Destruction TB is a very weird concept in general, because if you just doubled their Skill and Ultimate Damage Multiplicators, they would actually compete in Today's Meta because their Kit is so well rounded and designed. They gain Energy when the Battle Starts, they are encouraged to Inflict Weakness Break on Enemies because of their Crit Buff and ATK% Buff; they gain Energy when defeating enemies, making them a promising choice on PF because they can Battery their own Ultimate by slaying weaker enemies. Physical Weak Enemies heal them, also encourage them to run Sustainless on PF. They are actually still referenced as being a "Baseball Bat" wielding hero, calling themselves the "Galacting Baseballer" and even has an in-game Character based around this version of them. I can't help but feel HYV might have actually messed up their scaling and made them weaker than intended. Even if they have no real Lightcones that synergize with them, outside of Under The Blue Sky and The Moles Welcome You, they have such a good all-rounded kit I'm real shocked it just doesn't do enough damage to justify their investment. Actual missed opportunity.
It is quite the missed opportunity Speaking as a Trailblazer lover and main, I initially wanted to main Trailblazer as Destruction first, since I enjoyed bonking enemies But due to SUCH LOW scaling, it made me focus on Harmony Trailblazer first, which don't get me wrong, is REALLY strong, but I just enjoyed Destruction Trailblazer alot. If only they had good scalings :')
DMC being weak but having balanced kit is a proper way to introduce the game to the newbies while making them have the urge to pull for strong characters.
I personally wish that RMC will be a subdps characters. Based on how Sunday is a hypercarry summon support, it would be weird for a gacha game to make one form of the mc an hypercarry... So, I presume he will be the Hunt March or Moze equivalent for Summon characters. Does dmg on their own, but also supports the team with small buffs
The MC can be a hypercarry, that is; if he has The Hunt or maybe his Nihility form. This is because the MC's later forms should be powerful because of lore reasons.
Another thing about FMC. They are also designed to give player a sure chance to complete story. That is why they were the first charater who had taunt to mitigate enemy rng.
Agreed, the banner placement is downright diabolical. Maximizes FOMO for Sunday, makes Fugue seem very appealing since we now know of RMC (not their power level or archetype, but based off the strength of HMC it's a good bet they'll be strong). While drip feeding us Aglaea, Herta and a whole bunch of exciting new characters, most of who will likely be related to the summon meta... there's going to be a lot of players ditching their f2p or low spender habits, all according to plan lol.
I think it’s this right here that kills star rail for me. Story is great, art and design are top notch, I just wish I could buy the game and play it because no matter how generous they may be Gacha games run off not fear of missing out but fear of being left behind. For example I missed Ruan Mei both times, wasting 40ish of free pulls and dropped $20 for an extra $10 both times and missed her. Which meant my super break team stayed pretty sub optimal, sure I could technically clear higher difficulties with what I have but it would come with such a time invested and grind all to replace some bad rng. I guess I just get frustrated, I look at something like Warframe and wish Star Rail was using that F2P model instead, I would happily grind for a week to unlock a character because at least that’s a tangible end goal.
I think remembrance will be similar to nihility, providing buffs instead of debuffs while doing damage and having a natural synergy with units of the same path. Some will be more focused on doing damage with their summon similar to dot, while others will focus more on buffing the team like standard nihility focus on debuffing the enemy. This would allow remembrance focused teams as well as give them a spot as supports on other teams. The livestream pretty much confirmed they will all have summons, but that doesnt mean they will or will not have superbreak and is likely going to separate summons from follow-up without taking follow-up off the table completely.
Very succinct! I am SO excited for the Remembrance path - it's so up my alley as far as gameplay fantasy goes. Summoning is just never not fun, and as a longtime King Yuan lover and Sunday apologist, this is a very exciting time for me!
By the time Phantylia's the next boss you need to beat, Destruction MC is obsolete. By the time Sunday is the next boss, Preservation MC is obsolete and crowded out. Harmony MC, is powerful enough to not be as powercrept for the niche, but obviously Remembrance is for a different team archetype entirely. I oftentimes think of March, Gepard and Preservation MC in 1.0-1.6, and the weird balancing choices they made. Both March and Gepard being ice seems like a redundant choice, but if the purpose of it was to make Gepard marketed as a direct upgrade to March, it'd make sense. As a player who, up to this day, still hasn't pulled Gepard at all, I did use Preservation TB and Preservation March even as late as 2.5 or so for a cope shielder 😆 in teams where I couldn't use SB. But now that I've pulled Aventurine, and have Hunt March, I have no reason to use either again
Same, 1.0 player and still gepardless (and Claraless), I remember beating swarm disaster V with cope triple sustain fire mc + march + luocha. I'm so glad I pulled aventurine in 2.1, I got 36* MOC for the first time with him
@curryfishheadenjoyer back when we had the abundant ebon deer in the story, my team died except Nat and Preservation TB, and I kept them both alive and TB kept attacking till the deer was dead 💀💀 that was my second attempt it was horrible. By the time Phantylia came around it was definitely a moment for me to build my characters 💀
I only got Aventurine this week : sure is an upgrade ! but i cleared the previous AS with March-Shield in a Feixiao team : at E6 and with Clara, her thick shield makes for a fun combo ! i'll probably keep her for the story, as i do it with the Nameless characters
Good video and, as usual, it must be stressed that this discussion is ONLY about end-game modes (included SimUni hard modes) For story, so far, the 4* we are given are enough (provided they are build correctly and the game instructions are followed). And i have the feeling that the large majority only care about story and have never heard of 0-cycle As i have cleared AS two times without Ruan Mei or HarmonyMC (Acheron & Feixiao), at this point i do not care much about what RemembranceMC will be. Although i am hoping that instead of DPS it would be some sort of "support" role that makes him as important as Sunday in this playstyle (maybe some Summons healing ?)
When harmony mc came out, I thought destruction mc's kit wouldve made a quite decent superbreak dps. I kinda wish they implemented some sort of power up to destruction mc to bring them up to par with standard 5 stars at some point, maybe locked behind say a swarm disaster type sim uni expansion for nanook. With the mc often addressed as the galactic baseballer, its a shame that form has to be left weak after fulfilling the starter unit function.
Remembrance is interesting and I wonder what path identity they'll carve out. I'm taking inspiration from SimU as my speculation for how the Path will work, but the main traits of the Remembrance path in SimU/DU was Inflicting Freeze + Mainintaing Freeze + Dissociation. Inflicting Freeze - there are a lot of blessings that effect EHR and increase enemy chances of being frozen Maintaining Freeze - SimU has Eonian River from the Path Resonance, which doubles debuff duration Dissociate - dealing "true" damage i.e. chunking % of enemy HP Baseline, Remembrance characters will want to maintain their memosprites on field but I think there may be interplay in extending buffs or debuffs which gives them synergy with majority of other characters' kits/paths. This could mean new supports can have more limited yet potent buffs & debuffs i.e. 50% Defense Shred for 1 turn but say with RMC, it could extend the debuff for a turn. The true damage piece IDK how it will work as it feels like it will be really broken outside of it's contained environment in SimU/DU. IDK, I'm interested to see what Hoyo cooks with the new path. Cautious optimism I'll say :]
The thing i found weird is that during the livestream they showed that our summon Mem can get Shields from Aventurine which mean they're "separate" from the character with their own HP. Here's my prediction of how they are gonna work: -they're gonna give the team a passive buff think of it like Ruan Mei giving speed -they can get destroyed -when they attack they'll give a deffuf or buff -they might have an activation method like the specters in the New Simulated Universe so when they die you have to do something to get them back to Life - You cannot change their place in the action value without Sunday or another support So in conclusion let's see what the devs are cooking
Yeah the memetic are their own entities and the fact that they can get hit by enemies , healed/shielded , opens up a lot of possibilities for the Remembrance path and the memetics Like maybe each memetic has a different kit (like f.ex. dps, able to taunt enemies etc.)
This is simple, here's what you should do. When Fugue comes out, just win 50/50 in one ten pull to get her. By the time 3.0 comes out, you have enough tickets to get Aglaea. This is too easy ^__^
I really wish they would set the alternate path characters as different selectable characters (with the restriction of using one obvi) because there are times in SU and DU where you might want to use preservation march or MC but obviously theyre set to their universality better paths And now with RMC that conflicts with the very useful HMC so we actually need this
Its funny that RMC is gonna come out and likely be great whereas the genshin traveller is about to get their second to last element and still be one of the worst characters in the game 🙃🤣
