It actually is a solution. You can’t make another person have feelings for you so the best thing to do is move on and enjoy life. Once you do that, he will either leave and never look back (which gives you an opportunity to find someone who is a better match for you) or he might see how easily you moved on as independent and attractive and he may want to give the relationship another chance. Doing anything else like being clingy or manipulative will make him glad he decided to leave.
