Good video, but easier to do this with a pressure bleeder.

Thanks for the very good detailed video. I have a suggestion. Mark the initial fluid level on the resovoir with a dry erase marker. The lfuid drops normally as pads wear. If ypu top it off completly after a flush, the next time you change your pads you will overflow the resovoir and as you said this fluid is very corrosive. Just fill till your marker !ine and then rub off the line with your finger.

Your assistant should not be pumping with the bleeder open. He should be applying pressure to the brake pedal then you open the bleeder. When his foot hits the floor you tighten the bleeder back up. Then he can release the pedal and pump a few times to get fluid back into to Mayer cylinder. Then repeat the process.

Hi thanks for your comment. In order to force any air bubbles out of the brake line(s), you need to slowly pump. When no more bubbles are present I indicated to my assistant to hold the brake pedal as close to the floor as possible, and hold. Then the bleeder screw is closed.

CORRECT. when you release the peddle without closing the valve you run the risk of air going into the caliper. this is why you close nipple after every press of the peddle, or use a bleed system that pressurizes the reservoir and does a complete flush with the need of a second person. to change every 2 years is a waste of money, just purchase a tester to see if any water in the fluid.

Don't recall the exact amount but I only had one quart (1 Liter) of fluid for the job.
