Removal is not very difficult. We do have a removal/replacement video here ruclips.net/video/1YY3GZG8GNg/видео.html that shows you how to remove and old system and install a new one.
Hi Tyler I live in South West Fla where it is VERY warm 8 out of 12 months Must I use a vacuum breaker on the roof? I always felt with the winds we get here it might be better to have the panels full of water all the time. YOUR THOUGHTS??? Thanks Rob
Hi Rob, a vacuum relief valve must be installed to depressurize the panels and piping. If it isn't installed the pressure of the vacuum can deform the panels and/or piping causing damage. Wind is no problem we can design systems that withstand hurricane force winds. Give us a call we would be happy to help with your DIY project.
I would like to purchase some panels from you, but would like them installed by a professional. Can you recommend any installers? I live in SE Wisconsin.
Yes, but you will need to build a roof rack to lift the panels above the seams. S-5! makes brackets for standing seam roofs that will allow you properly secure the roof rack to the roof. We have pictures of these types of installations and can help with anything you need. Please give us a call at (619)312-4822 or email us at contact@solarpoolsupply.com
In Virginia it will be too cold for a solar pool heating system to be efficient in the winter months, but it will make your normal swim season more comfortable and also extend your swim season weather permitting.
Our pipe support brackets found here www.solarpoolsupply.com/collections/parts-hardware/products/pvc-pipe-support-bracket?_pos=1&_sid=872079d25&_ss=r&variant=41041451483312 actually lift the pipe up off the roof so you can fit cardboard or cloth underneath. Another benefit is it allows water and debris to drain off the roof properly.
How many panels do you need for a smal 12,000 gallon pool..i have a shed type roof that faces the south in sunny NC..this would be great..also if i take a heat my heat temp gun and point it at roof is that a good guess at what temp water will be?
For a 12k gallon pool I would recommend around 200 sq ft of solar panels. The number of panels depends on the size of panel you can fit. For example, if you could fit a 4'x12' (48 sq ft ea) size panel it would be (4) 4'x12' that would total 192 sq ft. Give us a call at (619) 312-4822 or contact@solarpoolsupply.com and we can get some more information and help you choose the system that's best for you.
The SwimJoy top and bottom mounting pads will fit both concrete and clay barrel tile roofs. You just need the proper anchors for the material. For barrel tile roof installation see the SwimLux Installation video here ruclips.net/video/9dlU6DdrRKA/видео.html
The drain loop assembly connects the solar feed and return lines together with a small hose so that when the pump is off the panels and feed pipe automatically drain back down through the return pipe. All you need is a drill and bit to install these. The pipes must be right next to each other as well the hose is only 10" long
For automated solar control systems there are both water and solar sensors. The water sensor will be located on the pool equipment before the solar bypass to gauge existing pool water temp and is a probe sensor that mounts to the PVC pipe. The solar sensor should be located near the solar panels in a spot that gets the same sun exposure as the panels and these can be either the probe or block style sensors.
Yes, they are secured to the roof at the top and bottom of the panel, which is demonstrated starting at the 4:06 time mark. The top mounting pad is a solid mount, and the bottom mounting pad is a sliding mount that allows the panel to expand and contract.
Hello can you help we have installed same panel for our pool unfortunately its not heating at all...all installation done as per your video...what can cause this please?
It may be an undersized system or it may not be running for enough time each day. It could be several things. Please call us we can help troubleshoot over the phone you can reach us at (844) 407-1998.
It depends on your location, orientation of the panels, and the results you want to achieve, but a general range for total system size would be 200-300 sq ft of solar panels. If you have space for the longer 4'x12' panels that would (4-6) of that size.
@@solarpoolsupply9793 Thanks, sorry I should have been a bit more specific. Yes the 4X12 would fit and I am in central FL. The roof is a southern exposure so it gets sun all day.
@@mattpechulonis6184 for central florida, south facing, and assuming a screen enclosure I would recommend 250-300 sq ft of solar so (5-6) of the 4x12 sized panels.
Yes, they can be installed on a flat roof. The main concern would be draining water from the panels. Any time the weather reaches the low 40's there can be no water in the panels. A minimum pitch of 1/8" per foot of panel is required for drainage.
It depends on the installation. For a manual control it's good practice, but not mandatory. Only application it would be mandatory would be a fully automated solar control setup.
In theory it could, but there is no data to support that. It would also depend on how much of the roof is covered. The panels are cooler to the touch when water is flowing through them so it could help.
We only sell DIY products, so I can't provide an installed quote. It does fluctuate quite a bit across the country depending on the installation. There are a lot of variables that go into total costs.
Awesome job putting all of those leaks on the roof😂, guaranteed way to get that insurance claim denied. Talk to a roofer before installing system that penetrate through your roof system and that leaves fasteners exposed. Clean looking work but you ruined work that was doing more than keeping water warm
Tyler has done hundreds of professional installations and never had a roof leak. You just need to use a generous amount of high quality sealant (we recommend Lexel 13010) when securing to the roof. Our DIY customers do incredible work as well often times just as good if not better than the professionals. Whether its water heating or electric solar there are millions of roofs with penetrations out there you just need to use the proper components and quality workmanship. We are here to walk you through any installation steps and give you the confidence to perform a professional installation. If you have a roof warranty you should absolutely check before doing a project like this.
This is the most robust industrial dependable solar pool heating panel in the market. Hands down.
Yes it is! Happy to hear you liked the product.
Nice work , solid system
Thanks!
Thanks for illustrating this job
Your're welcome! We glad you found the video helpful. Please let us know if we can answer any questions or help with anything.
Item was as described. It arrived on time. It was easy to install.
We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your business! Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need anything.
Cool video very informative. How hard is it to take them off?
Removal is not very difficult. We do have a removal/replacement video here ruclips.net/video/1YY3GZG8GNg/видео.html that shows you how to remove and old system and install a new one.
Now do a video on how to winterize the system.
Yes, this is a video we plan to do in the future. We appreciate the recommendation!
Love the safety rope 😂

I’m going to lay it 3 way and two way isolation valves including pipes horizontally
Is that going to be okay right
Since mine is going on rack ??
yes, the valves can be installed in any orientation

How did you manage to paint the plumbing without getting paint on the roof shingles?

are there mounts that work on a curved tile roof (like clay tile hills and valleys tiles)?

What is the "drain loop"? What equipment do I need and how do I install it?

All you need is a drill and bit to install these. The pipes must be right next to each other as well the hose is only 10" long
I didn’t see primer applied to the fittings, isn’t that required for a pressurized system?
We do recommend the use of primer on all PVC connections. It's not mandatory, but will give you the strongest connection.
Where do you put the sensors at?
For automated solar control systems there are both water and solar sensors. Good question
You do not secure the mats to the roof?? What if it storms?
Yes, they are secured to the roof at the top and bottom of the panel, which is demonstrated starting at the 4:06 time mark. The top mounting pad is a solid mount, and the bottom mounting pad is a sliding mount that allows the panel to expand and contract.
