I just noticed (2 years after first listening to the song) that the outro is a 5-bar repeated pattern, and Ben normally only does 4- or 3-bar patterns. Always nice to see him trying new things in his music!
Kier bro! Thanks for the quick upload (wieismirdenn..) :P ... Have to say, I think the sound and whole setup is "special". Need to listen to it a few times but I like the drums!! HELLO KYLE! :D The forward going drums is something I always welcome!
I love this I went to Bens show in 2018 Oct NYC and it was great also Wye Oak opened for him which Lead singer Jen is wearing the yellow jumpsuit. Then in 2020 March In Brooklyn I went to see Wye Oak show and she was amazing thanks for Bens show i got exposed to her and sandy her show was the week before life was normal then the Covid-19 hit the United States baldy.
Look I love Ben Howard and what he gave me in terms of inspiration on the first two albums, it wouldn’t be right for me to turn away from him just because I don’t necessarily understand this album. It’s just hard for me to latch to because I don’t get the message as clearly. What I do know, is that even on this album, he’s clearly a musical genius but I think I’m just not bright enough to completely comprehend it 😂
I mean i think his music is very "poetic" and makes so he can understand it and leaves the audience for interpretation to there own thought of what they think it means so I don't think his music is ment for ppl to understand the way he sees it but for to let them interprit it in there own thoughts
Cush Cuthbertson-Sewer It's not on youtube anymore. It's on dailymotion, though. Link below. Letterman gets his name wrong and is quite rude. www.dailymotion.com/video/x2gapb7
Oliver M. Canstree Thanks for the share! Evidence that Ben wasn't made for mainstream media. SMH at Letterman. Gets Ben's name wrong and "I forgot where we are"? Like really? I guess he didn't have the prompter to tell him what to say...
I've seen him live twice. This is not how he sounds. On both tours, his sound guy sucked, but still a good show, though this last tour was way better than the one before.
How to kill your own career... think it is sad. He has so many brilliant songs. Conrad, the end of the affair, etc...it is his choice, but I'm free to regret it. Saw him 3 times live. The last one with his new songs couldn't tip the knees of the first 2 ( think it was 2009 and 2011). Thank god we have records.
Well just have to see where he takes his music. You gotta break a few eggs to make an omlette, so maybe he'll be able to turn what he learnt from noonday dream into something even better in his next album
Dirk Mertens his new album had just came out, he wasn’t gonna play an old song. Also this song is kind of a sped up of version of Conrad so you should like it
Noonday Dream is incredible but I understand a lot of people don’t like it because it’s different. Personally, I think he is almost anti-fame now. The album gives that impression and so does his stage demeanour now. I think everyone will realise the genius of this album a long time from now.

this is song is waaaaaaaaaay underrated
My favourite on the album is Nica Libres at Dusk, so beautiful 👌👌👌
It is unbelievable how they keep up coming up with new variations in his songs. Love Noonday and all of the rest.

The sound engineer must really hate his job..
Yeah agree, so sad. Nice version of the song otherwise
Obviously loves his job if he's this good at it

Hmm interesting, is this Ben Howard's first debut on an American TV show?
No, he played IFWWW on Letterman
Are you sure? I don't see that on youtube. I see a performance of IFWWW on Jools Holland not Letterman.

Best version of the song so far but ben YOU HAVE SO MANY GREAT, MORE DYNAMIC SONGS on noonday dream. Why
this is my favorite song off the album
It's Ben xD It's what he does. Don't expect anything. He'll just do what he wants lol. Love him and hate him for that xD
