I'd argue that Neon Genesis Evangelion and Revolutionary Girl Utena are pretty similar to PMMM, but the genres are totally different, the former being a mecha and the latter being a Shoujo Drama

Their goal is to control Madoka. Homura's wish was to become strong enough to be better able to protect Madoka... Because of Madoka's wish, her wish was then null and void. She never got a wish in the rewritten universe. So her new wish is to protect Madoka at all costs, even if She is seen to be Madoka's enemy by everyone(including madoka) else.
Also Remember that scene where Madoka sits down with her mom Junko about how she could help a friend? That friend being Sayaka and then Madoka throws her soul gem... That same advice can be seen with Homura's actions...

Homura can never be saved if it means MAdoka is controlled by the Incubators. She will NEVER let that happen.

This song breaks my heart, it makes me think of my little sister that took her life on my 28th birthday 2 years ago. I feel this song to the core of my being.
This video was made beautifully, such an amazing anime.
Watching this made me realize that Homulilly looked to be on the same scale as Walpurgisnacht but she, on top of being the first witch in the new world, would probably be one of the smallest witches in the old world due to inhabiting her soul gem. Besides she didn't seem especially strong, on one hand it could be the magical girl group getting stronger. On the other hand as a witch prototype in the new world Homulilly would be quite unstable because she didn't fall to despair but instead lead to it or because she was a type of prototype as a witch in general and as a witch inhabiting her own soul gem. That was also eventually the cause of Akuma Homuras creation or at least had part of it, small, but present.
Nice explanation as to how the Quintet did not lose to her. But it is said if she had become a Witch in the original world, she would have been the most dangerous of Witches, because her Time stop would make her unstoppable.

the song really fits the anime, tho I don't like how you connected them, I mean, the first minute it's just Homura and Mami fighting
yes, probably almost half of the video is Mami and Homura fighting but the way he portrays it; it depicts how that battle itself will only lead to Homura's hopelessness. Even if she did wins that fight, still, she can't be saved.
At the very least that how it felt to me while I was watching this AMV.
Its a great choice of song.

Yeah...Mami taught Homura. She was friends with Kyoko. She brought Sayaka and Madoka into her world. And now, she's the mother figure to her killer, who was just as broken as her mother even before the transformation.
Trying to be an Angel gets you nowhere. No wonder Homura/Homulity chose to be a demon. The cost might be high. But at least you get to see how your wish is when it comes true.

The anime is Called Puella Magi Madoka Magica
It is currently on Netflix with the original series along with the three movies
although Beginnings and Eternal are two movies that recap the original series with more added detail. Rebellion is the movie which this AMV uses scenes from.
The Anime is a Magical Girl genre anime with a dark twist and concepts.
Basic Description:
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is about a middle school student named Madoka Kaname and she has a weird dream with a girl in it. When she is at school the next day they get a mysterious dark exchange student who happens to be the girl from her dream. The story follows the pains and struggles of being a magical girl and how Madoka Reacts with the events in front of here and how it effects her and those around her.
I highly recommend it if you haven't watched it yet.
It has two names:
1. Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica
2. Puella Magi Madoka Magica
I've recently started to compare this anime with "Pirates of the Caraibean". It's easier than you think:
- Kyoko is Barbosa;
- Hitomi is Elizabeth;
- Madoka is Calypso;
- Homura is Davey Jones;
- Kyubey is Beckett;
- Mami is Captain Teague;
- Nagisa is Jack Sparrow;
- Sayaka is...I don't know. Gibbs ? Will ? Maybe Will.
- And the Magic Girls from the spin-offs are the Brethen Court.
