@frosthaze1996 As someone who uses Gepard to this day, I can definitely say this is not true in Simulated Universe expansions and Divergent Universe. Due to how hard the enemies ST attacks hit in those modes, I've lost count how many times Gepard's revive came in clutch for me. So obviously not a useless ability, but also not relevant for many players since people are mainly using Aventurine and/or Lingsha in SU content at this point.
Not a passive but i noticed this on Yanqing, he has HP% traces. The character who relies on using a shielder with him and not having their health reduced...has HP% traces
A lot of DPS are like this, they have a trace that has nothing to do with offense, even feixiao has a defense% trace for some reason, the only exceptions are the nihility DPSs (Kafka, black swan, Acheron) Edit: nvm, Kafka has health increase

Think about it like this instead. The first dps turn isn't actually when they get the most buffs on them, think of robin sparkle bronya who need to take 2 turns to access their ult. This means on the first QQ turn you're not fully buffed so you don't want to waste all your sp immediately at the start of a fight and the technique helps you take less flips on turn 1
You can use Destruction MC's technique to counter those bad Curios/Occurrences that reduce your HP to oblivion. A bit niche, but very useful since you can't use consumables in there.
This is true and there’s been times where this has genuinely been helpful (if I remembered it) but assuming you’re playing any Simulated Universe content older than Divergent Universe, that’s one of your download slots wasted. Something you already want to reserve for characters like Ruan Mei and your Adventure domain clearers.
I'll counter this: Natasha having a base of 476 ATK and 423 ATK from a LC and 352 ATK from gloves with a 110% ATK multiplier would be equal to ~1137 damage, which is equal to about 2842 HP worth of scaling at 40%hp scaling For that 1137 DMG to be made up by Lynx or Huohuo with 55 or 50% HP scaling would have to gain nearly 8000 to 11000 HP before they equal out having added basic attack damage on Natasha's E6 certainly isn't the most desireable E6, but implying it's somehow a worse scaling basic attacker compared to Huohuo or Lynx is just factually wrong
Since Path Alternations are now a thing, they can instead sell you the OG Version and then make an Event for the "Upgrade". Also because of DHIL, they can also sell the "Upgrade" in a different path or same path too. HYV is a company and, sadly, unless the outcry is bigger than the hype, they have no reason to update old characters.
not related to the video but devs in 1.0 were so creative that 4 units has the "when below 50% hp, less likely to be attacked by enemies" trace. all doing the same exact thing

Phys TB's technique is meant for VERY early game, when you don't have the means to just heal in-battle. Obviously it's not useful in mid-game or late-game, it was never meant to be used there in the first place...
That doesn't change the fact it's useless past that point even if it's designed for it. Just shows that Hoyo intentionally designed phys TB to be obsolete. A damage dealer shouldn't have a party-wide heal as part of their kit when it could've been something that boosts their damage or gain the initiative in battle instead.
@@SuspiciousScout It's the first character we receive, it doesn't have to be outstanding, in fact, completely the contrary of it in this game due to the lore implications and how gacha games are shaped in general. Of course, they could've given him a dmg technique, but you can't act like that would change the fact that Phys TB is obsolete due to his overall kit; He has no special scalings that make it outstanding, neither does he have any significant self buffs, the restoration technique isn't made to be fully functional, it's a show that we are yet an un-experienced fighter just waking up from literally losing our memory, being abandoned by an old partner, and the best we can do is flow with it, we literally cheer up the party based on the line "Keep at it" and it's pretty clear the why, we can't do anything about the situation we're in other than to keep going, in my opinion, it's a perfect technique for the starting character. It was just made to be an initial character, like in a lot of gacha games, you can't just expect any kind of these games to give us the most functional character right off the bat (Get it?). Besides, if you want to complain, Natasha, a healer, has a damage technique which is way more pointless in gameplay terms than Phys TB's one. Small edit: In the current state, we got 2 forms of the MC way past the starting point who are actually really useful, it clearly shows the progression of the story, both Phys and Fire TB have uses in the state of the game we got them in.
Me, who still switches to physical MC and uses the heal technique in simulated/divergent universe (It can come in handy if your team's hp gets set to 1% and a tough fight is coming up).

Bronya A6 gives DEF for the team when entering battle fir 3 turns. It’s annoying, they could have given bronya a good A6 to make her more competitive with other harmony units
Why does she even have it? The crit rate bonus from her skill doesn't even scale off of her own crit rate. The only way I can see that trace being useful is if you have her E6 lmao
I guess it was meant for her to support some dmg with the burst. 20% crit rate + some crit rate traces and getting fast ult after 2 skills and hp scaling. Too bad it doesn't work that well in practice.
Literally same, I get a super unlucky occurrence or curio and lose all my hp when I’m using a shielder. And then MC comes in with the clutch 30% so I don’t go into the next fight on deaths door
Gepard talent is so useless. Its a self revive, but gepard is usually the last one standing in your team cuz his def is very high. So even if he dies and revive... His team stays dead. He has no damage what is he going to do alone? And in moc is even worse cuz a dead teammate means 1 less star. Its only useful in SU/Variants but that sh1ts ez af 😂
Which is true, but gepard scaling on defense doesnt bother him that much. that stuff just charges his ult faster for taking those hits, then u pop it and get another health bar, and this cycle repeats while shielded and getting energy to ult again and get shield. again. Geppard shields fades on allies turn, not geppards, so faster allies get their shield off faster, which comes again to gepard being last standing due to him still having shield while allies are tanking raw dmg to the health bar. So yeah, geppard will be most of the time be among the last ones standing due to him having shield most of the time and just the high defense he gets. the only time i think geppard revive was usefull was battling the story mode of the giant fake blue bug emanator since he somehow got CC and focused by the boss and 4 minions following into a big detonation, before i could get to ult. But throwing a revive on the least likely unit to die... just doesnt make sense.
i think the only good think i can say about him is that if for whatever reason gepard dies first his revive doesnt count in the end as a downed teammate. you can still 3 star even if he dies once
the fact you didn't even mention that Arlan's E4 is equally as entirely useless is insane, his other ascention buffs are also pretty much useless. Arlan doesn't JUST have the most useless ability, he has THE WHOLE TOP OF THE SHELF
Standard banner character also have a lot of useless traces, i hope dev can repair them, like ehr on gepard instead of ice damage boost and his trace which increase his attack according to his def is kind of useless
5:05 I sometimes use trailblazers technique during simulated universe runs where you get an occurrence that takes away 99% of your hp. useful for when you can get your hands on more purple juice but not heal juice before a fight.
Blades A2 and A4 passives are pretty bad too, also damaging techniques to enter combat got power crept insanely after acheron and have only become more irrelevant with more powerful dps with crazier techniques being released.
RIGHT???? I’m a firm believer that a lot of characters will be used often if they had permanent techniques similar to Ruan Mei or Topaz so your main damage dealer can use their atk technique, wish Pela had that
If you ever want to have a good laugh, just realize that Geppard’s signature light cone at MAX REFINEMENT gives approx 38% DEF increase to the character …….Aventurine’s signature cone at refinement 0 gives a flat 34% DEF increase.
Sushang have another extremely useless thing, E2, "-20% dmg taken when Sword Stance is proc", when you proc Sword Stance on...broken ennemy. 99% of the time that's useless, not to mention that a defensive Eidolon on a DPS Ah and also she have the worse trace in the game for a DPS with combinaison of the trace you mentionned + 3 HP traces + 2 Def traces. 1 defensive traces + 5 défensive subtraces + E2 on a *DPS* , when Serval or Hook 1.0 4* DPS have CR Help my girl aya she havn't understand her lessons to beat up ennemy
- Pela buff dispel is useless not becoz there are not much enemy with buff, there a lot but the problem is mhy lock the buff so they can't be remove which very bad move from hsr dev imo - as for the rest, i have nothing to said as you hit it all, tbh i was expecting more but it not that much "useless" abilities it seem

And i was countering his point of saying there are not much enemy with buff becoz in reality there are alot but most the buff enemy have now is lock, unremovable so buff dispel might as well be consider useless at this point
Pela/Luocha buff removes are a godsend when MOC has the reviving mara-struck minions though. Helps to avoid wasting moves killing them twice. (Their revive is a removable buff)
i have a idea as to how we buff Physical Trailblazer: - Passive stack up to 10 times. - technique now give buff instead of only healing: create a healing effect that last for 2 turns. - passive healing now triggered when hitting broken enemy instead of when attacking enemy with physical weakness what do you guys think?
tbf to firefly, you can use eba if enhanced skill is already overkill. the extra sp can still be used by other supports or her in the next enemy or cycle or wave
I have E1 Firefly, and when I actually remember her EBA exists, I sometimes do use it, since it generates SP and I like being able to skill on Lingsha and HTB more.
That would be great, however some 4 stars should be reworked asap. Arlan, Nat etc. for 5 star I think Yanqing is js not k. Others are there, however Bailu and Gepard heals and shields respectively being increased and inserting them on a skill instead of their ults (invigoration for Bailu) would be way better along with cleanse and/or eff res would be appreciated.
3:33 I'm defending him here, I'm a big Sampo user since I've not a Kafka and am not keen with replacing him with Asta. The trace essentially lowers the requirement from 2 enemy hits (113) to 0 enemy hit required (123). with someone like Shared Feeling Huohuo, this means from using a skill twice with S4+ to using it never. Might I instead offer Gepard's Grit? Sure, it makes his attacks feel stronger and all, but if you're relying on it then your dps is lackluster, any sustains that provides any buff to any other attacker would've done this job better, and you'd rather replace him with Aventurine anyway if you wanted both a dps and a sustain.
im hearing conflicting info from sampo mains, from my circle, ideally sampo gets hit a lot anyway because thats kinda just dot wanting them to move, and sampo is deadweight without skill spamming and the energy req is low enough so they call it useless.
My poor boy Arlan has the worst ascencion passives, A1 is good if u run no sustain, if not, it can screw your damage bonus If he had good passives, i think he can be a lot better than he is
I'll like to recommend one, Sparkle's A2 trace, "When using Basic Attack, additionally regenerates 10 Energy". Meanwhile, Sparkle already gets a 3 turn ultimate spamming skills. Easily could have been something else to separate herself from the other Harmony characters.
its actually useful if you know what you are doing. particularly 0 cycleing and not everytime you need to pull the dps. this talent helps in her maintaining her 3 turn rotation. you can refer to the latest velleity video, pela 0 cycle, where he/she uses this.

@@Sharkfang3 but it is, on the rare occasion you manage to mess you rotations, this makes so you dont get too much punished for misplaying. in a dhil team for example, this can happen. (and although you should just reset and manage sp properly, in a casual play its pretty good)

Sparkle and Lingsha both have the same trace that make BA give as much energy as possible for ult, but since Lingsha is made to not spam Skillpoint, that trace actually benefit more on her than on Sparkle. Say, changing that trace into "When Sparkle recovered Skillpoint, she gain 10 Energy" - making that standout more for her. Her Ult basically regenerate back an extra 10 more Energy (fixed the wording abit and it might become 40 Energy restored), but still maintaining her same old passive. This would work way better for her, considering that she is a very skill-dependent character, and 90% of the time you would want to use her Skill.
I imagine you could use that to get skill points for DanIL or such, but with two other teammates also doing that, it shouldn’t be that big of a problem 😅
arlan has to have one of the saddest lives in gaming history not only his kit is way clunkier and terrible than xinyan but he also gets little to no screentime in events nor quest to even build up a decent fanbase
2:43 because Yanqing has reduced taunt as a part of his core kit (aka his talent), although I'm not entirely sure will taunt decrease work as multipicative or additive if having multiple stacked, but most likely multiplicative, this trace would have even less value Besides, having less than 50% HP condition means Yanqing should somehow get to that HP point first, which is something he doesn't want to do, ideally he'd rather not take any damage at all, so as much as I hate him, this bit does make sense
Physical MC's technique is actually quite useful in higher stages of Simulated Universe. Imagine you have that lottery curio that gives you curios, but also may lose you all hp? So what happens if it self destructs, there are no healing capsules? You can either pray your characters will not die before your sustain heals everyone to full, or you could just switch to DMC, click your fingers ~3 times, and go as if nothing happened. This is the only use case for this ability, but it saved my runs enough times to say it's not useless
3:34 This actually helps me sometimes since i use Solitary Healing ult spam Sampo 5:06 it is very useful in high difficulty SU content actually since an unlucky occurence or curio might mean you die otherwise
@@SoiWasTaken you may have to bring a character that doesn't help your run much and it may not be optimal (like on nihility you are giving up trend or smth) and you have to win a fight with that (which can cause you to end up in a worse state) and if you go into a lot of occurrences that one fight may be a boss fight that may just end your run then and there. Destruction MC's heal does not require you to go into a fight and most techniques aren't that important so using some points on it has no downsides besides needing to download the MC (Preservation MC is good for a number of teams anyways) and the MC does not need to enter battle to heal. Being at full hp is extremely important for Clear Lucite Body too.
I genuinely cannot believe a hero as recent as Rappa would have a completely dead ability (her skill), that shit does nothing except act as a supbar energy battery. The damage numbers feel like a joke😭
Phys trailblazer actually can be quite useful but it's pretty rare and just for simulated universe, such as when you trigger the events that bring your hp extremely low. There are sveeral ofthem that bring you down to almost zero hp.
I've actually found a specific case where stelle's healing technique is useful but it requires the player to literally shut down their brains to the point of getting to 1% on everyone and bricked on a boss for it to be useful 😂
tbh i feel like bronyas trace that advances her when she uses a normal attack is aktivly hurting her perfomarnce if you run out skill points and are forced to use her attack so she advances and ruins the speed tuning.
When it comes to Dan Heng, it really feels like he was designed to work well with the other members of the Astral Express. He combo's very well with Welt and March can keep the heat off of him.
I wish hoyo would patch old characters, a lot of them has a lot of potential and looks fun to use when in reality they don't even work most of the time Not sure why they don't do it from time to time to at least make them relevant
2:50 totally agree with that, when I was checking Dan Heng traces in my The Hunt account I was like nope I am not activating that trace and let yanqing get hit more. (if someone doesnt get what I mean, a Hunt char have 3 aggro and 50% means only 1.5 and in a normal Hunt team Yanqing have 3/12 chance to get attack but if Dan Heng activate the trace and get low Yanqing would have 3/10.5 chance of getting attack) 4:30 that one I disagree, even a small action advance is good. a normal turn is 10000/spd and if it is 10% action advanced it is 9000/spd which is 1000 different and that trace is useful for getting her to Spectral Transmigration state. there are better traces but that one is not useless. 5:00 ... when you havent unlock consumable in sim universe that is a really good technique. 6:15 I completely forgot Arlan exist but seeing the trace yeah I could understand why that is useless, why would anyone need that trace, most of the elite enemies only launch its powerful attack on the second turn meaning, that trace is just blocking nothing.
fr, can we switch that crit trace with ff third trace, boothill would appreciate the element type ignore more than ff, and ff would appreciate the crit stats since she is already being build with a lot of atk

@@meliho27eww no. The thing is boothill use bronya in his team so a hybrid build between crit and break can be done to maximize his damage. This is because he doesn't get that much value from superbreak like ff and rappa, he is more of break dps that scale with enemy hp. This is why his lc give break effect so he can focus on other stat such as speed and critdmg/rate since he have crit rate traces already character like sunday is perfect upgrade for him because sun day is skill point neutral in his ult and give both crit rate and crit damage.

boothill’s ghost load trace, giving crit to a break DPS is just laughable the only situation where this trace is useful is over world farming, where the mob’s health are low enough to get one shotted by his crit enhanced auto, but a lot of units are better suited for clearing mobs than him
You did the Trailblazer's physical technique dirty. I SU, its one of the most useful, especially if you take a "lotery ticket", that technique was a livesaver and still can be.
I feel Gepard's talent is one of the worst one for him to have as he will never die on the team, it would make more sense if it was on a destruction character than a never dying shielder
When i look for older posts, many people praised Bronya and Gepard. Now they are being said as useless. Kinda weird, because of course if compared to limited characters, they would not be as amazing as the limited. Maybe it happens since the introduction of overpowered Robin and Aventurine. It's kinda unfair tho comparing standard with limited. But i guess it's because standard characters in HSR are actually quite good in carrying the players throughout the early-mid content for a longer time. I feel like in some other games their standard characters were unusable after lesser period of time. So i'm pleasantly surprised that standard characters in HSR are actually not so bad.
physical mc's technique is still good in DU i think, in high levels you can't use food and the only other character to have a heal on technique is luocha which few people have
Gepard talent(the rivive) its more likely all your team dies before he does, the only times i trigger that ability was in smu when the boss had +100 stacks and all my team was already dead
may i suggest Blade's a4: If Blade hits a Weakness Broken enemy after using Forest of Swords, he will restore HP equal to 5% of his Max HP plus 100. the ability isn't USELESS, but the self healing is so minor it usually makes very little difference (especially if you use a component healer) when Blade would prefer a damage buff way more instead noawadays
Bronya's 100% crit rate on basics is completely useless unless you have her E4, which only works sometimes and you're not going to build her for dmg regardless
It can occasionally be used to kill weak adds at the end of a cycle or wave of enemies, so I don't hate it. You are building max crit dmg on her after all
Even if the passive was given to Yanqing it would still be pretty useless since you don't want him to even take a single hit of damage no less 50% of his health, if your Yanqing is that dead your alr gonna lose
Actually Arlan’s Trace can be triggered in Divergent Universe by a Blue Destruction blessing that halves your team HP at the start of battle in exchange for a fat shield. …. But yea it’s pretty useless😂
I mean ALL characters have at least 1 defensive stats like HP Def or Effect Res it’s not just him (the only character in game that lacks them is Acheron afaik)
@@Nyx309 Rappa has ATK/SPD/BE so I think we could consider this offensive traces. Silver Wolf, Black Swan, JQ and Pela all have EHR/ATK/ElementDMG on their traces, so there's a pattern for some Nihility characters. So I'd say Acheron and Rappa are most unique there.
I use destruction mc tech when doing the sim u challenges like unknowable domains and gng when I got hit by the lose 99% HP lotto curio though, I wouldn't say it's useless

Sparkle trace only for quantum is so weak as all other quantum characters is weak as well 😂. Ruan Mei, Robin, Sunday > Sparkle, Feixiao, Acheron, Ff, Boothill, Yunli > seele, qq, Jiaoqiu, Pela> sw, Aventurine, Lingsha, Huohuo > Fu xuan 😂. What a loser element. All other elements have at least 1 to be in tier 0 but only Jade in T0 for quantum and pf is so easy anyways and even she not good for mono quantum.😂
I don't really think you can call a video "Most useless abilities" when most of your points are directed towards meta or the hardest content in the game. It would be like calling Dan Heng useless because Fei Xio exsists.
dan heng was probably the worst example, better to say natasha as a more necessary role but i see the spirit. the thing is i consider acheron's technique outside of general end game useful, it shaves hours of farming same with numby chest finding. but the ones i listed here even then would have a hard time finding use in overworld content. physical mc if the casual game wasnt so easy and had a million hp beacons would be useful but thats not this game, same with arlans bad condition. if a technique is only useful in the overworld (very rarely even then), when every other technique does something in overworld on any enemy AND end game makes for a pretty compelling argument that they are relatively the most useless no?
It's extremely useful and was core to the hyperspeed Bronya build that was the gold standard before Sunday arrived. By speedtuning Bronya such that her basics will advance her to just behind the DPS, it lets you generate SP while still doubling your carry's turns.
Bronya having a major trace that gives defense for only two turns (a harmony unit shouldn’t give defensive stats that’s the job of abundance and preservation), that major trace that gives her 100 crit on basic (you will only use her skill), and her talent advancing her after using basic. Not to be that person but no wonder that Sunday is a huge upgrade to her by being sp neutral/positive and having way more buffs than her.
Every old character abilities are useless because they cannot do 69 trillion damages to those stupid buffed monsters especially in MoC Pure fvckion or Annoying shadow or something I don't care to remember those useless end game content name lmao 🤣
They aren't entirely worthless because you need him to be constantly losing health, so him being able to heal himself a little extra is nice. They aren't very good but they are better then nothing

Not really, in fact, I'd argue it's her best Eidolon even. 30% SPD boost could easily make you run many DPS's using ATK boots while making use of the -1 speed strat I'm gonna use my team as example for this. From fastest to slowest, my team is: Aventurine (145) Pela (140) Acheron (135) Bronya (134) Acheron's main objective is to spam her ULT, and since my Acheron is e2s1, with this strat I can make 5 slashed dreams in one go (Acheron basic, two stacks, then Bronya skill, then Acheron skill and gains an extra 3) With e2 Bronya, I can make this happened with an ATK boots Acheron instead, which will be a good increase to Acheron's DMG Acheron has a base speed of 101, with the 30% speed boost from Bronya's e2, it's around 131 or so. All you'd need is 5-7 extra points in speed to make Acheron surpass Bronya from the first skill onward (saying that it only lasts for 1 turn and that it isn't enough can't be used as an argument, since Bronya's skill also lasts a single turn, meaning you have to spam it.) So basically, with e2 Bronya, once you use your first skill ever on Acheron, Acheron will be destined to go before Bronya the SPD boost is gonna disappear after the attack, but since Bronya has to spam her skill, Acheron will act again, and what will happen when Acheron acts again, the SPD boost will be received right after, thus making Acheron faster again to attack before Bronya, meaning she's gonna get the same amount of stacks she'd get with e0-1 Bronya, while also dealing DMG thanks to the ATK boots that she can use. Same thing could apply to someone like Blade. With e2 Bronya you could use HP boots instead. Although... I will say that I'm a casual HSR player, and not really competitive, so my knowledge about the speed stat (which I heard it's a little hard) isn't as big and I could be wrong in everything here. Nor do I have e2 Bronya yet, meaning that I can't confirm. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, after all it'd be nice to learn more about it since I want to make my Acheron as strong as I can lol.

Very silly thing to say about a character who's incredible at buffing DOT, crit, and hybrid teams as well. Plus characters like Himeko and Xueyi still do a ton of talent damage even in superbreak teams, which you absolutely can't ignore if you want to get the most out of them

Unfortunately however once I got Firefly I sadly realized that the benefit of running Ruan Mei with others while massive is completely overshadowed by opportunity cost of not running her with superbreak team. As long as I use superbreak on any side, moving RM to the other side feels like throwing :/
You gotta remember that Ruan Mei came along months before SB did... they had to make her relevant to what was meta at the time else there'd be no reason to play her.

Due to how hard the enemies ST attacks hit in those modes, I've lost count how many times Gepard's revive came in clutch for me. So obviously not a useless ability, but also not relevant for many players since people are mainly using Aventurine and/or Lingsha in SU content at this point.
Not a passive but i noticed this on Yanqing, he has HP% traces. The character who relies on using a shielder with him and not having their health reduced...has HP% traces
I mean, Arlan has HP traces and his skill drain % hp... while he has one of the worst defenses in the game.
A lot of DPS are like this, they have a trace that has nothing to do with offense, even feixiao has a defense% trace for some reason, the only exceptions are the nihility DPSs (Kafka, black swan, Acheron)

Think about it like this instead. The first dps turn isn't actually when they get the most buffs on them, think of robin sparkle bronya who need to take 2 turns to access their ult.
This means on the first QQ turn you're not fully buffed so you don't want to waste all your sp immediately at the start of a fight and the technique helps you take less flips on turn 1
@ QQ is really slow, so she always goes last for me anyways.
You can use Destruction MC's technique to counter those bad Curios/Occurrences that reduce your HP to oblivion. A bit niche, but very useful since you can't use consumables in there.
This is true and there’s been times where this has genuinely been helpful (if I remembered it) but assuming you’re playing any Simulated Universe content older than Divergent Universe, that’s one of your download slots wasted. Something you already want to reserve for characters like Ruan Mei and your Adventure domain clearers.

Natasha's e6 basically makes her basic attack have less hp multiplier than lynx and huohuo basic.
I'll counter this:
Natasha having a base of 476 ATK and 423 ATK from a LC and 352 ATK from gloves with a 110% ATK multiplier would be equal to ~1137 damage, which is equal to about 2842 HP worth of scaling at 40%hp scaling
For that 1137 DMG to be made up by Lynx or Huohuo with 55 or 50% HP scaling would have to gain nearly 8000 to 11000 HP before they equal out
having added basic attack damage on Natasha's E6 certainly isn't the most desireable E6, but implying it's somehow a worse scaling basic attacker compared to Huohuo or Lynx is just factually wrong

Phys TB's technique is meant for VERY early game, when you don't have the means to just heal in-battle. Obviously it's not useful in mid-game or late-game, it was never meant to be used there in the first place...
That doesn't change the fact it's useless past that point even if it's designed for it. Just shows that Hoyo intentionally designed phys TB to be obsolete. A damage dealer shouldn't have a party-wide heal as part of their kit when it could've been something that boosts their damage or gain the initiative in battle instead.

Of course, they could've given him a dmg technique, but you can't act like that would change the fact that Phys TB is obsolete due to his overall kit; He has no special scalings that make it outstanding, neither does he have any significant self buffs, the restoration technique isn't made to be fully functional, it's a show that we are yet an un-experienced fighter just waking up from literally losing our memory, being abandoned by an old partner, and the best we can do is flow with it, we literally cheer up the party based on the line "Keep at it" and it's pretty clear the why, we can't do anything about the situation we're in other than to keep going, in my opinion, it's a perfect technique for the starting character.
It was just made to be an initial character, like in a lot of gacha games, you can't just expect any kind of these games to give us the most functional character right off the bat (Get it?). Besides, if you want to complain, Natasha, a healer, has a damage technique which is way more pointless in gameplay terms than Phys TB's one.
Small edit: In the current state, we got 2 forms of the MC way past the starting point who are actually really useful, it clearly shows the progression of the story, both Phys and Fire TB have uses in the state of the game we got them in.

Which is true, but gepard scaling on defense doesnt bother him that much. that stuff just charges his ult faster for taking those hits, then u pop it and get another health bar, and this cycle repeats while shielded and getting energy to ult again and get shield. again. Geppard shields fades on allies turn, not geppards, so faster allies get their shield off faster, which comes again to gepard being last standing due to him still having shield while allies are tanking raw dmg to the health bar. So yeah, geppard will be most of the time be among the last ones standing due to him having shield most of the time and just the high defense he gets. the only time i think geppard revive was usefull was battling the story mode of the giant fake blue bug emanator since he somehow got CC and focused by the boss and 4 minions following into a big detonation, before i could get to ult. But throwing a revive on the least likely unit to die... just doesnt make sense.
i think the only good think i can say about him is that if for whatever reason gepard dies first his revive doesnt count in the end as a downed teammate. you can still 3 star even if he dies once
But on the other hand, if you get Gepard on a new account, he's super cheap to build. You can basically only level up ult, and get def%
the fact you didn't even mention that Arlan's E4 is equally as entirely useless is insane, his other ascention buffs are also pretty much useless.

5:05 I sometimes use trailblazers technique during simulated universe runs where you get an occurrence that takes away 99% of your hp. useful for when you can get your hands on more purple juice but not heal juice before a fight.
Blades A2 and A4 passives are pretty bad too, also damaging techniques to enter combat got power crept insanely after acheron and have only become more irrelevant with more powerful dps with crazier techniques being released.

Pela/Luocha buff removes are a godsend when MOC has the reviving mara-struck minions though. Helps to avoid wasting moves killing them twice. (Their revive is a removable buff)
i have a idea as to how we buff Physical Trailblazer:
- Passive stack up to 10 times.
- technique now give buff instead of only healing: create a healing effect that last for 2 turns.
- passive healing now triggered when hitting broken enemy instead of when attacking enemy with physical weakness

Others are there, however Bailu and Gepard heals and shields respectively being increased and inserting them on a skill instead of their ults (invigoration for Bailu) would be way better along with cleanse and/or eff res would be appreciated.
3:33 I'm defending him here, I'm a big Sampo user since I've not a Kafka and am not keen with replacing him with Asta. The trace essentially lowers the requirement from 2 enemy hits (113) to 0 enemy hit required (123). with someone like Shared Feeling Huohuo, this means from using a skill twice with S4+ to using it never.
Might I instead offer Gepard's Grit? Sure, it makes his attacks feel stronger and all, but if you're relying on it then your dps is lackluster, any sustains that provides any buff to any other attacker would've done this job better, and you'd rather replace him with Aventurine anyway if you wanted both a dps and a sustain.
im hearing conflicting info from sampo mains, from my circle, ideally sampo gets hit a lot anyway because thats kinda just dot wanting them to move, and sampo is deadweight without skill spamming and the energy req is low enough so they call it useless.

I'll like to recommend one, Sparkle's A2 trace, "When using Basic Attack, additionally regenerates 10 Energy". Meanwhile, Sparkle already gets a 3 turn ultimate spamming skills. Easily could have been something else to separate herself from the other Harmony characters.
its actually useful if you know what you are doing. particularly 0 cycleing and not everytime you need to pull the dps. this talent helps in her maintaining her 3 turn rotation.

@@darkkforce I have to agree on the disagree. Sparkle and Lingsha both have the same trace that make BA give as much energy as possible for ult, but since Lingsha is made to not spam Skillpoint, that trace actually benefit more on her than on Sparkle.
Say, changing that trace into "When Sparkle recovered Skillpoint, she gain 10 Energy" - making that standout more for her. Her Ult basically regenerate back an extra 10 more Energy (fixed the wording abit and it might become 40 Energy restored), but still maintaining her same old passive. This would work way better for her, considering that she is a very skill-dependent character, and 90% of the time you would want to use her Skill.
I imagine you could use that to get skill points for DanIL or such, but with two other teammates also doing that, it shouldn’t be that big of a problem 😅

arlan has to have one of the saddest lives in gaming history not only his kit is way clunkier and terrible than xinyan but he also gets little to no screentime in events nor quest to even build up a decent fanbase

Besides, having less than 50% HP condition means Yanqing should somehow get to that HP point first, which is something he doesn't want to do, ideally he'd rather not take any damage at all, so as much as I hate him, this bit does make sense
sparkle's basic attacks giving more energy
Physical MC's technique is actually quite useful in higher stages of Simulated Universe. Imagine you have that lottery curio that gives you curios, but also may lose you all hp? So what happens if it self destructs, there are no healing capsules? You can either pray your characters will not die before your sustain heals everyone to full, or you could just switch to DMC, click your fingers ~3 times, and go as if nothing happened. This is the only use case for this ability, but it saved my runs enough times to say it's not useless

@@SoiWasTaken you may have to bring a character that doesn't help your run much and it may not be optimal (like on nihility you are giving up trend or smth) and you have to win a fight with that (which can cause you to end up in a worse state) and if you go into a lot of occurrences that one fight may be a boss fight that may just end your run then and there.
Destruction MC's heal does not require you to go into a fight and most techniques aren't that important so using some points on it has no downsides besides needing to download the MC (Preservation MC is good for a number of teams anyways) and the MC does not need to enter battle to heal.
Being at full hp is extremely important for Clear Lucite Body too.
I genuinely cannot believe a hero as recent as Rappa would have a completely dead ability (her skill), that shit does nothing except act as a supbar energy battery. The damage numbers feel like a joke😭

Phys trailblazer actually can be quite useful but it's pretty rare and just for simulated universe, such as when you trigger the events that bring your hp extremely low. There are sveeral ofthem that bring you down to almost zero hp.
I've actually found a specific case where stelle's healing technique is useful but it requires the player to literally shut down their brains to the point of getting to 1% on everyone and bricked on a boss for it to be useful 😂
In SU/DU there are some occurrences that can do that as well as there is a curio that does that.
tbh i feel like bronyas trace that advances her when she uses a normal attack is aktivly hurting her perfomarnce if you run out skill points and are forced to use her attack so she advances and ruins the speed tuning.

When it comes to Dan Heng, it really feels like he was designed to work well with the other members of the Astral Express. He combo's very well with Welt and March can keep the heat off of him.

(if someone doesnt get what I mean, a Hunt char have 3 aggro and 50% means only 1.5 and in a normal Hunt team Yanqing have 3/12 chance to get attack but if Dan Heng activate the trace and get low Yanqing would have 3/10.5 chance of getting attack)

This is because he doesn't get that much value from superbreak like ff and rappa, he is more of break dps that scale with enemy hp. This is why his lc give break effect so he can focus on other stat such as speed and critdmg/rate since he have crit rate traces already character like sunday is perfect upgrade for him because sun day is skill point neutral in his ult and give both crit rate and crit damage.

When i look for older posts, many people praised Bronya and Gepard. Now they are being said as useless. Kinda weird, because of course if compared to limited characters, they would not be as amazing as the limited.
Maybe it happens since the introduction of overpowered Robin and Aventurine. It's kinda unfair tho comparing standard with limited.
But i guess it's because standard characters in HSR are actually quite good in carrying the players throughout the early-mid content for a longer time. I feel like in some other games their standard characters were unusable after lesser period of time. So i'm pleasantly surprised that standard characters in HSR are actually not so bad.

physical tb heal actually saved my simulated universe run its not useless and its the only char that can do that
may i suggest Blade's a4:
If Blade hits a Weakness Broken enemy after using Forest of Swords, he will restore HP equal to 5% of his Max HP plus 100.
the ability isn't USELESS, but the self healing is so minor it usually makes very little difference (especially if you use a component healer) when Blade would prefer a damage buff way more instead noawadays
Bronya's 100% crit rate on basics is completely useless unless you have her E4, which only works sometimes and you're not going to build her for dmg regardless
It can occasionally be used to kill weak adds at the end of a cycle or wave of enemies, so I don't hate it. You are building max crit dmg on her after all
Even if the passive was given to Yanqing it would still be pretty useless since you don't want him to even take a single hit of damage no less 50% of his health, if your Yanqing is that dead your alr gonna lose
Firefly's E4 that is just a flat 40% effect res
Actually Arlan’s Trace can be triggered in Divergent Universe by a Blue Destruction blessing that halves your team HP at the start of battle in exchange for a fat shield.

I mean ALL characters have at least 1 defensive stats like HP Def or Effect Res it’s not just him (the only character in game that lacks them is Acheron afaik)
@@Nyx309 Rappa has ATK/SPD/BE so I think we could consider this offensive traces. Silver Wolf, Black Swan, JQ and Pela all have EHR/ATK/ElementDMG on their traces, so there's a pattern for some Nihility characters. So I'd say Acheron and Rappa are most unique there.

Natasha's Technique for starting a battle is such a wasted potential. She's a healer why give her DPS style Technique.
I use destruction mc tech when doing the sim u challenges like unknowable domains and gng when I got hit by the lose 99% HP lotto curio though, I wouldn't say it's useless

OMG I JUST COMMENTED THE SAME!!! On top of her defense major trace that only lasts 2 turns, Sunday really outclassed her in every scenario

Sparkle trace only for quantum is so weak as all other quantum characters is weak as well 😂. Ruan Mei, Robin, Sunday > Sparkle, Feixiao, Acheron, Ff, Boothill, Yunli > seele, qq, Jiaoqiu, Pela> sw, Aventurine, Lingsha, Huohuo > Fu xuan 😂. What a loser element. All other elements have at least 1 to be in tier 0 but only Jade in T0 for quantum and pf is so easy anyways and even she not good for mono quantum.😂

I don't really think you can call a video "Most useless abilities" when most of your points are directed towards meta or the hardest content in the game. It would be like calling Dan Heng useless because Fei Xio exsists.
dan heng was probably the worst example, better to say natasha as a more necessary role but i see the spirit.
the thing is i consider acheron's technique outside of general end game useful, it shaves hours of farming same with numby chest finding. but the ones i listed here even then would have a hard time finding use in overworld content.
physical mc if the casual game wasnt so easy and had a million hp beacons would be useful but thats not this game, same with arlans bad condition. if a technique is only useful in the overworld (very rarely even then), when every other technique does something in overworld on any enemy AND end game makes for a pretty compelling argument that they are relatively the most useless no?
i'm surprised bronya's action advance after using her basic wasn't mentioned.. it's never been useful to me once
It's extremely useful and was core to the hyperspeed Bronya build that was the gold standard before Sunday arrived. By speedtuning Bronya such that her basics will advance her to just behind the DPS, it lets you generate SP while still doubling your carry's turns.

Bronya having a major trace that gives defense for only two turns (a harmony unit shouldn’t give defensive stats that’s the job of abundance and preservation), that major trace that gives her 100 crit on basic (you will only use her skill), and her talent advancing her after using basic. Not to be that person but no wonder that Sunday is a huge upgrade to her by being sp neutral/positive and having way more buffs than her.

They aren't entirely worthless because you need him to be constantly losing health, so him being able to heal himself a little extra is nice. They aren't very good but they are better then nothing
@TheMirksta I don't think they're better than nothing, they're completely negligible when keeping in mind any competent healer will overheal him anyways. The only other DPS I can recall having purely sustain traces is Destruction MC lol.

Not really, in fact, I'd argue it's her best Eidolon even. 30% SPD boost could easily make you run many DPS's using ATK boots while making use of the -1 speed strat
I'm gonna use my team as example for this. From fastest to slowest, my team is:
Aventurine (145)
Pela (140)
Acheron (135)
Bronya (134)
Acheron's main objective is to spam her ULT, and since my Acheron is e2s1, with this strat I can make 5 slashed dreams in one go (Acheron basic, two stacks, then Bronya skill, then Acheron skill and gains an extra 3)
With e2 Bronya, I can make this happened with an ATK boots Acheron instead, which will be a good increase to Acheron's DMG
Acheron has a base speed of 101, with the 30% speed boost from Bronya's e2, it's around 131 or so. All you'd need is 5-7 extra points in speed to make Acheron surpass Bronya from the first skill onward (saying that it only lasts for 1 turn and that it isn't enough can't be used as an argument, since Bronya's skill also lasts a single turn, meaning you have to spam it.)
So basically, with e2 Bronya, once you use your first skill ever on Acheron, Acheron will be destined to go before Bronya
the SPD boost is gonna disappear after the attack, but since Bronya has to spam her skill, Acheron will act again, and what will happen when Acheron acts again, the SPD boost will be received right after, thus making Acheron faster again to attack before Bronya, meaning she's gonna get the same amount of stacks she'd get with e0-1 Bronya, while also dealing DMG thanks to the ATK boots that she can use. Same thing could apply to someone like Blade. With e2 Bronya you could use HP boots instead.
Although... I will say that I'm a casual HSR player, and not really competitive, so my knowledge about the speed stat (which I heard it's a little hard) isn't as big and I could be wrong in everything here. Nor do I have e2 Bronya yet, meaning that I can't confirm. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, after all it'd be nice to learn more about it since I want to make my Acheron as strong as I can lol.

Ironically one of the most useless traces among the most popular characters is Ruan Mei's damage bonus because most people play her in superbreak anyway.
She is still a good general support for most dpses, especially blade who doesn’t benefit from robin as much as other dpses
Very silly thing to say about a character who's incredible at buffing DOT, crit, and hybrid teams as well. Plus characters like Himeko and Xueyi still do a ton of talent damage even in superbreak teams, which you absolutely can't ignore if you want to get the most out of them

Unfortunately however once I got Firefly I sadly realized that the benefit of running Ruan Mei with others while massive is completely overshadowed by opportunity cost of not running her with superbreak team. As long as I use superbreak on any side, moving RM to the other side feels like throwing :/
You gotta remember that Ruan Mei came along months before SB did... they had to make her relevant to what was meta at the time else there'd be no reason to play her.
if she didn't have it she would be a terrible unit that's useless in 90% of the teams tho
