If this version qualifies for the $7500 and priced slightly above the base RWD, would you take it over the Model 3 Performance? Here’s more info on the new model 3 limited performance ruclips.net/video/mZATmUvJCVs/видео.html
No and only because I live in the Midwest where we see snow four months out of the year. AWD is not a necessity but it does make life easier when the winter decides to get rough.
For the horse power junkies amongst us... no way, only the Performance model would suffice.. ;-)
Yeah if you have to deal with snow, AWD is still king
@GTI_CHHA lol 😂
Is the standard version software limited? (BTW I really appreciate that you are one of the few people that actively reply to your viewers making it feel more like a community)👍
The only thing Tesla has done well is hiding the model y juniper info.
You’re extremely du mb, there’s no info because it’s not coming this year, the model 3 was released in 2017 hence the refresh now in 2024, The model Y was released in 2020 can you see how du mb your comment is now
Quick calculation, current WLTP is 678km with 18' wheels, with that improved efficiency long range RWD would have 739km range. 650 - 700 km real world range sounds great to me!
I‘m so tired of all this spectacular bs.
Damn I have a performance coming this month. I think I will hold off for the rest wheel drive long range version. The sound system and lack of tax credit was holding me back. Thank you for this video.
You’d prefer the LR RWD over the perf? It’s def a great value. And no problem
@@heyJohnEe I’d prefer not to have to put a $10,000 down payment for the M3P lol.
Yeah true that
you sure these were slip-ups? I think this is referred to as "being played".
You’re on to something 👀
Love my 2018 model 3 LR RWD. I want to see the comparisons online with my older model. Everyone tends to forget Tesla offered this variant when the model 3 was new. The older LR RWD is also quicker than the Standard RWD.
The 2018 LR RWD was something special for sure. And yeah it’s also quicker than base RWD
It will have M3P batteries.
Not much info and this news could be fake but it has to have it in order to qualify for the 7500.
Hopefully Tesla still offers a performance software upgrade for the Model 3 Performance so that it can live up to its original Ludicrous name!
Definitely 💯
Yeah I’m sure that will happen, the day LR gets the acceleration boost.
No, battery has its limits. I hope for a real Ludicrous version with a new battery pack!
@@juniorhemelaer1115 That would be nice but I can’t wait for that. It’s taking long enough for delivery of my new Model 3 Performance!
@@juniorhemelaer1115 Yep, more likely this will happen then an acceleration boost or "track package"...I could see an incremental battery improvement released next year, hence why I'm keeping my 2019 P3 and not getting enticed by this current release.
Great update, John. I really enjoy your updates. Which battery chemistry do you anticipate?
Appreciate it! For it to qualify it would need to be NMC, at least for the US version of it
Thanks ❤ Tesla team for a good job of cleaning and produce a good model of car in the world
💯
Been waiting on a Model 3 RWD with white interior since February. Would jump on a LR RWD in a second especially if it qualifies for the 7500 tax credit. Do you really think this is coming soon. Crossing my fingers🤞
It’s definitely coming soon, this version is highly requested
@@heyJohnEe if I change my order from RWD to LR RWD, does the $250 deposit carry over. I’ve heard you can make 1 change without any loss of deposit. Am I correct in assuming this?
@wibathome it should carry over, ask your advisor to do this for you
I ordered the performance the first day and it just got pushed out from June to August- September 😢
Where are you located? It seems like there’s some probe into the US NMC batteries
@@heyJohnEe Georgia
I’ve heard a lot of people being pushed similar to you, not sure what’s the deal sadly
Model 3 lr rwd, wltp 650km?
Is it 650km WLTP? They’re usually less conservative in range estimates
FYI it won’t be the lightest Tesla model 3 ever. The original rear wheel drive using NMC chemistry was only about 3550 pounds
You are right, I forgot about the OG RWD, that thing was a beast at 0-60 being so light
Just wish it would be like 375 miles or so
That would be the sweet spot factoring in all weather conditions
You're extremely du mb, there's no leak because it's NOT coming this year, the model 3 was released in 2017 hence the refresh now in 2024,
The model Y was released in 2020 can you see how du mb your video is now ??
Yeah I see my video is quite dumb
@@heyJohnEe read my full
Comment and you’ll get why
One thing I missed out in the video and find quite odd, is the power consumption of this RWD is ever so slightly higher than the AWD I wonder why
Yes...strange
From what I see the power consumption of the reported new RWD Model 3 is 208Kw for the rear motor and there is no front motor.
The AWD version has the same 208Kw motor in the rear and there is a 158Kw motor in the front.
So this equals 366Kw which is not more than the 208Kw of the RWD version.
Not sure what you mean then.
Think it’s because it’s getting less regen braking over the same distance traveled?
Update: I was looking at the wrong numbers, my mistake!
You are correct the consumption is higher!
@taefravis oh haha for a sec I was second guessing myself and rewatched my own video to make sure. Yeah weird

Thank you John! Now I am waiting for the rumored variation of T3 with a Sportback / hatchback.
Oh my a sportback version would be incredible!! Dream car tbh
@heyJohnEe I think we'll have to wait for the next vehicle for a hatchback, John. If Model 3 was being updated with a hatch it would have happened already.
@jamespaul2587 same. No questions
Isn’t a rumored Model 3 hatchback would just be variant Model S with the latest styling update for 2024 M3 design?
@superman_ck_sv No, Model S is a totally different platform and a much more expensive vehicle that was never designed to be built in large volumes like the Model 3. It seems more likely that Model S and X will be discontinued at some point as Model 3 and Y are the volume vehicles currently.
