- Nintendo just released an official Super Mario Battle Royale Game called 'Super Mario Bros. 35'!!!
For those that don't know:
*Super Mario Bros. with a 35-player twist!
Race against time, defeat enemies, and sabotage your opponents in an online battle to be the last Mario standing!
*Classic Super Mario Bros. gameplay gets an adrenaline boost!
Each player is given the same timed stage, but you must defeat enemies to earn extra time and attack your opponents. Don’t forget to pick up some coins on your way-they can be used to get in-game items like power-ups. With speed, skill, and strategy, you could be the last Mario standing.

Yes he is aware of what he has to do to win but idk why he doesn't play like that.
Another interesting thing is that if there's 1% chance of failing at a simplest jump then DGR is 100% guaranteed to fail that jump.
Well in this game that might be good sometimes. If it's down to the end and you got plenty of time and the other guy's screen is flashing red, why send them enemies that'll give him more time?

The reason there's no lag is because you are essentially playing solo. You see the screen from all the other players, but your gameplay is not affected by their own, so the state you see from other players is surely purposedly a bit late, like 1 or 2 seconds late. And same with the monsters you send to opponents, they only appear later in the level, so even if someone got 1000ms of lag, it does not affect anyone's gameplay.
To Dave and anyone else who didn’t know this: you don’t have to use the D-Pad to move, if you go to options and hit A on the movement option, it changes your movement to using the joystick and shows a joystick image
i think after the 6 months nintendo should change the game so smb2 , smb3 , smw etc

Dave, the trick isn't to speed run the whole time. When it's down to the wire, slow down and send as many enemies as possible to hurt your opponents. Eventually their resources whittle down and they can't do anything about it. The idea is to conserve til the top 3 and then get aggressive.

@@thisisasupersayin376 Some people who know they are ahead in coins and time will actually stall to avoid giving them enemies to build their time up and let them run the clock down. You can use coins for time when you get power ups you already have.. 1-2 is a great level to farm multiple times to build up coins for this.

Hey Dave, you're doing great, and it looks like a lot of fun! You may want to slow down a little though.... A lot of your deaths seemed to be due to little platforming mistakes rather than being overwhelmed by enemies or running out of time. This isn't a speedrun, and going faster isn't necessarily beneficial, so there's no need to rush.

Actually a guy named InfernoPlus made a Super Mario Battle Royale a year ago but then got taken down by Nintendo. This really is just a scumbag move by Nintendo.

I get that they like own the rights to Mario and stuff, but it's just an abuse of power, they took down someone's free browser game inspired by Mario than remade it for themselves and put a price on it. How would you feel if you were the original creator and they took the premise of your game. And it's not the first time, any fan made game of Nintendo that people have actually put time and effort into, Nintendo has struck down, like Pokemon Uranium or Another Metroid 2 Remake, they're even trying to take down the Mario asset made by the users of Dreams. And it's hard to deny they're a good company, because they do make good games, I mean, they just announced Minecraft Steve for smash, but they're kinda just scummy guys.

It definitely feels different compared to the original. (Even from the NES Online version, which is also emulated.) It's most noticeable in the water levels: you move a *lot* faster in this compared to the original.
Still a lot of fun to play though. 😄
Painful to watch DGR playing this, to be honest. He let so many enimies live! You need to kill enemies!!!!!
Frustrating watching this dude play sometimes. Speed running through the levels the whole time, hardly being agressive in sending enemies to his opponents, skips 2 bowsers in the clutch, skips every single power up, uses power up roulette at unnecessary times.
If you want to watch a good streamer on this game Ryukahr has mastered it much quicker. He uploaded a 2 hr video and some of thise games he played were intense, long and down to the wire.

I'm sold on it already. It's an interesting duel when you get down to the last few people and it all comes down to who doesn't screw up first because we all know the Mario levels like the backs of our hands.
This is not a game of speed. It's first a survival game. Kill enemies, collect coins.

Time is always a factor because eventually it ticks down faster, and you want to build up as much as you can.

There's no reason for there to be any lag in this or Tetris 99 because staying in sync doesn't matter at all. If a player gets the enemy a second or two after you send them who cares, there's no reason the game would slow down other players because of that.

Completely passes by dozens of enemies he easily could have killed to get time and send enemies other players' way.

Right ? Hurts to watch. A few of these Mario streamers are just awful at the game. Ryukahr picked it up so quick while people like Juzcook and DGR are just so blind to everything.
I wish this wasn't a limited time game. It's so fun and it works so well. I love the idea of Mario battle royale.

The lack of lag is very simple.
In SMM2, the gameplay is deterministic; RNG is the same on all copies of the game as long as player inputs are the same. Presumably multiplayer makes use of this, but it means all player inputs must be perfectly synchronized for RNG to be synchronized. So the game has to wait frames if one player's inputs takes longer than a frame to be sent to everyone. This isn't really reasonable on the internet, leading to lots of lag.
Meanwhile there is no such requirement for this game; if one player is lagging, that just means their attacks or death are delayed, which isn't the end of the world. Your game RNG is separate (presumably) so this is fine.

Fun facts: They didnt patch the Power Up jump glitch, You can kill a Lava Bubble with a star you could not do that in the OG game.
This has potential, but I really don’t like that they changed the original SMB in ways that aren’t battle royale related. The health system and the way Mario controls got changed for no reason. They should also do Lost Levels DLC.
Why would they include DLC for a game that's not going to be available after 6 months?

I forgot how late the other enemy types are introduced into the game. Still waiting for stages beyond world 3 to become playable.
Problem with these speedrunners/streamers is they've learnt to disregard coins and shinies; it puts them at a disadvantage here as they impulsively miss things they could be hoarding!
Last year, someone released an unofficial Mario game where 100 people could race each other online on the classic smb1 levels. It made a big splash in the gaming community, and very quickly Nintendo shut it down with copyright claims. Many gamers were lamenting this, wishing Nintendo would just butt out, and let us have our fun.
Well, it finally has come full circle, and we can now see why Nintendo was being protective in this instance. Now, instead of having a bootleg SMB1 online racing game, WE GET THE REAL DEAL!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
