What an amazing experience!!! So humbled and honored I was a part of this! Thank you, Brent, for your luscious locks and outgoing attitude towards the tabletop gaming experience!!! Oh and one more thing... BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!! Wait, wrong universe.... PREPARE FOR WAR!!!!!!
No! Although we have never met (I don't play warhammer, but mostly MCP), I'm sorry to see my home town hero go down with the loss! Amazing battle report though! A pleasure to watch.
been playing OPR Grim dark future and Firefight... with the advanced rules... it's sooooo goood TY OPR guys for making wargaming accesible for us poors.
This has some real 40k in 40 mins vibes from PlayOnTabletop who were definitely the pioneers of cinematic batreps. This is only the logical evolution of their style and I would love to see more batreps like this. The dynamic camera is just a game changer here. Thank you for all the hard work here.
Only criticism I have: the cgi models seem to have more screen time than the actual models. All that great paint work, a shame to not have it in the spotlight. But this is so incredibly well done. Breaking new grounds for the hobby
My complaint, too. A minor one, as I'm sure they've posted pictures on their social media or something. Or maybe they released supplemental videos with them. Haven't looked yet. Other than that, a very high quality production!
The production quality is amazing, and I love the cinematic shots of the battle. I'm not such a fan of the interview-style snippets, but that might be because I'm not from the USA, and it's a very American style of narration
That's an interesting point! I like it for letting the players express themselves and sort of talk through their strategy which isn't always clear from raw unit movement/dice rolls, but that's true it's a very US sport thing lol
Also the description is the stuff of legends. Multiple Links to related content. Links to Dave’s videos. Full disclosure and links to the sponsors. 👏👏👏
Gotta say, I'm very impressed with the format for this battle report. It looks very high quality, is visually pleasant, sound/music selection is very effective at setting a mood, and above all it is easy to understand what is going on with each roll/action that is shown. I know it is not easy to achieve often (for various reasons), but having frequent close up shots of the beautiful models being used in the game does so much to keep me engaged and interested in the flow of the game. A lot of battle reports that only have top-down and wide shots of the whole table have become hard to watch from start to finish.
Man, that 90 degree pan from overhead to 2 player side view with option to pan to the dice tray... just buttery smooth and really adds to the watch experience. I can only imagine your camera rig looks like one of those robot arms that builds cars. It's awesome the robot arm got out of the factory and gets to pursue creative work!
Watching Dave have fun playing an army is a 10/10 and watching a OPR batrep is a 10/10 as well. This is just perfection and I really dig the whole style of this batrep as well. The models are awesome too. I need more of this!
Never played a game. Never painted a mini. Don't know the rules. Still I really enjoy watching this battle report ! Actually I was waiting for it since the trailer appeared few months ago
really cool video! I agree with others saying the "action close ups" would be better with painted models instead of the flat material renders. This game (and your channel) is mostly about the hobby side, so seeing the hard work up close is an important aspect of enjoying the game.
Damn that was so cool. So many awesome shots!! I am utterly confused by the decision to omit all that awesome dynamic footage of models on the table in favor of full cgi style 'game' attack sequences in the edit. But it was really easy to track what was happening.
100% So cool, but that was my feeling too. Using graphics for dice summarizing was nice, and such great production. I felt I saw more computer generated models than minis, and was left feeling the terrain and models didn't really get showcased. Such a missed opportunity with such awesome Cameras on hand. Excited to see how thus improves!
Seeing a lot of comments on the graphics. we would have loved to have shot the actual models in this aesthetic. we had three days in the studio and this was as much as we could capture in those days (even at 12 hours a day). The graphics helped us keep too a quicker pace (cutting and whatnot). If we do it again, will keep in mind!
My favorite part is that Brent still has paint on his pants from getting these epic dinos finished just before filming. Very cool Batrep, both armies looked amazing, and what more can be said about the cinematography!
Cool Battle Report and a surprisingly outcome 😅. My Favorite: The winning Dance with the Paint Stain on the Jeans. That’s what a real painter should look like 😂
Loved it! Great game and great people, loved the armies and all the creative camera shots. Thought of some feedback if you're interested, feel free to take it or leave it :) - Would have loved to see the painted minis instead of the 3D renders in the blow-by-blows. Would have given a great chance to show them off as I was always trying to see more of them - Touch more music would have been nice to lift the energy, but totally understand this is personal preference Overall really enjoyed the vid, and I think more battle reports should embrace the small interview-style segments
The whole point of this, as I understood it from the months of anticipation was to showcase the game in a new and exciting way. I don't understand why the camera was almost never showcasing the miniatures and battlefield in dynamic action shots or cool angles that you wouldn't be able to get usually. Wasn't that the idea? 90% of the time we were staring at a full-screen of either a dice tray, faces, or CG renders of gray models.
This is without a doubt the best battle to report I’ve ever watched. Despite I had no previous relation to either army, I’ve fount myself at the edge of my chair with most dice rolls. What a great production level, great sportsmanship and commentary. Great work, I hope you could make this a constant series.
Glorious Battle! That's what I love about this game. The pivotal moments that give the game a real narrative. Even when things look bleak, the fickle dice gods can turn in your favor.
Finally. Someone gets it why our Warhammer group likes to create our own rule sets. Not only does it speed up our games, it also allows more people in our group to play together on game days. One-page rules.
Great battle report. That looked like a lot of fun. The quality of the camera work really took it to another level. Very cool minis which were nicely painted. Well done to everyone involved.
This was amazing to watch and makes you wonder just how a full 2k points battle of 40k could look if filmed like this! Can't wait for possibly more of this?
I plan to keep collaborating with the folks from this video in various ways, I'll let you know when we have something neat coming up! As far as 40k... Games Workshop doesn't sponsor cool projects from outside creators, but maybe their in-house team will get a robot camera arm someday ;-)
That was really fun to watch, with all those beautiful miniatures and terrain and the clarity of the game play. Please do a fantasy OPR-match! Greetings from Germany!
It was fantastic finally getting to see this battle report, long in the making. CineCore did an amazing job. And One Page Rules was great as always. Fast, breezy, and full of wild swings.
One small correction about Symbol of War: it is only usable once per activation, meaning you need to activate the unit in order to use the ability. Counterattacking on melee does not count as an activation, so the daemon may only use the ability on their turn.
This was so much fun to watch! So many beautifully painted models, and some really surprising swings from both sides! Also always fun to see Dave :D Great video, Brent! Hope to see more like this sometime!
Such a great battle! Ive been looking forward to this match up since it was first announced. I would definitely watch more battle reports with Brent. OPR make great games and the battle reports are so much fun to watch!
The production quality of this video is amazing. The camera sweeps, overlays, cutaways etc etc. Extremely well done! Thanks for this! Oh and the saurian army is just amazing, now itching to print one myself!
I really liked the format you have going for this battle report. the dynamic 3d graphics for units, the visual effects and way you display dice. its all very fresh and cool.
I am so impressed you convinced Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia to play tabletop games with you. Love this content, both of you are tons of fun to watch. Please give us more!
Brent, this is amazing. you've got an awesome looking army here too. Starhost look so good. i love one page rules models, and you really did a fantastic job on them
I love how when Brent says "You're going down Dave" he just can't wipe the smile off his face. I swear Brent will need his smile surgically removed when he's dead and he will endow someone else in his will to keep a smile on their face in his will. I've never seen anyone who looks so happy in my life. Hell will freeze over before Brent even so much as frowns.
After months of hype, we finally see the Battle Report which has been produced by a Professional Film Studio. The CG display is amazing, the "Studio/game board" looks great, and the paint bottles in the foreground are nice. One Page Rules is a great format for a game but even still. For viewers that have never read or played a game from One Page Rules, a display on the screen noting what phase or rule is in use would be helpful and a display of the reason for each roll should be displayed. I love the camera angles used and the banter back and forth about what each of you will do and why. I so need more of these professional games with some minor adjustments it can be even more incredible
Wow!! I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy a battle report (as much as I like both of you guys) but this was really entertaining! This is the future. Fantastic job to everyone involved!
I've never found battle reports very interesting, but this was so good! I loved the reality tv style talking heads, and the banter between Brent and Dave.
Is this the Avatar 2 of battle reports ?! Absolutely amazing !!!!!!!!! N.B.: Also OPR minis are incredible- the starhost in a seraphon style is even cooler (more mayan style armors instead of Halo covenant's ones).
I really enjoyed watching this! I think the little side snips could have either been removed completely or expanded to get a little bit more of the players' thoughts and exposition instead of being used mostly for dramatic effect.
I think ambush means they can’t activate first, so idk if they harbinger could immediately charge Edit: and blast (3) only deals 3 hits if there are 3 or more models in the unit, so the cannon shooting the spiked Dino should have only dealt one hit
This is excellent! What an impressive use of camera technology. Plus high quality editing. I didn't think it would take this long to put together but I didn't expect the 3D rendered units, with "face-off" animations, with stats and the dice roll recreation, highlighting successful rolls. The tech, CG and editing team really went above and beyond. Great to see Brent do so well after all his hard work on those Saurians. Well played!
This was really epic! You guys seemed to have a lot of fun and it made it fun for me to watch you play. Also the absolutely awesome visuals helped to get me (as a regular OPR-Player) over the couple of rules mistakes you two made. I really hope that we well get a lot more of this in the future!
If the goal was to show off more high quality painted models, the CGI graphics of the gray sculpts clashes a bit. Not to mention seeing the dice or players when we could be looking at the models :'(
Check out Dave's version of events here ;-) ruclips.net/video/gbDo1VXqfKY/видео.html
@Dave, can you add more exclamation marks please? I don't think you have enough in there.
This was awesome to watch, thank you to everyone who made it happen!
Awesome game to sponsor 👏
We need to make OPR more popular!
DEATH TO THE FALSE GAMESYSTEM!!!

Totally agree, was thinking that as I was watching and this style has spoiled me off the 2+ hour steam style now :D
Would love to see more
Thanks, very humbled by your comment. This was our first crack at a battle report!
i 100% thought this was a PlayOnTabletop spinoff video at first x'D
Only criticism I have: the cgi models seem to have more screen time than the actual models. All that great paint work, a shame to not have it in the spotlight. But this is so incredibly well done. Breaking new grounds for the hobby
I was wondering the same; perhaps it was a lot more photography and editing to use actual mini images instead of cgi.
The studio had no idea how to film this type of activity
My complaint, too. A minor one, as I'm sure they've posted pictures on their social media or something. Or maybe they released supplemental videos with them. Haven't looked yet. Other than that, a very high quality production!
This was a once in a generation oppurtunity... goober was a poor sport and the cgi models were on more than the painted models. A shame.
@@duetbreaker you're an idiot
This came out beautifully. It’s so cool to see One Page Rules get a battle report with this level of production quality. Thank you for sharing.
Can Brent do more battle reports please 😂 I was not expecting to laugh as much as I am. This is great stuff.
hehehehehehe
I support this!!
Loved the victory dance.😂
@@LukasEisenring haha the best part of the video
MOAR. More more more.
"Dave helped me paint these guys last night so hes basiclly attacking himself" 😂
Well worth the wait!
Had me laughing!
Yeah didn't like it either, reminded me of all those garbage realities that saturate TV nowadays
The lighting and the mood from the filming is so smooth and feels good
So glad to see more love for One Page Rules! And with such fantastic production quality! Cheers to a great Battle Report!

Thanks! it was a blast to make!
This is by far, the best battle report i've ever seen ! Very easy to follow, the visuals, the roll dice ! Big props to the team !
The camera work is FANTASTIC
yep!
Thank you! It was definitely a challenge to keep it all moving for 46min.
Gotta say, I'm very impressed with the format for this battle report. It looks very high quality, is visually pleasant, sound/music selection is very effective at setting a mood, and above all it is easy to understand what is going on with each roll/action that is shown.

IT'S HAPPENING!! You knew this was going to be the first thing I watched this morning!! Even better than I expected, way to go!!
good mornin!! :-)
Came for a battle report, stayed for amazing cinematography. And commentary. And sportmanship. And more. Lovely stuff
Very interesting! Bookmarked this for later, lot to get through. The pans to closeup of Dave and Brent are *chefs kiss*

Amazing! I've been waiting months for this episode! The quality, cinematography, camera angles, vfx! The color schemes! You guys outdid yourselves!
Can we please have more bat reps from you Goobertown? Doesnt have to be this epic quality.
Was fun to watch you play :)
Great battle report! Expertly shot and so much fun to watch!Great game Brent and Dave!
First battle report I've ever watched and wow what an introduction!! The lightening, the banter, cinematography, the gameplay was all fantastic!
Thanks!
The transitions and edits are sooo good. My favorite BR I've ever seen and I have never played OPR lol
My heart is so happy right now. Thank you guys

What a great production! I really love the dice roll animation vs a dice tray. Much easier to tell quickly at a glance what succeeded. Great feature!

Oh, look. I was just wondering whatever happened with this, and here it is. Lovely production, nice match, fantastic players.
Really dope seeing a Play on Tabletop quality battle report on another channel!
It was awesome watching Brent play Mac from Always Sunny! Didn't know he was into gaming in addition to karate!
One small correction about Symbol of War: it is only usable once per activation, meaning you need to activate the unit in order to use the ability. Counterattacking on melee does not count as an activation, so the daemon may only use the ability on their turn.

hey thanks for checking it out :-)
The fact that the game is with alternating unit activation is sooo good!!! So better to watch than Warhammer!
I'm so glad this dropped, I'd given up hope! Incredible stuff! Thank you guys for making such amazing content!
Such a great battle! Ive been looking forward to this match up since it was first announced. I would definitely watch more battle reports with Brent. OPR make great games and the battle reports are so much fun to watch!
Watching this brings me so much joy. And I am absolutely sold now to not only use the rules from OPR. But also start in on collecting some armies.
Amazing camera work and graphics, this takes batreps to a whole new level!
Appreciate seeing this!
The production quality of this video is amazing. The camera sweeps, overlays, cutaways etc etc. Extremely well done! Thanks for this! Oh and the saurian army is just amazing, now itching to print one myself!
09:07 this is the first time I can remember seeing Brent NOT smile hahaha. Love the energy of you two guys.
What a great battle reporf! Outstanding. I look forward to seeing more OPR!

I normally don’t like battle reports, but GDF makes this more understandable and combined with the quality it’s actually pretty good.
Brent, this is amazing. you've got an awesome looking army here too. Starhost look so good. i love one page rules models, and you really did a fantastic job on them

This was incredible guys, such a beautiful production 🎉 🍻🙌
Absolutely fantastic, legends!

The tyrannosaur white armor really makes me think about zoids
Absolutely incredible level of production, OPR deserves love much more than other unspecified companies! Subbed for sure
Brent's hand covering the morale dice for a moment at 38:44 really added a ton of suspense
Yes! It was just short enough of a pause too! Excellent happenstance.
Wow!! I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy a battle report (as much as I like both of you guys) but this was really entertaining! This is the future. Fantastic job to everyone involved!
That was fantastic. Well done to both of you..Geckos for the win!
I've never found battle reports very interesting, but this was so good! I loved the reality tv style talking heads, and the banter between Brent and Dave.
Production value on this video is insane
This was awesome, thank you all for doing it.
Brent and MWG Dave! My world is imploding
The presentation and editing on this video is abosulutely top notch! Incredible! The players were entertaining, lighthearted, and fun! Great video
hey thanks for checking it out- glad you liked it! :-)
I think ambush means they can’t activate first, so idk if they harbinger could immediately charge
Edit: and blast (3) only deals 3 hits if there are 3 or more models in the unit, so the cannon shooting the spiked Dino should have only dealt one hit
Both videos were great but i really prefer the detail in this one. Good work!
Thanks, Our editor spent an insane amount of time on this!
This is absolutely stunning. I wish there was a full season of this ❤
Hey thanks! I hope we get a chance to do more like this :-)
Loved the experience. It was great to watch it. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.
Love the cinematic camera angles and effects the close up of units with fog was cool
I rarely get excited for watching other people play with their Mini's but I've been waiting for this! 🥳
Wonderful! Thanks for making this battle report, it was a blast to watch!
this is the best battle report ive ever seen.
Just got past the intro and i gotta say this: Sorry Dave, i love what you do... But i love the chaos-smashing dinos more. I hope Goober wins.
I was so impressed with this production! Great models and such a good match up. Looking forward to more of your battle reports.
First time i actually watched a wargame. Please make more of these in this format! Or does someone else make videos like these?
EpicTabletop makes fun battle reports. Also from Grimdark Future.
This was a good fun little report. Whole game under an hour.
I like the models too.
This was really epic!
You guys seemed to have a lot of fun and it made it fun for me to watch you play. Also the absolutely awesome visuals helped to get me (as a regular OPR-Player) over the couple of rules mistakes you two made. I really hope that we well get a lot more of this in the future!
I love this camera movement. This whole setup is awesome 👌
If the goal was to show off more high quality painted models, the CGI graphics of the gray sculpts clashes a bit. Not to mention seeing the dice or players when we could be looking at the models :'(
This was so fun to watch. Two of the most congenial dudes on RUclips having a great game. Editing was fantastic. I would love to see more!
Wow, this must have taken so much work. Amazing to watch.
