Kills as much as you can as fast as you can while performing combos for even more time while still progressing through the level. Honestly the winning strategy to me seems to be farm time and keep the fire flower (the only reliable hammer bro/bowser clearer). Now if this game threw lakitu's at us, lord help you.
I think it'd be cool if your enemy's little window got bigger as other people die. That way, if you're one of the last few players, you can clearly see what your opponents are doing.

This looks really cool! I just wish there was a way to battle your opponents more directly. Also the timer should speed up way sooner so the matches don't last for 10 minutes. Looks like it could be really fun, though.
I assume the timer issue will resolve itself in due time(lol) at the moment everyone only has access to the first few levels, but once players will have to play the harder levels it won't be that easy to survive.

Am I the only one who totally doesn’t wanna see that? The amount of time that he would have to sink trying to get 24 midairs in a row is so not worth it. I’d rather him spend that playing more no-skip super expert runs.
Maybe it's available for a limited time... As a teaser for a full out Mario Royale throughout all the old Mario games? This is freeish so maybe it's just a test run...

If they are doing a test like this there is no development for a bigger project started yet. So at least 1,5 years from end of the "the test phase" And in 2+ years the BR crayz will be dead and over soon...
They should have had a mode where you have to race the whole game and be the first one to finish it, I also wish they added more items to use on your opponents such as mines, walls etc. that would make it so much more fun!
I think I preferred the indie game, but I loved how Ryu liked this one, smiled, laughed, enjoyed. This made my day. And this continues in a few minutes at 8pm CET :) Thank you Ryu!

@ryukahr: Reason you did not die at the moving shell since it was moving to the right, you hit it on the left side, so it will just kick it for more shell speed toward the right, they added modern mechanic to Super mario bros. 1 for the battle royal
Honestly: It looks pretty boring having almost no influence on the other player's game. I'd rather have enemy points that you can collect to send more and more tougher enemies down the line. Or how about having a roulette that changes the stage like making platforms smaller or something.

This game needs to start the red, ultra fast timer way earlier than it does. Every match ends up going way too long when you get down to the final 2 players. Other than that I'm loving it.

Everyone complaining about him uploading at midnight need to stop complaining. Im Australian and it is 4pm for me which works out good for me but I will have to stay up to midnight to watch the smashbros character reveal and 2am for the release of Mario 35.
This is the perfect example of the biggest problem with this game. When you get to the final 2 people, you're both giving each other a load of enemies to kill, so you're getting loads of time, so neither of you will time out

So it's pretty clear that they built a specific type of game engine for Tetris '99. They made that game engine to allow insertion of hacked NES ROMs and have the ability to alter those ROMs on the fly, kind of like the Japanese only Broadcast System of the 1980s early 90s..
I was in a game for like 15 mins. It's fun at first, but I never could get past 3-2. You end up doing 1-1 over and over and over and over again, it just ends up being boring.
The good part about designing a battle royale this way: No lag. The bad part about designing a battle royale this way: Virtually no interaction with other players. It takes the "battle" out of "battle royale" and turns the game into Competitive Solitaire.
So I feel like there has to be a way to attack better, right? Because it said ko's was a stat, and after winning a game ryu still had 0, so maybe there was something he was missing? Irdk

Anyone might as well die to an enemy, but Ryu specifically focuses the ones with little time saying to "knock them out" while he's actually helping them get more time. The game having this as an option makes it seem as if it would benefit you to give people with the least time more enemies. That's what doesn't make sense to me Wouldn't you rather want to give those with the most time the enemies, hoping that they die, since they are the biggest threat to you, and at the same time not providing more time for those who are running out?

If you send enemies to opponents who have more time than you already (most likely attackers and maybe those with the most coins), then they can get an even bigger time advantage against you. Granted, you could theoretically get in a loop where you and your attacker (assuming they're also set to attack attackers) keep sending each other more and more enemies. This becomes more dangerous, but it may be good for racking up time for both players. If an opponent is running out of time, you can assume that they aren't very good at the game, so enemies are more likely to eliminate them. Even if they are good, if you send enemies to them, you may be helping them stay in the game longer, but they aren't as likely to get as much time as you very quickly, so you still have the time advantage. It's worth pointing out that it may be desirable to hoard coins so opponents send more enemies to you, allowing you to get more time. In my opinion, sending enemies to those with the most coins is the leaast favorable option. My recommendation is to target lowest time or random for most of the match.

I wondered if it would have ended sooner, if you just don't kill enemies when you had 200s left. When you don't send him enemies he can not gain more time an you can probably outtime him. Maybe it's a little risky because you cannot see how much time he has.

Yeah it needs tougher enemies like bullet bills, squids, water level and other shit
Yeah, the difficulty needs to ramp up more quickly too. It was pretty tedious how long it dragged on with two competent players at the end

I’m glad it doesn’t appear to be laggy at all which is the biggest issue with MM2 multiplayer.
It always frustrated me when you wouldn't pick up the spare fire flowers despite the time running out so quickly.

The enemies off color are from other players. The last person died from an enemy already in that level, at that spot. "normal color".

The biggest thing I noticed is taking damage as Fire Mario makes you Super Mario instead of small
