Guys awww I laughed out loud at that footage of us running into each other! How funny was it that we just kept running into each other ... it's like the universe wanted us to finally meet. Sad we couldn't hang out today, but can't wait to see your episode from St.Bathans. P.S. to anyone reading this comment - Glen and Mado are even cooler in person! Catch you down the road. x
When I lived in Germany I made pies for a few friends, they loved them. I often thought it would be a great business in Germany to make pies, once people got to try them they would go really well. I know two people who started making pies in the US, and they just went crazy for them. So there's a business idea for you Mado, when you return to Europe..
Sangas Pies especially the holy smoke was our favourite, closely followed by fat bastards in Invercargill… whilst your in st bathens you should head over to Waipiata and check out Waipiata Country Hotel - Waipiata Pies they are #1 plus they do Guiness (bonus) 👍
Yea sangas pies was actually started by the builders in front of the shop - Sangster construction 😂 - originally just for the local tradies … now it’s a bit of an institution! Kiwis love a good pie If you guys are going past again, Jackson’s orchard is where the locals usually go, not tourist prices - just along from webbs 👌✌️
Lots of nice fruit, the seconds can be great buying. Cromwell is famous for strong winds over the summer, it sure can blow. It is nice they were able to preserve some of the old town before the lake was filled up.
Cromwell has some excellent vineyards with tasting rooms and cafes. Also there is Highlands Motorsport Park, with Museum, go karts, cafe and track laps, well worth going to if you have time.
I envy you both so much. I have been a full time nomad in NZ for 6 yrs now and so much of my day is spent trying to find places to stay that I miss all of the wonderful things that you discover. It makes so much difference when you can travel with someone else. One drives while the other searches out things to do, places to see etc. Finding good sites to stay in the tourism areas gets so hard. Would love for you to be able to note where you stay, but can understand if you would rather keep some secrets.😊 Travel safe. 🙋♀️🚐
Yeah pie rating would have been great, form part of the Kiwi experience. Can't beat a good pie, as they say "always blow on the pie" . Take care a may the pies be with you LOL.
New Zealand still had a number of manual telephone exchanges, like the ones you played with, up until about 1990. Queenstown still had a manual telephone system in 1988, serving 2400 customers with 64 operators manning the boards in rostered hours.
Great video. If your in Timaru again at any point I would suggest checking out U-bake in washdyke they do some really good pies or the bread basket also does some really tasty pies. Also try the Wakefield bakery if your near Nelson at any point
Lol, I just had a wine and ploughmans platter at Pinot Junction Cafe for lunch with my daughter yesterday, and we also had cocktails at Penny Black on Friday! 😂
Ummm. Aotearoa has the Supreme Pie Awards every year. It's pretty much the pie Olympics. If you win it you are going to be the busiest pie shop in your area for years to come. Pies are serious business.
another beauty of a vlog thanks mado and glen once again. i agree you guys need to do a pie journey throughout NZ and get as many pies as possible hahahahaha. such a quirky pie spot that one in cromwell. if only the fruit shops were 30% cheaper. thankyou for your awesome adventures we love them keep them coming 🥰
if you're caught on the road and craving a pie and not near a decent cafe/bakery, Z petrol stations do pretty decent pies at reasonable prices 😋 #localtip
People from overseas always seem skeptical about our meat pies, but they return home connoisseurs, Those apricots looked so good, big and juicy like peaches, sadly supermarket ones are always small and dry, I have no idea why
Forest Lodge cherry orchard in Cromwell is probably the world’s first 100 per cent electric, zero fossil fuel orchard. They have a electric tractor that can autonomously follow you or do work by itself. Cromwell is the future... the future is very pretty.
Thanks for the video…fruit was very cheap from prices here in Auckland. I must say I miss the fruit from down south, I grow up in the South Island. I would like to mention, I have been watching you both since u started these blogs. Mado, u look like u aren’t enjoying yourself, Glen laughs and jokes which gives a happy vibe. Mado u can be a bit grumpy which is starting to make me feel like I don’t want to watch. Bring back the fun….
Mado you are the sweetest soul. Your doing a fantastic job. It's quite tiring & can be exhausting travelling. NZ is an expensive Country, low population. I moved from London to Cromwell, big shock😂Your right Mado there's not much to Cromwell. Glen you are hilarious. So glad I moved away, just not enough going on.
Maryanne, please make your words sweet: you never know when you have to eat them! Mado is a lovely young lady, she is often the upbeat one of the two. They do get tired driving around a lot but they pick each other up, so get to know them better I think...
Not true at all, what a rude comment. Mado is just a bit more serious than Glen, and probably English is her second language so it's harder to express yourself. I think they compliment each other perfectly.

Haha yeah! 😂👀 yeah what was the chances sure it was a lot of fun guys we needed the social aspect. It was awesome to catch up!

Love the way you always have a clean shiny car!
Happy travelling Nick
Definitely sarcasm?? 😂😂
@@GlenAndMado
No! I was genuinely impressed how clean the car was in last episode!
And I know how difficult that is to achieve when you’re travelling!

Looking forward to seeing your episode with Nick and Raychel ❤😊
Cromwell was lovely before it all ended up under the dam waters, such a beautiful drive through the gorge, price of progress i guess.
Cromwell has some excellent vineyards with tasting rooms and cafes. Also there is Highlands Motorsport Park, with Museum, go karts, cafe and track laps, well worth going to if you have time.
Glamping is definitely for me! 😊

Mmm sanga's pies pastry looks delicious 😋🇳🇿
It's never too early for real fruit ice cream.
reckon

the random pie must be their way of getting rid of their flops 😅the look on the face says it all 😅

Those pies look good yummy 😋 but out in the country, you would expect anything to be expensive! Keep up the fun, Mado and Glen 😊
$5 for that fruit was such a great deal!! $9 and $10 in supermarkets nowadays. It's got ridiculous.
We always buy our stone fruit at Webbs. Best value and flavour!
I think we've got two new pie connoisseurs 😛😋😉😁
Clyde is a pretty village a must see

Dam it....are you going to the Cromwell Dam
I think you've both eaten enough pies now to be considered kiwis 😂
Did you ever eat meat pies before you came to NZ?
Prob a steak and kidney pie when I was a kid but not for a long long time
@@GlenAndMado I love seeing visitors enjoy a good NZ pie :)
Your Pie reviews now have a cult following. Thanks for another "pearler"
My son lives in cromwell

Get it straight, folks: NZ is expensive because NZ is green.
Now that’s a financial wiz
The prices are 😢 🤬
that method of connecting phones was still in use in the mid 1980s in parts of Otago. . .
Glen is way too touchy feely. He seems to need to touch or climb on everything lol.
lol you're too bougie now with your pie tastes, not liking the mince pie with green beans
Best summer fruits are in the Hawkes Bay guys and are way cheaper than in Cromwell lol literally some food for thought for next time. 😊
Beautiful place petty it fleeced with rich white population mostly notice no maori peoples around in most parts of Te Waipounamu - SI 😮
We all have choices and stop being so racist
Wow! Just reverse everything you've just made comment on as if it had been written by a white person, think you'd have plenty to say then.
Are you sisters and brothers? or Twins?
Answer?
