I always wondered how headers got that dang needle through the hat 😂😂 I go under the material of the hat, and do just one row of 5-7 sz 13’s, on top of the bill. Hides the thread better and doesn’t weigh the hat down so much with extra beads.
I can bead on a pure white hat with black thread and nobody would notice. I’m not sure that there is thread to hide unless the thread is not pulled tight. Beads are also so light in weight that you don’t notice the weight. I have beaded full brims and cannot tell the weight difference.
@@patrishaaregano6203 I remember back in 2016-17 people were fully beading hat bills.. I appreciate your work! 🤙🏽🙏🏽👊🏽 sending much love from a fellow beader to another💙👊🏽
Just WOW! 😮 This will be a beauty when it's complete, for sure! I love your style of beadwork-and the Camo! These colors look great together! You have amazing beadwork, talent, and skills! Thanks for sharing this with everyone! ❤ P.S- How long does it take you to complete this hat? It looks very tedious and time consuming, yet a whole lot of fun! Lol 😂
If I work really hard I can get it done in 10 hours but that rarely happens. I usually only like to bead in winter months, and I stop often to admire my work. Lol.
@@cedarspirit sometimes I use a beading app to figure out how the design would show on top of the hat. For example, I know that I have about 19 beads on the string and only 9 of the first bead strung on will actually show the design… to make it easier for me the last 10 beads are usually a plain color because they don’t show.
@@lindseygillespie617 I don’t … seems like a good idea though. Usually I use the seams made by the factory to hide my knots and start my beading. I hope that makes a little sense.
What type of beading needle are you using? I never have luck with them, they break and bend and not strong enough to go through the hat. I love your beadwork 💚
It is the John James Needles 🪡 use your pliers to enter but hold pliers towards the tip of the needle. I use to break about 2 needles per hat 🧢 but now I can use one needle for about 3 hats 🧢 practice makes perfect. Watch my other video part II. 🤍 good luck and happy beading
Another way to not break your needle is to pre-punch your holes. I use a T pin(upholstery pin), some use an awl... I always try to have a little piece of leather to save my fingers. Have fun 😊
I usually start from the sides. If the pattern requires a middle I count the industrial holes and see where the middle is or I mark the hat with fabric chalk after measurement but before beading.
This adds so much to the hat...just beautiful 💚
I just love watching ladies bead...their hands move so elegantly and calmly. ❤
Your work on both is beautiful
Hashtag Fucking Gorgeous!
Genius. Just picked up glass beads today and I really like that idea
That's really nice you should post a full length tutorial. Expert skills
Beautiful work😍I'm going to try this, thank you for sharing! 🤗
THAT IS BEAUTIFUL
That looks amazing!!!
This is incredible!
So beautiful❤❤❤😍😍😍
So gorgeous!
So pretty!!!!
Beautiful work🐎thank you for sharing 🌹
This is a cool method. I’ve never seen anyone do that with their thread over the needle. Does it just help it be more even?
Yes it makes all beads lay straight

Beautiful!
This is amazing! What kind of thread do you use?
Wild Fire thread 006 or 008 size. Any color. It is strong. I usually moisturize the thread with beeswax or sometimes I use organic lip balm 🤣
So beautiful! Do you draw the pattern on paper before you start?

Amazing work! How many beads do you put on each strand you sew? I am so inspired to try beading a hat this weekend! Thanks for the inspiration!
Usually 19 beads but different bands require a different #. I think Nike hats are 19 if I remember correctly.
Amazing
Thank you.
Do you have a video on how to start and stop the thread?
@@lindseygillespie617 I don’t … seems like a good idea though. Usually I use the seams made by the factory to hide my knots and start my beading. I hope that makes a little sense.
I've wanted to do this for a while. do you use the existing hole from the original stitching on the hat?
Yes! In between the industrial holes made by the company you will need to puncture a hole See next video.
What size beads?
11 delicas. I noticed that round beads do not lay flat so delicas are ideal.

How did you figure your center for your pattern? I usually start from the middle & work my way out....
I usually start from the sides. If the pattern requires a middle I count the industrial holes and see where the middle is or I mark the hat with fabric chalk after measurement but before beading.
Where can I get patterns for these designs?
Just make them up as you go along.
How did you make your needle go through it so easily? I couldn't really see how you did that:O
Watch the second video, plz.
@@patrishaaregano6203 ohh ok thanks I will
I’m a Pomo Native and that looks like our tribal patterns. Are you Pomo?
No, I am Oneida of New York. Our designs are flowery but my son wanted an more geometrical design.
Okay so I just need a thicker needle, and then just giver 😭 I kept stabbing myself cuz, and every needle is too thin!
Is that a lazy stitch or a payote stitch?
Neither. It is just a simple stitch.
Back round noise is bad on video
It’s my dog. Sorry. He is drinking out of his bowl.
