- In this video I talk far too much about rain as I visit the Iron Age hill fort/settlement of Maiden Castle, situated at Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales.

Hi. Just watched vid.
Very nice.
Enjoyed it.
I love being outdoors too.
Nice quiet hike and pretty much all yours. Nice.
Looking forward to more.
I will watch your hikes.
Liked and subbed.👍
Thanks 👍and welcome!
Fascinating, you have captured the atmosphere of the place perfectly despite the dreaded mike/wind noise,(we all suffer it). Your knowledge shared most charmingly. Great video, great editing and easy viewing 😍
Thanks David, glad you liked it :D
Great walk Carrie. Like you, I often struggle with my motivation levels on grey and gloomy days. Still, the oystercatchers and cool suspension bridge were proper rays of sunshine 🌞.
Hi Chris, it was a lovely walk. Looks like the weather might be improving, finally! I might even get out camping if we get some nice weather! :D
When I worked at a local college I was in their walking group and Reeth was always a favourite walk. Not been for about almost 20 years so I need a return visit/hike, especially as it is less than an hour away from home. Good on you for getting out, not the best weather for a fair weather walker like me and I do not remember a cairn on Maiden Castle, or that suspension bridge either but it was so long since I was there - I do remember The Black Bull mind :o). Nice walk out, cheers Alan
Hi Alan, Reeth is a lovely spot for a walk- and to go for a pint afterwards! Yeah you should come over for a walk! Atb
Enjoyed this one 😊
Thanks😁
That is another lovely area you picked for your trek that time. That old footbridge over the river looks good too. I'd do the walk just for that! So good, cheers, Warren :)
Thanks for watching Warren, it's much appreciated!
Hi Carrie, lovely poodle around, like to walk alone change route walk as slow or fast as i want, loved the music parts showing the oystercatchers etc, well put together video all the best nigel
Hi Nigel, yeah that's the great thing about walking solo- you can do whatever you like! Glad you enjoyed the video :D
@@carriehikes did enjoy the vid and the swing bridge
Excellent vlog, Very nice Dear
Thanks for visiting
Nice job Carrie. Swaledale and Arkengarthdale Archaeology group/Durham university did a geophysical report 18 pages😳 Atb
Thanks, I might look that up- it's superb up there at Maiden Castle.
I was out today Carrie in windy wet shit weather and felt great almost instantly. It's getting up and out that's the thing. Lovely out there - you settled right in and had a good old walk in the end. Good going. Mark
Agreed, once you get out there you feel amazing. We've got plenty more crappy weather coming so might as well make the most of it! :D
@@carriehikes For sure stepping through the Green door is a real reality shift. Here's to crap weather and the boost we get in it. Ha ha!
