I looked In the manual and didn’t see the ludicrous sound. Maybe they took it off? Hopefully we will get a ludicrous option after we all take delivery.

They’re going to CHARGE for the ludicrous upgrade is my bet…
If it get 2.7s 0-60 or less, it will be worth another $5k. If they get it to match the model X’s 2.5, that’s worth $10k, imo.

I respect your opinion, but there is no way I would drop 5k for .2s. That's just me though, it's going to be my daily driver and I will not be tracking it. I do wish I could have ordered mine with the 19s though.

I thought even though the new rear motor was capable but the limitation of the battery that wouldn’t allow for a software power increase

John how do you thnk it will pull over 60 vs the current one which kind of falls flat above 60 - also above 60 range drops off super fast on current battery , also will the battery still only accept 80% SOC per TESLA for normal driving ? seems like no real BATTERY IMPROVEMENTS here 80% soc rule and charging time which is disappointing to me

Does this mean ludicrous will be a new model? Or can you purchase the ludicrous upgrade and add it to the Model 3 Performance you already own?
Nope, the ludicrous unlock will be available to all M3P highlands
It'd be great if the ludicrous mode was just added in the future for the "price of admission." But I do believe it'll probably be about a $3,000 software upgrade. What I'm also more curious about is if there'll be any other features the upgrade comes with. I don't think it'll really need a higher top speed, but I could see it increased to 185mph if the aerodynamics can support it for track usage down a long back straight. I do hope it's not only available with the purchase of a different wheel and tire package for $10k or something... I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I believe the biggest reason why they haven’t added it is because they want to continue qualifying for the federal tax incentive, so keeping it below a price threshold is crucial, for now
Are you sure those motors could even spin high enough to allow a m3 to hit 185mph?
Aren't the plaids c.f. wrapped motors hitting just over 21,000rpm to do 200. And most of the p series du hit 15,000-18,000 rpm. 🤔

Last I heard it’s still in the books, likely will drop after M3P deliveries. LR with accel boost is too good that it may make the M3P not look as good
@@heyJohnEe you think it’s to good ? For me if I had the chance, I would 100% go with the performance, the price difference is just to small, especially when you factor the 1500-2000 for acceleration boost in :D
@Xeniix everyone is different, ofc I’d want a perf too but considering 50mi range difference between the 2 is huge for longer road trips. It’s 50mi I use daily vs a better 0-60 that I use once a year to impress friends
@@heyJohnEe I am absolutly happy with my LR highland and its 10x better then my 2021 SR :D Right now i really only wish for the acceleration boost because i would just like a little bit more punch while flooring the paddle :D BUT if i could decide right now, i would trade the range for the acceleration, adaptiv suspension, the front bumber, wheels and all :D I feel like range as a whole is to big of a concern for many... i drive 35.000km a year mostly autobahn and i dont se very often that 50km more would make a HUGE difference, either it would be the same supercharger anyway og maybe one further down, but then again you have to charge anyway :D
1) Are the rims different widths or just the tire sizes different front/back.
2) How do I get the federal rebate on a red model? Looks like it is above the $55k limit?
The rims are different. Red previously qualified now it doesn’t

@@csmoore with an offset you can push the rim further from the chassis allowing you to use larger tire.
My m3p got pushed back to July -aug delivery. Grey with black interior. Originally stated may-jun. Hopefully they push it back again so I can get a 2025 lol

So far we know they’re working on a track package with zero G wheels, likely similar to the unlock we’ve seen on plaids. There’s recent info in the codes regarding a performance limit unlock but not sure if related

I think Tesla gives a slower horsepowered number so that they can sell out the older models in their inventory. And once their old stock is cleared, then they will bump up the new car's horse power !

They always underrated their model 3 P numbers, it’s was rated 450hp but made 500whp on dyno.
So if I understand this right, the only thing I'll be missing out on as an early delivery M3P reservation holder, are the nicer looking wheels that they have in China? Rest will be SOFTWARE only?
Pretty much yeah, at least from what we know. They could be hiding something on the interior as well but it wasn’t disclosed

It’s inevitable with how quick things move. Look at the Model S and X Plaids, within 2 weeks after first deliveries they’ve updated the screen to be able to tilt, changed the Plaid logo, added a better MCU and ram to play steam games, changed the entire rear tail light and the list goes on. I’d say the M3P is already seeing some changes going into production that differs from what was shown earlier. So far the M3P already has a different steering panel and haptic capacitive buttons, that’s the most recent update
@@heyJohnEe Yeah you're right. And I hate it! Haha. I waited over a year for our 23 Model X and a few months after we finally received it (one of the first refreshed Model X) they updated the rear screen to be bigger. At least I have the swivel screen.

I am a little confused on this video. Are you saying that people who get early builds of the M3P will be lacking upgrades or features and later builds this year will have enhancements?
Sorry for any confusion. All M3P built will have this unlock available when it’s eventually offered
@@heyJohnEe I appreciate the clarification. But if the unlock is a pay wall software locked upgrade on the M3P I will be sitting that one on out. Due to my M3P order will be a 3 year lease vehicle. I am not a big fan of SW limiting features and then trying to extract more money from clients after the fact. Even more so if these enhancements are not transferable, and if would like to stay in the Tesla family.
@rocketbrothers540 yeah I totally feel ya, especially when Tesla doesn’t offer a buyout option. Subscriptions make more sense in these scenarios, maybe Tesla will have to rethink it for leasing
@@heyJohnEe exactly, I have leased several cars and some of those cars I like so much I bought them at the end of the lease. I am curious why Tesla doesn’t offer this? Is it that these vehicles depreciations are wildly unknown? Yes, lifetime sub for one price or do monthly and annual subscriptions to unlock features.
@rocketbrothers540 they’ve said it from the beginning, all leased vehicles will be taken back and used as robotaxis in the future. Not sure if that still holds true but it’s the main reason why I guess

Stealth grey looks great and it's free, white always looks good, black I would personally pass on because it takes more work to keep it looking good

There is zero difference between US versus every other model aside from the battery is different but this doesn’t change the HP rating. US measure horsepower differently than basically every other country in the world which results in abnormally high HP but this is in figures only not actual HP. The models are basically all the same HP and that’s why the Performance is similar, adjust miles for KM’s and the results are the same. Same car regardless of where sold except for the battery
I'm German but live mostly in the US. All my cars have had mostly the same HP numbers between Germany and the US. Are you talking specifically about electric cars?
But thats it.. the LG battery C rating isnt capable to provide the necessary kW in discharge compared to the Panasonic, hence less performance- the battery is the limiting factor, the motors combined is a bit over 600hp which is more than the old one, but that isnt output, as they dont peak simultanious, the LG and Panasonic is clearly tested Already and the LG version is a lot slower!...I hate that we get a performance model in "limp" mode because of the 79kWh LG instead of the Panasonic 82kWh... (less range also) this is the dealbreaker for me... I wount order the new performance until they get their head out of their asses with this... in Europe the old performance has longer range and same 0-100kph as the new Highland LG performance variant, that sucks, due to the old one being delivered with the said Panasonic 82kWh battery, but not the new one in EU

Well I’ve said this before. I love the new M3P but I prefer the larger and faster Model S LR. Even at $20K plus premium I still prefer it. I’m actually waiting for the 2025 Model S LR or whatever it becomes. 😁
I don’t think it’s a comparison, the Model S is the top tier in most aspects even the LR is superior, but it’ll cost a pretty penny 🤩

The thing that gets me with the model S LR is the awful base wheels. There's no way I would go for the base wheels.
So you are forced then to go for the arachnid wheels and ... yikes.. $4500. There's already a big delta in price between the model 3 performance and the model S long range, but that additional $4.5K, for me, pushes it beyond the additional $ I'm willing to go for, above the price of the 3 performance.
I wish they'd offer the arachnids for a more reasonable upcharge - say $2K max.
Model S LR is actually slower with 0-60 at 3.1 sec and top speed limited only to 130mph 👎🏻
Tesla just pushed me out a whole two months, all the way to July to August, my loan gonna expire 🤦🏽♂️

maybe Tesla is planning on offering a paid Ludicrous software update for this car. In the US this allows most cars to qualify for the $7,500 federal tax incentive while providing Tesla with additional 100% margin revenue after the sale.
