They do look great! But if you live in colder place, I would say that a lot of these jackets are more suitable for fall and spring. I live in Denmark and I would freeze my ass off in a lot of these jackets during the winter
same, in Ukraine it's already been snowing and negative degrees celsius this whole week, and fleece jackets (while looking fire) gonna make you freeze to death probably.
Back in 2011 a Canada Goose bomber style parka was $600 or so, the same jacket today is a cool $1100 minimum. You know its insane when Canada Goose has a certified pre-owned service 😂
I think Banana Republlic is quite slept on. I have always found good pieces that have lasted me multiple wears and washes. (NOT BR Factory! They are different)
I have the Uniqlo seamless down parka and it really does keep me warm. (I live in Nyc and take public transportation) greatly recommend and if you want something for much colder weather. They have a chart and a few videos recommending which jacket to wear depending on the lightness and how much it could keep you warm.
Also Uniqlo has great winter jackets on clearance, I’ve bought a long puffer years ago on clearance at the start of winter for around $80. I used it so much that year!
yeah the commercialisation of used clothes is so annoying. vintage stores in norway sell beat up carhartt jackets full of holes and permanent stains for $150+ because theyre ViNtAgE. sadly the hipsters here are braindead enough to buy them, contributing to driving the price higher and higher
Solid list, thanks for the variety. I’ve been picking up a few pieces from 18east lately. Unique designs while still versatile and they make products that fit my larger frame.
It hasn't snowed here nor will it snow ever in this part of the state i live. You can probably guess where I live since alot of snowbirds come and visit us, but if I wanted to see snow all I have to do is drive out 2 hours to a near by city where it'll probably snow in the next month or so. I do wish for rain alot since that'll increase our winter time and I get to enjoy wearing sweaters or jackets for much longer, otherwise its going to be miserable if summer hits early for us. I love your videos please don't stop, you're inspiring me to start uploading my own videos.
I got a west 49 sweater at the mall that has that idk peanutbutter brown carhart look but it was only 30 buck. carhart is a classy workwear brand but there are definitely other options that are cheaper with the exact same vibe.
A recommendation for the European customer over here is the brand Welter Shelter from Amsterdam! In my opinion they have the best quality to price jackets in the mid-high end section as they combine modern silhouettes with highly technical fabrics that even outperform outdoors brands and layering systems to make their jackets suitable for all weather conditions. I have been wearing an biking in them for years, through the horrendous Dutch winters and never got wet once; that’s something!
I live in Texas but still look at my jackets from when I moved out of NYC, I could only hope it’s a grueling winter with crazy low temps so I could dust off the coats!
I’m here with my wellensteyn jacket. No, it didn’t snow yet in my country or at least where I’m living right now. But the weather app promised snow for the next week.
Been looking at the aritzia Superpuff in black, but thought it was lacking character -- I'm glad you recommended the banana republic one with the fur detail.. might have to cop!
Where do you live? How cold does it get where you are? These coats do not look approprite for winter at all. They are more late autumn, early spring opsions.
Cool video. I bought a second hand woolrich parka, the no fur version and it is a great winter jacket in my opinion. Also duffle coats, made in england, like gloverall. There is also a german brand called closed. They arevon the priceier side but have a beautiful dufflecoat this season.
I live in south California so it doesn’t get TOO cold where I live but I just love fashion videos and yours are always so chill and informative and just super enjoyable, if I’m ever going to a cold place and need a jacket I will definitely be coming back here to help me choose an option 🫡✨
maaaan that anderson raglan jacket is clean but I live in Toronto.. gets below freezing here fairly often. how warm could it be? maybe squeeze a fleece underneath? so tempted to find out lol
#pvv We've experienced light watery snow here in Montreal, Canada.😅 My favourite is a long wool owercoat but when it gets really cold, we absolutely need a parka/puffer coat up in here!😂 Have a nice day Drew!
Before anyone says anything about animal torture or something, I‘m talking Vintage. I highly suggest Sheepskin/Shearling. Vintage styles are cropped, because they were worn seated. Shearling keeps warmth incredibly well without getting you to sweat. It keeps you warm even if wet, unlike down, which needs a Polyester Shell and RIP when that rips. Also Polyester doesn’t biodegrade so Shearling wins in sustainability by a mile. Also if you want to buy new, most companies can tell you where its sourced from, it’s mostly waste from the meat industry. no animal skin is thrown away more than Sheepskin
Appreciated your video Drew ! I own an Atom LT Hoody and it can keep you warm in temperatures down to about 38 F , at least for me . For colder weather in freezing temperatures I have a Parajumpers Marcus. Just subscribed .
#pvv we just got like 15cm (6 inches) of snow here in one evening 💀 its been snowy as heeeell, time to break out them boots (and shovels) to even walk out the door
Thanks for another great video! At the moment I’ve got my eye on Purple Mountain Observatory’s Cocoon puffer jacket - looks super warm and I love the slight tie dye effect! Definitely an up and coming brand to check out, and local for me in London!
zara jackets look good imo…dont break the bank and should be close in keeping you warm as others if not more…id understand why only show these fashion forward jackets only and not jackets that every day guy can wear…otherwise really informative video👍
Are we really gonna let him get away with that LL Bean Peacoat recommendation... Like who is your audience, upper middle class mom's who own a LV wallet...
You're talking about cheap jackets and the first thing you show is a carhartt detroit? You can get a caterpiller jacket vintage of the exact same style for around 15 euros second hand. I think this just shows a lack of knowledge when it comes to fashion. I like your general style but you only seem to go for expensive and prestigious brands instead of going for cheaper options that don't have to be fast fashion
I have been wearing the corduroy one for a few years now. They are very good for their price (I have paid between $60-65 each for the 3 I own). I highly recommend them.
The atom hoodie is super warm! I live in sweden and have worn the atom hoodie for the last 5winters it keeps you warm in -20c. It is a amazing jacket by itself but it is also small and light enough to use for layering.
I can’t believe you didn’t mention Columbia sportswear for fleece’s. They are actually affordable. They ain’t flashy but they are quality that last a really long time. I stand. By Columbia. I don’t consider them fast fashion
Got a Atom hoodie last year, probably my most worn piece during fall/winter. Simple but stylish at the same time. Great video, looking forward to checking out these brands you recommended! And no snow in area at the moment, hoping for it soon
It hasn't snowed where I am at in Cali, but I am going to London this winter so I need to find an actual winter jacket😂 So this vid came at the perfect time.
I'm wearing one this time of year with thermal underwear, which so far has been relaxed (I haven't had any temperatures below 0 degrees). I thought about getting the quilted vest but didn't because I wasn't sure if it would keep me that warm. How is it with you?
Thanks for covering women and women! Great round up! I have a Pendleton wool coat similar to the one mentioned and can verify they are solid quality. Every once in a while Banana Republic has some solid pieces. I have a waffle Merino wool sweater from them I’ve had for a couple of years and really like. I’m surprised you didn’t have any deck jackets though!
They do look great! But if you live in colder place, I would say that a lot of these jackets are more suitable for fall and spring. I live in Denmark and I would freeze my ass off in a lot of these jackets during the winter
haha denmark is not that cold, it doens’t even snow there
same, in Ukraine it's already been snowing and negative degrees celsius this whole week, and fleece jackets (while looking fire) gonna make you freeze to death probably.
As a Danish person, what do you think about the (di)vision bombers? Just ordered some to Germany from their black friday deal
@@the21stcenturyishere64I got one and for winter, you still need a thick sweat or hoodie inside it :)
Same for Canada lol. I could not survive a whole winter with these jackets

Average Depop carhartt jacket is $200
Yeah its awful what all these "vintage curators" have done
@@rocksaltzwidaz3411It’s a silly cash grab, these companies use the word vintage and try to call it unique to jack the price up.

Rocky mountain feathetbed for down jackets. The aesthetic ks western and outdoor combined and the down is very warm
Thisisneverthat jackets are so clean, I live in that shit in the winter! So many compliments on it, and a great price too

RAB and mountain equipment are super popular here in the UK TNF worn by all the school children
so many of these are, like, *light* spring jackets. You're about to find out what Winter is.
that orslow tweed jacket looks so good with that fit
Wrangler denim jackets are nice

martine rose is a really cool smaller brand aswell, a bit more expensive but such a cool brand
Ain’t no snow yet but it’s brick ash up in NY which I’m assuming u know, really needed this vid rn
Get a puffer and gloves, underrated item is also a good face mask. Since covid hit NY, the mask was one thing that’s never left my winter items.
Made it to the pvv as a Texan lol. Always love your videos Drew, hopefully I'll be able to indulge in a nice winter jacket at some point

Eightyfive, a 'small' german streetwear brand has some amazig winter jackets aswell!!

I wouldn’t really call carhartt fast fashion but I could see mentioning Uniqlo clearance as a good option to find winter jackets/coats for $75-$125
Do you have any experience with the Levi's Sherpa Truckers? More specifically the corduroy ones
I have a Levi’s denim Sherpa trucker. I don’t know about the corduroy, but the denim is so beautiful and really warm as well.
