- Finally got my Mcculloch 300 Vintage 80cc Chainsaw running after 10 years, thought I would do a feature on the Old girl. We'll Check out some of the facts and figures and See if She's up for cutting some wood! #oldchainsaw #vintagechainsaw #kainkustomgarage
Love the dogs! I had a Mac 250 and made a similar looking set but had5 teeth. I was 22 and broke, someone gave me the saw. It took all a friend and I could scrounge up to get it running. Used it for many years. We had no money but we’re proud to have it. Now everyone wants new stuff or they want nothing. Strange how the would has changed in 40 years.
One day we found a piece of aluminum and drew teeth with pencil and cut it out with a band saw. Thought it made the saw look cool. Couldn’t afford to buy a dog, they cost $10. Seems funny now.

The old Mac's based on that platform were considered fast cutters for their era. Later on they ran faster and cut faster. These were the basic engine that the go kart engines were based on also. Nice clean old saw !

I like that full wrap handle. I now have 2 250's, a 395 (european version of the super 250) and a 450. But all with the half handlebar.
Yeah, It came on another Mac I got years ago, Don't see the full wrap much on these😊

Really good looking survivor Mac. Sounds great too! 80cc POWER! One of my Dad's friends mounted an 80cc McCulloch saw to a racing go kart frame back in the 70's. Still had the handles on it, that thing was cool and ran strong too!

The 300 mccullogh is 87cc. Its got a inch and a half stroke versus 1.375 of the 250 and 250 super
If you run across a McCulloch flatback carb try Sugar Creek Supply. I had one in my 250 and they had the parts I needed to get my saw running again.

Yeah today I just picked a combo deal up a mac 300 that came with a poluan 60 bucks, pretty rough shape from the looking at it, way to cold to go and work on it today, it's like below freezing hope i can get mine running

@@KainKustomGarage b4 I got a chance to work on the mac 300 a super deal came up a stihl 051 av complete with chain and 36" bar and a new spare 36" sandvik windsor speed tip bar he took 150 for it and said he couldn't keep it running, I took it home drained the gas blew out the filter poured a few drops of gas down the carb put that all back together, filled it up with fresh gas and bingo got it running, made a idle adjustment then cut up a few logs, runs perfect, what a beast of a saw talk about luck on that buy

what a beast heavy i bet the carb is seen on some vintage sleds hd tilly they either work or dont there are rebuild kits still thanks to the vintage sleds gang keeping them alive

Lovely chainsaw, I had 250 super but it was around 87 cc , was cutting sweet ,feeling bad for selling but never know might find another. Take care and all the best.

The 300 mcculogh is 87cc. Its 1.50 stroke versus 1.375 of 250 and 250 super. It does NOT HAVE A removable head.
Most I have shorter bars--what they came with I guess.

Bonjour j,ai la même chez nous en France que j,ai trouvé chez un ferrailleur j,ai changé carburateur plat par tillotson hl 63E je n,avait pas de menbranes ,pour l.instant je remets en un 550carter noir carré et j,ai une 250 à refaire lanceur aluminium sur un tour il est cassé

The amount of mis information said in this video is surreal. If you don't know don't speak. Just cause the head comes don't mean it's 87cc. The 300 is 87cc not 80
