Yeah there is a lot more good said than bad by the people that work with him. There has been rumblings of how the elite have been assholes to many people since the beginning.
These two guys don’t get the f*****g credit they deserve they are one of the greatest tag team of all time they respect this business inside and out like true old school pro wrestlers, and I mean they got a point cm punk is only trying to be a veteran and help the young talent in the back man and hangman just said f**k you I don’t need you, could you imagine if he tried that shit with undertaker? He would be back on the indies long after he’s been forgotten after sitting out the rest of his contact…. That’s just disrespectful on so many levels, I also get hang man’s point punk took his spot a wwe guy took his spot
I absolutely love these two great rasslers as well. My nephew and I met them for autographs & pics at a small local event a few months ago, that they definitely did not have to work ;) They were two of the nicest and most down to earth gentlemen in the industry that I've ever met. I met the Undertaker many moons ago and he was kind of annoyed at the moment at fans that day for one reason or another. Also met Bret Hart, and pardon the pun, but he was an absolute sweetheart, that said, let's stick to the facts. As much as I love FTR their view on Punk/The Elite/AEW situation will factually be a biased one. They are nice guys but have a different view of Punk, not the right or wrong view, but their own view of him and nonetheless, a biased view. While others in the locker room have their own opinions of Punk as well. Also, all this talk of Punk being respectful to his wrestling elders is from another planet and definitely not the reality within our own planet. He has been going against the grain of the industry since forever. He's told plenty of elders in the business to F@#! Off with their advise, so not only are FTR bias friends of his but your comment reveals that you yourself are a bias fan, I am to, but not when it comes to reality. I'd like to add that you don't tell people how to be a professional wrestler, you show them how, and Punk's media scrum was definitely not showing the world how to be professional. His accusations of leaked stories by Kenny and the Bucks are not fact and the more facts coming out, the more it looks like it wasn't them who leaked any story of Punk and his weird, creepy relationship w/Colt Cabana, so it looks more like what it was, an egotistical rant. The objective facts are as follows: Punk has created himself a second career in the industry, and that is projecting his own shortcomings as a social human being onto this generation of wrestlers and the AEW locker room specifically. He has been in business for himself since the very beginning of his career and has tricked his naive fans like a wolf in sheep's clothing into thinking he was against McMahon's Tycoon vs Uninsured Factory Worker take on the wrestling industry. But, he never was a true anarchist, because he always came first. His Take My Ball And Go Home If They Don't Wan't To Play By My Rules attitude is the immature childish action he has taken throughout his entire career. Punk is a "Revolutionary" in his own mind and in the mind of naive marks. You can't be a "Revolutionary" if you didn't truly revolt. Him leaving the industry was not "revolting" and he hurt himself and the fans far more than the industry itself by leaving in his prime, and anyone who thinks waisting your gifts in the name of someone else's bag, defines revolting, deserves what they get coming to them for being so small mided. The facts are, running from Goliath for 7 years and popping back in when the dust settles after others like Kenny and the Bucks bled on the battlefield of the revolution he claims to have started does not suddenly make him mature and professional nor some kind of hero to the industry. Only he and naive marks believe that nonsense. He believes in his own hype and he always will. He is a narcissist. He doesn't wear Abortion Rights shirts and other protest shirts because he truly has a stake in the fight. He does it to get the recognition, to be noticed and talked about, thats it. Even if you were to see Punk at some protest rally, it would be for him, and not the Cause. If he was an intellegent Revolutionary he would've been able to keep his cool during that media scrum, but he didn't. He didn't because he is insecure and not the strong minded punk rocker he pretends to be. The Anarchist Wrestler is a played to death and back again gimmick. The AEW locker room has never had heavy heavy issues like they have had for the past year. The common denominator is Punk. He came in a year ago and now here we are. He is a poison to the locker room and his egotistical media scrum rant disguised as martyr's last speech, revealed how immature and unprofessional he really is. Not saying all involved with locker room brawl aren't to blame, but if Punk wasn't a part of the company, would we even be talking about this lame and shameful moment for the company and the industry as a whole. Look, no matter what you, me, or anyone online or anywhere else for that matter thinks about this situation, the fact of the matter is, that the common denominator here, is CM Punk.
Imagine if there was a way to just insert these guys into 70s and 80s southern territory wrestling. They're as good as heels as they are as faces, the stories they coulda told with the Rock'n'Roll, the Midnights, the Fantastics, Tully and Arn or the Road Warriors. Fuck, even send them up north to work with the Hart Foundation and the Bulldogs. Instead they gotta put up with the well documemted bullshit they've had to put up with in both companies. Omega and the Bucks brought their “friend circle” to national television and gave them more of an opportunity to shine then they ever had. Guys like 2.0, Fire Ant, Chuckie T, Colt, and more. A huge number of guys from the various indie rosters (PWG, Chikara, ROH). I don’t know why this thing has to be zero sum: punk helped others and the Elite did nothing. FTR represents everything good about the wrestling industry they have their egos in check and show nothing but respect to the guys that paved the way and only care about going out there and putting on a great match to the best of their abilities,
If they are better and more popular than you, it's reason enough apparently. Just ask the children (Young Bucks) if they're honest... Which is already a stretch.

I've been a WWF guy my entire life. However, lately I've been intrigued by AEW and have found out some information regarding the cliques involved in the promotion. It seems as though Punk and these guys are friends, while the young bucks and Kenny Omega are in their own little group. Kenny Omega and the Young bucks seem immature and their matches have zero psychology. CM Punk and FTR seem pretty reasonable with ALL of their critiques and wrestle in a logical, old school kind of way. Also, Cody Rhodes didn't like the Bucks/Omega clique either. I think I'm starting to see the common denominator.

He has more psychology and storytelling than any of your favorites. Stop being a hater and supporting someone that literally assaulted his boss for NOTHING.
Punk is the common denominator - an asshole who had issues in IWA, ROH, WWE and AEW. The Bucks were liked and respected in PWG and ROH, while Omega was loved so much in NJPW that when he left they lost their shit and refused to do business with Tony Khan. Punk went on a childish, unprofessional rant because his feelings were hurt by one line in an Adam Page promo that 99% of people had no idea what it referred to, yet was fine with lines from Eddie Kingston and MJF that were far worse and far more direct. He was disrespectful to the company and disparaging to the people who, like him, were dissatisfied with the state of professional wrestling but who, unlike him, helped create a massive second company that created hundreds of jobs and gave the talent somewhere else to work and leverage in contract negotiations with WWE. If you can’t see who the dickhead is here, you are beyond help. And I say this as a massive Punk fan who is generally fed up with the goofy style the Bucks and Omega mostly produce - the difference being I am not a child unable to set my personal fandom aside and analyse the situation for what it is based on context and history.
I've hated WWE/F my entire life and agree with the rest of the comment. Stepping back and looking at this objectively I see some guys with top shelf egos and 2nd or 3rd shelf skills put in a position of importance they don't deserve. Then here come guys with top shelf skills and they're scared they going to loose their spot. Listening to all the takes I have is starting to make it all pretty clear.
The most hated people are few in number, yet they're the realest most genuine people you'd ever hope to meet, while the fakest people has most people rooting for them bragging on them. The fact of the matter is people love to hate that of which they wish they were or could be instead just chalking their ego's for something greater. It's really sad out here. When too many people tell me that a man/woman is a monster, my response is always "So when do I get to meet this monster, I've so many questions and even more ways to ask them". My mind immediately goes back to Frankenstein. People play God with genuine people's reputations by defaming them, gas all of the weak minds up around them, then the village idiots all scream "MONSTER" and proceed to chase that perceived monster with pitchforks(rumors, accusations based on other people's popular opinions, lies, etc). Tony Khan employed those clowns as EVP's. Now it's his turn to sleep in the bed he made. Such an amateur level mistake employing a bunch of internet wrestlers who have never been over and only appeal to a weird niche audience they have cultivated.
CM Punk may want what's best for the company, but at the same time he showed zero respect for Tony Khan. No Way in hell would a top guy in WWE air his dirty laundry in front of the media while sitting right beside Vince. Granted (from the outside looking in) it appears like Tony doesn't demand respect, he appears to want to be more friend than boss, though I could be wrong.
This implies that he hasn't tried to deal with the issues back stage. He has the old school mentality so I would assume that he did. There's been talk that Punk rehearsed what he was going to say, so it's pretty safe to say that Tony knew ahead of time what was about to happen and agrees with him. Tony wanting to me more friend than boss seems to be the universal view of him and I agree as well. It's good to be close to your employees, but you have to have boundaries and be the boss sometimes.
Look at the AEW locker room like a class room. And look at Tony Khan like that teacher in the first year of his career. Most students will try to walk all over him unless he kicks a few of them out for bad behavior and sets some ground rules with real repercussions. So I agree with you there: Tony looks more like a friend than a boss atm. Punk, The Bucks, Omega, Adam Page; they are the special needs kids. The ones that have a sort of special 'manual' with regards to their behavior. They can thrive and truly excell; be your best students. But if they feel like you can't run your classroom? They'll play class room manager themselves. And, so, due to their behavior, they will only show Tony respect if Tony shows real authority first. Because right now Punk is the student who transferred from a different school and gets high marks on tests. Adam Page is the kid who used to have the highest marks (and thinks he doesn't need advice on how to study). And Omega and The Bucks are the clique running for class presidents. They're all trying to make their 'importance' felt. And only their teacher can call them out on that and put them in their place. Knock their egos down a peg.
@@DP-um1ck Adam Page is widely regarded by anyone who worked with him as one of the nicest guys in the locker room. Omega is viewed in a similar way. It is clear that the tension between these 2 groups have built up in time, and instead of fixing it, he let it derail. The whole thing should have ended when Page made those remarks. Get them in a room, and work it out. Almost nobody understood from the audience what that was about, so there was no damage done. Next up, if Punk was still pissed when he returned, talk it out again. You don't let him go on a live mike not knowing what the hell he as done. After the segment with Punk, suspend him or take him off the PPV. I agree with what they are saying but you also have your lower card guys who are going to worry about losing their spot on the roster because of the TV time and money that they might otherwise get. I think many view AEW has a place for up and coming Stars to go and build a bigger presence.
The Hardly boys dropped the tag titles to swerve in our glory for no reason other than they didn't want to have a 3rd match with FTR and do the right thing for the business that they are EVPs of. Now look what happened.

It doesn't matter if the "dirtsheets" would've been able to dissect that it was about Cabana or not (and they did, and they spread it around like wildfire that Punk was responsible for Cabana being out of AEW), Punk still would've known and that comment had absolutely nothing to do with the story that was being told. I think the biggest thing being lost in all of this is that you can be passionate, in it for the right reasons, but still be an asshole. I am wondering why we are not putting the onus on both parties.
I do have to wonder how this discussion would have gone now, post-media scrum, post-brawl. How would FTR respond and what would they say? I mean, at the beginning dude says, "Yeah there's old grudges and animosity, but Punk isn't going to comment on it." But...then Punk did...in the most explosive way possible. And called lots of the young talent pr**ks. lol I'm a Punk fan, don't get me wrong. I'm just curious if FTR 100% still would respond the same way NOW.

These 2 are a class act. I can tell they really care about this business. I’m glad that they’re saying nice things about punk. Besides I see nothing but negativity from meltzer marks
Mainly from the lawsuit situation with Punk, Colt and WWE. The EVPs and Hangman all are close with Cobana, but there was more behind everything with that situation that is no ones business. Hangman decided to make it personal leading up to their match and when Punk was out they gave negative press about Punk to these Wrestling "journalist". Who spread misinformation like wild fire to make Punk look like the bad guy in everything. If you watch last night post PPV interviews Punk goes off on the Journalist there who are some that spread the misinformation and spoke his mind about the situation.
@@sligen LITERALLY! Hangman hashed up old beef....that had nothing to do with him. somehow Punk & Colts beef became everyone elses problem. its a shit show.
@@sligen Literally no one has brought up Hangman's promo in months. Heck, many didn't even know what that part meant. In fact, it worked in cohesion into Punk and Hangman's Feud quite fine. Punk then is in a completely different program and decides to bring Hangman up outta no where, creating nothing but confusion and taking the focus away from Moxley and him. Then you have that crapshow caused by Punk Sunday into Monday night. Mind you this is taking away from MJF and his feud by his own actions. Punk is a petulant child.
@@Splattermelt Because those involved do know why that Promo happen. It wasn't part of the script. Look at Tony's reaction and Punks expression during it. Punk knows they are friends with Cobana and it's why they don't like Punk. Punk even says in the same promo "Don't know why your taking this personally" as a wtf you doing. Then after Punks injury all this negative press just so happens to start being spread about backstage problems with Punk. From sources inside AEW? Yeah they trying to kill the momentum of Punk in AEW or get him off the show. Backstage politics, they can't convince TK to let him go. So they try to get Punk to leave instead but Punk has dealt with bigger and worse.
I have to side with FTR... I have no reason to believe they would lie. They have proven themselves to be consumate professionals. Punk has a short temper, holds grudges and doesn't suffer fools.. but look at how loyal he is to his trainer Ace Steel and how loyal he was to colt cabana for so many years. TK should have made sure punk was totally insulated from all possible bullshit when he hired him.
Adam Page should've had immediate ramifications for what he said once he walked back through the curtain, but TK didn't do that. Punk said he gave an opportunity for it to get handled and it didn't get handled, that's why he called Page out when he returned.
@@SupraViperhead I think he was able to get away with it by saying "it was just a promo" ... I didn't really realize what he was saying was so dangerous at the time. Tk has to learn that you have to Absolutely protect your top drawing talent... regardless of whether you think they are a primadonna or not... your top attraction, top merch seller, top promo and most recognized talent IS going to get some special treatment. Not reviewing a promo against him or not immediately squashing the drama was a bad idea.
Ding, ding, ding! Whatever the full story of what led up to the chair throw in the locker room, we may never really know. Tony has some grown-up decisions to make. He can either continue to let the inmates run the asylum with his EVPs or he can get some actual leadership and direction in place. Since all of his EVPs are now currently suspended, I'm guessing their influence going forward will be greatly diminished. Maybe Tony is wising up?
If CM Punk were all about what's best for the company, he would know better than go on a tirade at a scrum. That makes AEW look super shitty to fans, TV execs, and anyone looking to come in because they have to deal with EVPs that Punk ran down for 20 minutes. It doesn't matter what he did in ROH, WWE, or even last week talking to Will Hobbs, it matters how he acted at the scrum in front of cameras and millions of viewers.
FTR are so professional and gentlemen to comment and support CM Punk. This is prior to the scrum. These guys are the real deal for being Professional Wrestlers inside and outside of the ring

He would be back on the indies long after he’s been forgotten after sitting out the rest of his contact…. That’s just disrespectful on so many levels, I also get hang man’s point punk took his spot a wwe guy took his spot
I absolutely love these two great rasslers as well. My nephew and I met them for autographs & pics at a small local event a few months ago, that they definitely did not have to work ;)
They were two of the nicest and most down to earth gentlemen in the industry that I've ever met.

You don't know what the hell you are talking about. Period. Kenny Omega is one of the best wrestlers EVER.

I am sure that many of us at their workplace have seen some manager or senior emplyoee that really wants the company to thrive and to get the younger workers to improve, but they do it with a patronizing attitude that makes others feel insulted instead.
I have the feeling that something similar might be what happend with Punk in the AEW locker room.
FTR and Briscoes top teams in all of pro wrestling.
2 of the best for sure

The problem is that he made it outright public right in front of the owner of the company. Tony did try to calm the situation but Punk continued to talk about his frustrations which is fine but clearly Tony didn't wish it to overlap the event but sadly it did.
I would to, hangman went to far on that workers right promo on national tv, hangman started it punk finished it, I wouldn’t have biting my lip neither

I think it's pretty obvious that the bucks and Kenny and no doubt others didn't like the fact that the company they helped build now has the power to attract bigger stars which highlights the level that they are at leading to inevitable backstage issues, punk despite years out of the business has taken aew to a new level in terms of generating ratings and revenue,my only negative is why couldn't he have been the better man and just kept quiet but if shots are being fired then it takes a lot of restraint to let it slide and we are all human after all,so I ain't gonna be too mad at him! Kenny and the bucks have blown themselves up to epic ego territory where they really do believe their own hype and suddenly are faced with the realization that as good as they are there are levels to the game! And they had no answer but to cause issues backstage.
These guys get the business and the art of professional wrestling. Been a big fan of them since I first saw them in NXT.
It’s not that it’s the juicier headline, it’s that certain people who shall Omega remain nameless The Bucks can’t stand not being the top billing.
Andy Murry of What Culture said it best " People are complicated" No human is so good, that they cannot end up doing harm. It is rare that when we are tired, hurt or frustrated that we choose forgiveness, kindness or sacrifice. I think all involved will do wonderful things in the future as they did in the past as well as regrettable things in the future as they have in the past. The same is true of us. We shall wait and see what we can do to help those we care about get to a better place. It is too soon to conclude anything right now.
Thank you for cause alot of people are acting like it's all punks fault.but let's talk about hangman who started thi.lets talk about so called VIPs going to confront cm punk while they knew he was still mad.

FTR true professionals inside & outside the ring. This is what true legends are made of and why these 2 guys are right up there as one of if not the greatest tag team in wrestling history. Kudos to Dax & Cash for their professionalism and maturity. If you don't love these guys you got serious issues and need to reassess your own life. Again kudos to FTR and hope they have a long long long happy successful career in AEW.
To paraphrase something Kevin Nash used to say. It sounds like allot of people being marks for themselves and worried about some kind of spot.
Yeah vince would have blackmailed him then brought him back ten years later and made an award in his honour.
While the Bucks have their critics, most agree that they are also fundamentally good people.
So i agree that this is mainly Tony Khans fault.
No matter he that it is, he cannot just go out there a make a fool of a fellow wrestler, and even worse, bring the whole dirty laundry out in the public. Because again, even at this point most people had no idea what it was about.
There were so many moment to fix this.
I kept yelling at the screen hoping Tony would at least pat him on the back or arm and tell him to chill after going in on Colt, tell punk his match was awesome with Mox and try to get him to put over his own match
I agree with what they are saying but you also have your lower card guys who are going to worry about losing their spot on the roster because of the TV time and money that they might otherwise get. I think many view AEW has a place for up and coming Stars to go and build a bigger presence.
Was this video directed by Kevin Dunn?
The Hardly boys dropped the tag titles to swerve in our glory for no reason other than they didn't want to have a 3rd match with FTR and do the right thing for the business that they are EVPs of. Now look what happened.
This was before the Media Scrum. I wonder what their response is to Punk now.
I've said it before & I'll say it again "Get rid off the Cucamonga kids"
Yeah, i probably in the mimority on this, but, i am glad punk did what he did, result sucked, but, those dirt sheet writers deserved a receipt and he delivered
Really cool of FTR to provide a different perspective and being clear with what they think of Punk rather than whispering backstage and letting rumors fly. I do believe Punk is the one being honest here, even though he went about it the wrong way. Hopefully this isn't the end for him. Imagine Punk and FTR vs The Elite for the Trios title someday? That would be a massive draw if everyone can get their shit together.

This HAS to be prior to the scrum.💯
FTR cannot be telling truth about CM Punk. All the internet marks and the dirt sheets are painting punk out to be a diva.
Funny, it's almost like the bucks have a mark journalist on call to tell their side of the story who just happens to be the voice of wrestling for most of these internet wrestling fans.
because he is, this was before the all out drama, I don't think FTR would say the same thing now that Punk showed his unprofessionalism
FTR speaking truth… the Nobody’s page and the young bucks are bitter towards punk from day one.
FTR are real Men who take no shit.
Wish punk had the class these guys actually have
Everyone has their sore subjects, Cabana is Punks; Page never should've brought up anything about it.
If Page never would've referenced that, none of this would've happened.
Whatever the case, CM Punk should not of said what he said at the scrum. Should of handled it privately…. I watch BTE and AEW all the time, I don’t ever recall The Elite saying anything at all until Punk went out of his way to bring it into the media.
The bucks don't need to say anything publicly though. They have Meltzer to spread all of their lies for them.
If you rewatch the promo between hangman and punk right before the ppv, hangman explicitly tried to make mention of “worker’s rights” which alludes to his past legal case with wwe that led to the beef with him & colt but didn’t dive too deep into it look it up or watch joe cronin he played the entire audio of that segment
@@ai.Kyuseishu yeah but CM Punk has done similar things and have blurred the lines in the past. Hangman didn’t go into specifics and most people wouldn’t put 2 & 2 together. Plus months have passed since that line. Dude holds one hell of a grudge

I think Ace Steel is the problem. There were no reports of anything negative about Punk until Steel came on the scene.
Colt, The Elite, Adam Page, AEW EVPS and etc have a problem with CM Punk?
Mainly from the lawsuit situation with Punk, Colt and WWE. The EVPs and Hangman all are close with Cobana, but there was more behind everything with that situation that is no ones business. Hangman decided to make it personal leading up to their match and when Punk was out they gave negative press about Punk to these Wrestling "journalist". Who spread misinformation like wild fire to make Punk look like the bad guy in everything.
If you watch last night post PPV interviews Punk goes off on the Journalist there who are some that spread the misinformation and spoke his mind about the situation.
