      yes i watch jelarts too but lately she's mostly doing sketchbooks which is inspirational but less useful as tutorials.
      but there are heaps of youtube channels and other web sites, all with their own emphasis and strengths. you need to look around and find art teachers who you most relate to.

      Same! I've been going *nowhere* in my art lately (for over a year) and I was trying to practice, and get better, but I just wasn't feeling it. So I stayed at the same art level I've been at for a *long* time now, even though I disliked it. But then I found this video, and *goodness* did it help! I can draw an actual face now! Not only was the video helpful, but it was actually fun to watch. I didn't feel pressured to make a gorgeous peice of art, or to do a bunch of math to figure out the anatomy of the face. It was just an enjoyable trip to help you improve. And that's exactly what I did. And even when the videos are full of nonsense jokes and memes, you also really seem to genuinely care about your viewers, and their improvement in art. I've been watching your videos since I discovered this one, and I'm still improving. I don't know if you'll actually ever see this comment, but thank you *so* much! I really appreciate your videos, and I've definitely improved since I've seen this first one. Hope you're doing well, and thanks again!

    This was REALLY useful despite the fact that I’ve watched many tutorials on drawing faces. My question is, when I draw portraits, invariably each person has his/her proportions, which vary from the general proportions, eg, the distance between the eyes. So how and when do I begin altering these classic proportions? For each feature or as I mark in the points of reference? Thanks !

    To the point and informative 👌 for sure. I have literally been trying to perfect the How far Between my eyes and tip of the nose for a long time (about 6 months). At which time I decided drawing was going to be my next homeschool art lesson. I homeschool a 10 and 16 year old and they were both able to draw a face better than they ever have since we started Art class. Thank you so much for this!

    • @XabioArts
      @XabioArts  4 года назад +6

      Yes, but not in a literal way like when it's straight on like this. You still have to imagine where the mouth and eyes line up as they wrap around the face. Kinda imagine where it would be if the face was straight on. Idk if that makes any sense
