I have just started using this technique of beading 3 days ago, I use 2 needles regularly, I’m almost done one fully beaded legging for pow wow, it’s taken me 3 days and I’m almost done, thank you for posting this video
This is brilliant! It can't possibly be as simple as you make it seem. This is proof you're an artist! I also watched the Museum spot on you and wanted to say how much I admire the way you straddle what is traditional with what is contemporary. For traditional artists there is always (I think) a kind of tension between the two, and how an artist resolves or even exploits that tension can result in some absolutely spectacular work. You are an excellent example of that.
I am so happy to find another artist that sews beads like I do. Its very hard to use this technique. Many people glue them on. I have finally finished one of my painting 10 by 10, took many hours of work.
@Giuseppinagreco. I am from India. And and in India, we wear clothing that as glitter, sequins, stones work, mirror work, bead work, thread work, lace, etc... For special occasions like weddings, wedding anniversary parties etc... Very few designers will actually take the time to sew these things on to the garments like this. most of these things are just glued on to the garments. And after a few times wearing the garments, those things will fall off and you would need to buy again to wear for another fancy party.
Thank you. I appreciate you n enjoy the shhhhh of the video (deal with it, ppl). It made me really have 2 focus hard and be the bead. You make ur ancestors proud. Miigwech 4 ur time n talent, blessings!!
Your work is amazingly made and I am happy that you shared a piece with us all to see, I bead & I am ecstatic to see this technique. Some people do not show their techniques. KEEP on beading :)
Loved watching you. Im just now trying some bead embroidery on foundation using 11/0. It’s frustrating, lol. I can see where using 13/0 gives a much cleaner finish. Beautiful work Jamie 🦋
@@elephant0e The bigger the number the smaller the bead. 8/0, 11/0 and 15/0 are the most widely used I would say. Bead Artists will use smaller beads for more detailed work. Enjoy your beading adventure 😊
Bert here got too say you do very nice work my granny ray belle tine made my dad Avest 60 years ago and wood like too give it to peter Bellentine nation in Prince Albert
You make it look so easy! Even getting the beads on the needle. Such a beautiful piece of artwork, you are truly talented! I hope to learn a lot from your videos and maybe one day I can show off some work and gladly point others who want to learn here. I'm assuming that you sell some of your work, which I would like to do one day if/when I ever get good enough. How do you gauge what a piece is worth?
Are you only using one needle, or is this two needle and I just can't see the second needle? If one needle, how do you not get the thread knotted up when you lock in your rows? I'm impressed!
Are you using a Glover? Is the hide thingy soft? How many beads between tacking (or whatever the term is lol I'm still new) it down? When I do this I end up messy n not so fluid in movement. You make it look so smooth n easy. And your work is beautiful😍😍😍😍
I keep trying to understand how, after gathering a whole line of, maybe 20 beads, you then go UNDER the canvas , but end up ON TOP with the same needle and thread to the end of that string of beads? Or are there 2 separate needles? Is 1 needle waiting underneath for when the other needles brings the line if new beads?
Are you using both regular seed beads and charlottes? Also do use nymo? In one of your videos it looked like the thread was the same color as the seed bead.
Best way if you need strength or if the beading is on a garment or accessory that will take a lot of use is to put 2 on at once , backstitch back into the third, pull through all three, put two on, backstitch into 3rd , pull through all three- That way if threads ever break, they won’t unravel One of the most important things to do though, that sedates amateur from professional is waxing your thread with beeswax , and a clean and tidy backside
Only pull down enough to make it disappear between beads, keep the actual beading string taught but loose enough you can still feel slight movement in the beads. Like you can gently turn them
I can’t quite tell from the video but I know at most craft stores you can compare the diameter on packets of beads with that of the needles you use to find something that will fit through. Try to get something smaller than the bead holes so you don’t risk breaking beads or getting them stuck! If you don’t know either you might try eyeballing it or testing by lightly pulling your needle through one of your beads. if light coaxing doesn’t push your needle through, its not small enough or you may need thinner thread

It actually is simple, but it takes practice...and patience during the practice part.

I’m new to beading, what does 11/0 and 13/0 mean?

Its a lazy stitch with a modified crow stitchh seems, easy to do, just need to put the needle in the right area
It would be great if you could explain what your doing.

Beautiful bead work Jamie, some instruction would go better with it in the speaking form? Thank you for sharing!
Are you using two needles and thread and what kind of material is that your beading on too and can I use it on a crown
Is that two needles you working with 🙏⚜

no glovers needles used here. size 13&15 needles. and it depends with amount of beads used. its always different
Will you show from beginning

I'm pretty sure it's two needles, it's called the 2 needle method

Can I ask you about how long you do it ?

Gorgeous, Jamie❤
Thank you
What kinda beads are u using?
When using the second thread to tack down, how much tension do put on it. Hen I do this it come out lumpy.
Only pull down enough to make it disappear between beads, keep the actual beading string taught but loose enough you can still feel slight movement in the beads. Like you can gently turn them
Now I see why they call the lazy stitch, lazy. Uff-Daa
So Perfect, it"s crazy
Hi pretty lady. How are you doing today
Did you bead this whole thing one bead at a time?
you’ll see later in the video she threads many beads in a curve at once, then uses a second needle and thread to secure them.
Where did you get the pink beads ? I can't find any online , always sold out.
guuuurl...... these are old stock. I bought out this dye lot probably over 10 yrs ago.
I just bought 2 kilos in this pink in 12/0 @Roni The Babe...
From where can.i find these designs
Is the plastic ring on the outside of your work some sort of beading hoop?
no, its the leather border
Is the plastic to protect the leather?
Omg these pink beads
❤️ it

im confused. is there purposely no sound?
She’s so iconic she doesn’t need to use sound. We still watch it without blinking. Incredible.
This is my life..😜
so awesome
Doing this by using a Tambour hook is a whole lot quicker!!
you cant use a tambour needle on leather
Actually you can use a Tambour hook on leather!!
Are these done with regular beads? or micro beads
mostly 13/0 and some 12/0.
regular 13/0
13/0
Could not hear the video.
there was no sound to hear.
Hlo mam I am beaded working
no sound on your video???
beautiful
No video?
What are you making here?
a backpack
Nice! There is nothing like carrying or wearing something hand made.
I want to lean this
Beautiful beadwork but do not like a silent tutorial. It would be nice if she would speak explaining in her tutorials.
This isn't a tutorial, just a glimpse into how she works.
I agree. I don’t like the silent “tutorials” or the foreign language “tutorials” that could have English closed caption but don’t, grrrr.
@@Amaia_Devon Ok, just wish she would explain a little as she works. 😟. The bead work is lovely though.
I thought there was something wrong with my phone. I’m sure it is someone not accustomed to posting.
