Madam Herta was going to be a Bounce unit like Misha but on Skill before the Dripmarketing. Looking now, it's better not. Basically her AoE damage was going to be similar in single target. Bounce is OP.
RMC buffs hits per action next patch Imagine a unit that has Bounce Skill (Dmg Source) While his ult makes Bounce Atk only one target Or a support that increases Bounce instances
Another one that was left out: Slowing down enemy speed. We have seen it with Wind Dan, and Welt. It not only works as an sort of "sustain alternative" as by the oponnents not taking their turn they can't kill you, nor even use their abilities(which can be good if the enemy has somethinf particulary annoying). And we also saw them gaining advantage from enemies being slowed down. However we didn't see much more of this archetype, such as characters who gain benefit from enemies being slowed, or ones that can slow down enough that they are as effective as an normal sustain Edit: Also, freeze. Which funnily enough is another form of pseudo sustain as it can help delay the oponnents actions but in an different way. We have units like March, Jingliu(with technique) and Misha, but to this day there is no good character that focuses on said mechanic. Like maybe an DPS whose damage comes from amplifying the freeze damage the oponnent takes at the start of their turn. Or maybe an character whose special gimmick is increased capabilities if the turn order is not altered, thus benefiting from freeze(in which the oponnents actions does still continue in the bar) rather than the previous slowing down enemies strat. There's just an lot of stuff that could be done with it
Freeze and slow aren't iterated upon due to being way better than a sustain, having an easy and consistent access to freeze or big slow basically makes selling a sustain after this, pretty hard.
@asafesseidonsapphire Well the disatvantage is that as long as the freeze/speed reduction ain't completely preventing the enemy, normal sustains could still thrive in other scenarios. Such as in longer fights, in which freeze and speed reduction can't recover the damage you slowly take, whereas shielding prevents that damage alk together, and healing can be recovering said hp. And another niche for shielders is against attacks that can 1 hit k-o your characters. There are other gimmicks that in the future could synergyze more with normal sustains, but at the moment ain't really relevant though
I think Silver Wolf being so single-target locked is what is holding Mono-Quantum back from being good. Her kit being single target just makes it disgustingly under-tuned for even 2-target scenarios. I think we could also really use a Mono-Quantum DPS too, one that is more up to date with the current powercreep.
its funny that silver wolf is the only five star that's powercrept by a four star character(pela). her weakness implant isnt that useful nowadays since firefly and soon to be fugue will break weakness regardless of type. and pela, while provides less defense shred than silver wolf, she applies it to everyone and not just 1 guy, making her more useful for acheron
@@Shane_A_M tbf he does have a niche of carrying people who are absolute dogshit at the game with auto heals but yea apart from that him and all other healers who isn't named huohuo got powercrept by gally
i feel like we are one furina type character away from glueing blade and jingliu/jade together as a hp drain team sure for jingliu its used as a counterbalance mechanic but what if there was a character that added bonus scaling to attacks for every 1% of max HP a character loses or consumes from their own or teammates hp inbetween before their next attack. so all types of hp consumption mechanics would count under this JL enhanced skill and ultimate draining teams hp blades skill cast/the cost for his enhanced basic/his ult dropping his hp to 50% Jades Debt Collector status would add on top of that and either getting hit which blade wants to do and JL wouldnt mind
I wish the freeze debuff was explored more. Right now, it's only good for characters who specifically require debuffs (Ratio) and DoT units since the enemy action advance helps proc the DoTs more often.

I think now that the gates of ignoring weakness has opened up mono element may come back. A dps that can ignore weakness and needs other teammates of the same element to get bonuses (a la Acheron) Also unrelated, but I hope we one day get a character (maybe DoT) that has mechanics similar to Genshin's elemental reactions. Like a character who can take burn and freeze and make frostburn or something, or physical and entanglement for detachment or whatever it'd be called and etc. I'm not saying this has to become a core game mechanic, but having it on a character, or maybe have it become a niche for DOT, would be interesting to see. Edit: I realize that there is a whole separate video about this where people had the same idea. At least I'm not alone
Probably they have planned for many of them, like HP Manipulation will become meta at some point like Super Break now is, same with Basic Attacks, mono type and maybe even mono path or almost mono with 3 of the character having same type / following same path. In these types of games, dpses do as much as their supports allow, characters like Blade or DHIL don't have their dedicated support like all meta characters, but they will add them at some point to keep things unique.
They can buff old unit by new mechanic such as. Weakness implant , unit with new kit that instant apply break effect but remove element weakness for 1 turn , so it like reverse break team. Mono team buff , maybe add more bonus like 25% of the 4set's element relic set if do same element team? but I think it would be too op in some element. Dot extend , maybe something more like Nihility who do more damage or dubuff if dot last longer.
I remember when at the start of the game people analyzed kits and talked about future potential of them... And nothing changed much. It feels that Hoyo had a lot of ideas and instead of polishing them, they decided to ignore most of them, (It took from the start of the game to almost be in the 3.0 for they to finally fix the biggest flaw of Jing Yuan, who had a lots of buffs to finally be good. And we all know that the only reason they fixed it is because of Remembrance) going for hypercarry at the start of the game then they decided to go for Break and FUA. Now Seele is a joke, a E6 Seele damage is sad, compared to Feixiao for example.
i saw a feixiao 0 cycle clear, they use the weaker version of her ult against the scenario to reduce the dmg and maximising a cycle. i liked what they did but to be fair, its very niche and having 1 button or auto attacks that switches automatically to the prefer weapon type will hurt like 0.0000001% players or those who want to see the aesthetic

Not for most Dps later on like Acheron, Feixiao
