Also Chris, talk about the dead head plug for those who do not have the tank pressure gauge. With the dead head plug you can charge the line and the big fill reg will tell you what u gots left in the tank. Good vid my friend.

Would like to see videos on cleaning. I've heard it's important where you get your bottles filled do to moisture, is one pave better than another? Dive shop, passing ball, etc.

When filling a tank at home you use a filter or two between the compressor and tank both portable tank like here in video or tank on the gun. I didn’t fill any bottles at scuba shops because I was denied the service for not having an up to date scuba license so I just purchased the yong heng compressor there like 240$ from Walmart who exclusively sales them plus 40$ for a 3 -4 yr warranty after watching some RUclips videos using high grade oil other then one simple O ring change it’s been awesome for my needs no trips no hassle are they open how’s Traffic it’s paid for itself after a few of those headaches plus gas prices in Southern California suck But scuba shops have to be using a filter of some sort because obviously people are breathing off the tanks. I’ve never had any issues with tons of water being in my filters and I check them after each fill and leave them open for a few hours just in case of any moisture. There’s many compressors that look like the yung heng that might work but from my research you want to make sure you get a real one because that’s the one tons of people are using in the pcp world.

@@caseG80 you don't get the water from the compressor and no matter what filter you use it prolly won't stop it.. Its usually always caused by condensation from temp differences in the air and bottle..

Question: I've read that if the rifle has been de-gassed, before adding air, one must cock the gun, receiver open, to allow an air valve to close, so as not to lose air as you try to pump it in. Something that relates to the hammer spring/hammer tension - would you please clarify that?

    • @Hobby_Electric
      @Hobby_Electric Год назад

The regulator should not be touched to much,it could damage the seal from the dreamline.
It maintain a constant speed of the pellets to increase the presicion.
Also it limits the Pressure for the high speed valve,to high pressure can damage it also or the hammer cant open it anymore.
Low Regulator Pressure = Slow Pellets but more Shots per bottle fill.
The Air consuption is not linear, so double pressure is not double Speed or Energy.

I know it's 3 years old, but when you said both gauges will go up the same time, i would have added the reason why. What you are doing is opening a low pressure tank to a high pressure tank, so that both tanks will arrive at the same pressure, or attempt to do so. If you have a 5k tank and another tank that can get up to 5k, fully opening the valve will make them both equal, sharing the pressure and thus both be less than 5k, maybe 2.5k each if they are the exact same, with some slop in the line, not sure on the math. So yes, you are stopping the equalizing process midstream by shutting the valve at the 250 bar point since big tank can overpressure the little tank. I point that out because the gauge jumped up pretty fast, even when you were trying to ease it into 250.

When filling a PCP rifle air cylinder (or any air cylinder) the proper fill rate is vital to the safety of the operator and equipment. According to FAMA Body Subcommittee, "The fill station will usually (but not always) have an Air Control Panel to control
the cylinder fill rate which should not exceed 1,500 psi per minute or 113 BAR per minute (which is the
highest rate recommended by the major SCBA cylinder manufacturers). Sure, you can slam it in faster, but it's not advisable.

Found out, by trial and error, my Brocock air rifle needs to be uncocked to stay filled with air. If I cock it before filling, the air will leak out. This is not stated in the Brocock manual that came with either of my Brocock air guns. I think that this kind of information should be included in all air gun manuals and any video on filling your air gun.

After building Two filling stations, id like to ask a technical question regarding
    filling of a PCP rifle.
I can fill my rifle with
my Nomad II compressor and foot pump no problem but when i go to use my newly built filling station tanks , my rifle will not begin to fill. When i open the valve on my filling station the air is leaving it down the air filling line. The filling stations are rated at
3000 ps (207 Bar). My Rifle will take up to 3000 psi. Is a pressure valve not opening
on the rifle because of not enough back pressure? Do i need to have a tank with a higher pressure?

Nice video, but if you're using one of the manual pumps to fill your air shooter, you can bet your ass that you'd never be able to put that gauge in the red even if you had arms like a gorilla and pumped all week....

Pumps are better for cylinder models rather than large bottle guns. But with a properly balanced pump like the Hill you can get it to full either way. Not effortless, but no gorilla required!
