon and 2,4) and a lot of options to explore.
- give him more CH potentials

Tekken 8 yoshi has a lot of love in my heart but im with u in dropping yoshi as your main he is so fun to play but there are so many characters that are just as good and arguably better
I'll still stick around bro. I think i get it why you said he's not fun anymore. I loved yoshi in tekken 7 even when i barely won any matches he was just fun to play (which is the whole point of playing a videogame for me) but now that they done changed his whole fun setups he's more of a pain to play with. Sure they gave him damage.
But now I gotta be one of the other sweaty mfs in the game to try and win or it's just "watch your character getting juggled in the air from wall to wall for 60 seconds straight".

Bro CD2 NEEDS to come back. They did it with kazuyas cd1+2 so i can cope just a bit. Cd2 screw and qcf1 ender as well as old f1+2 were my top 3 favorite moves. But hey we can do d2,2,2 after d2,2 now its definitely not brainrot
They just removed many fun moves only to replace them with generic ones that actually limit your options. Even the KIN d1 cancel that they brought in later... I was like "why even remove it in the first place that was one of the most fun moves to do".
Tekken 8 yoshi just needs to be balanced and fleshed out. He just isn't as satisfying to play as he used to be

bro there are different ways to develop combos you don't have to do d222 d22. surely they can improve it in the future in terms of variety but I think that the work that has been done with this yoshimitsu has never happened in the history of tekken. Yoshi has always been a weak character here he is much stronger they have removed things but they have also added new ones

I reference d2,2,2 because that's what we got as replacement for cd2 and d2,1. Ofcourse there are other ways to do combos but 99% of the time you'll do a combo that uses tornado df1,2,1 or d2,2,2 because you don't even need harder execution for wall carry nor damage. His combos are now easy on top of doing much more damage.
DGF 2,4 is also kind of uninspiring. It's basically the old DGF 4 that we used to do DGF 2 before that, made into a string but with less utility since you are now forced to do 2,4 which ads 1 extra hit and it makes 4 whiff, (and has worse animation, but that's just my opinion)
Except the new 3,1 route every other option you have is basically a variant of his old basic tekken 7 combos just a lot easier, while at the same time not having access to his cd2 that would allow for instant tornado move that he now lacks and would allow more creativity. I've actually tested it because I used to love cd2 screw and there are many interesting combo routes with cd2 as tornado that actually take at least some execution and also look dope
Also worth noting:
-2,2 tornado is basically useless,
-3~4 tornado also basically useless
-flea 1+2 tornado also useless because f3+4 is no longer armor
So they just changed his bound moves just for the sake of changing them. Like why would 2,2 that already has a ton of utility in neutral also do tornado while 2,3 has no reason to exist right now? It's just small things like that, that don't make sense.
And to be clear I'm not completely shitting on the character, they made some good choices too but overall, skill floor is way lower, execution wise, and it kinda sucks because aside from visuals, he just doesn't feel as satisfying as he used to, I completely get that

I've known that since t7 my guy (☞ﾟヮﾟ)☞, but seriously that's not the point of that topic. Healing gradually leaves you in a situation where the opponent has to react if they don't want Yoshi negating the dmg done to him. So it forces players to act.

@NeCoruption you are correct, but think of it in totality. You can also gain health back from chip by simply attacking the opponent in return.
If I back pedal to heal off chip dmg when I could have done the same with just applying pressure, then, in a way, purposely giving the opponent breathing room to assess what to do next.
It's somewhat similar to T7, but the threat isn't the same.
