I love the new wheels . I know the reviews on the other two versions, people complained about the wheels not wearing well. So glad to see the company takes people’s criticisms to heart and makes changes to their luggage.
I like the Version 3. I don't fly Spirit or Frontier, but I am trying to downsize my carry-on since I always check a bag. My goal is to make my personal item a purse, or small tote bag, but I'm not there yet. Unless something has changed, Take Off is a small business and it is great to support a small US based business.
WOW 😮 I thought " why does she write "personal item"? This is a carry-on! BUT NO NO It's a personal item Had no idea they came this way WOW And if you break your wheels, no problem, buy another set and not a brand new whole personal item! Game changer 😊
Oooooooooooooohhhhhhh, pretty forest green! Favorite color! Dammit, I already have 1.0 in blue! It's a fabulous bag! Wish I could have taken it on my most recent trip. Decided not to because I wasn't sure it would fit EasyJet's sizer. Converting inches to centimeters suggested it was a half cm too big. I was stuck with a backpack and a weekender, ugh.
I think the wheels are the biggest improvement along with bringing back the zipper storage inside and yes, the green is amazing!!! Thanks for watching 💞
I like the new wheels and the green is awesome. I'm not a budget airline flyer, but I love the idea of it fitting even for very restrictive airlines. I have the version one and I've never had a problem with the wheels, but the new version seems like an upgrade, except they would take up more room inside the bag or your pockets if you're forced to remove them.
Partially do to your channel and preference for wheels (which I abhor), and partially due to a recent health issue I purchased my first set of HINOMOTA wheels which are attached to a sub $100 OpenStory find. I will probably never fly with it internationally but i like having this bargain on hand. That's being said I had seriously considered TakeOff due to you featuring this small Chicago business !! I do swear that if I was flying somewhere and I got to the gate and they said it would be $100 more I would probably break the wheels off in protest! 😮 TakeOff is a great idea and I really like the changes in version 3!!
Looks like nice upgrades, but what do you do with the wheels once you take them off? Do they then have to go inside the bag? Frankly, with all the horror stories I have heard about deep discount airlines (upcharges, rude staff, etc.), I'd rather just book with one of the major airlines.
I guess I’d like to see proof it fits under the seat? Breeze and United has 17 inches for a personal item so not sure it would work. I guess get those Spirit flights in now since the JetBlue merger didn’t go thru.
You don’t need something like this for United, as you can bring a carry on for free. You can do a carry on and backpack on those flights without paying almost $200. Spirit has gone “bankrupt” several times and is still going.
Looks like a great bag! We are traveling to Sweden for 3 weeks during Christmas/New Year, Carry on only!🤦🏻♀️ It’s going to be an interesting challenge!! 😂😂😂
Great Review! DEFINITELY going on my Xmas List!! How would it look strapped to a regular rolling carry on or Checked bag using the cincha strap for family travel? Thanks!!♥️
I was just looking at an ad from TakeOff yesterday and hoping you would do a video of the new 3.0 version. Thank you so much! I have a 2 1/2 week trip coming up with 12 international flights. Even though I’ve already packed my Beis small carryon and personal item, because I’m always in the last boarding group and sometimes there’s no overhead bin space left, I’m seriously considering getting the TakeOff 3.0. Should I do it? I hate waiting on baggage claim and hate the thought of my luggage getting lost. Also, how does it compares to July in terms of quality, particularly the handle and new wheels? My husband has the July light carry-on.
With the 12 international flights- if they weigh you, the Beis could be troublesome. I rarely get weighed, so I don’t fret about it, but this is a lot lighter weight and has probably the same amount of room. In terms of this vs July… I would usually say July is way more durable, but their lite bags feel different than their regular ones. This may be a good competition! Plus, the inside pockets!
Thanks, Lauren. I’m allowed 12 kg on all of these flights (South American countries and Antarctica), so that’s a generous allowance compared to the 7 kg I had flying to Australia earlier this year. Fully packed in the Beis small, I’m at 8.5 kg. My concern is having to check it in when they run out of overhead bin space and then LatAm losing it. Takeoff may be the way to go. Could you do a comparison of the July light (non-expandable) carry-on with the TakeOff 3.0 for my husband?
I checked out the website.....what are your thoughts on the 3.0 expandable? I get that it's primary purpose would be as a personal bag, no fees. But I'm wondering if the expandability would make it more versatile if you ever did want to use it for a smallish carry on with a bit more room.
I only take them off to get past the gate agent and then I put them right back on. I’ve put them my pocket or in the little bag that it comes with, and hide it.
This was my question as well. I can't imagine putting these 4 wheels in my pockets. I think I would prefer the smaller ones. But I see you mentioned putting them back on after passing the gate. Does it really go easily under the seat or do you have to put it in an overhead compartment?
The point of a personal item bag is to 1) access comfort stuff during flight. This bag is utterly useless. 2. It doesn't have a trolley sleeve so can't comfortably take through Irport eith other bags. So it's only singular use is for flying on those abusive low cost airlines while stuffing some kind of multi pocketed garment for your in flight needs. I would never be in this situation. It's hard to imagine how many would be.
My local airport which I use to fly to London only has the cheaper airlines so for a 3-4 day trips these are great so if you are going on "holiday " it's a complete rethink

This takeoff 3.0 makes me believe i can pack in all i need. Very impressive. Your videos are a.ways very helpful and thorough. Thank you 😊
Thank you reviewing the updated TAKE OFF suitcase. Very tempted to purchase this new version.
I ordered the wheels to upgrade my existing bag.
Wonderful!
Do I need another bag? No. Do I want this bag….yes 😂
😅😅😅

I absolutely love it and it really is a great price! Love your videos and reviews as I'm starting to plan my first trip in almost 20 years.
Thank you for the kind words! Where are you going?

I absolutely love this bag!! For spirit and frontier.. save so much monies
I really does save so much!

@4:58, I heard Frontier in the background say "Not me!" 😂 there is a reason why we got the 2.0
Love the concept of this, only wish it were small enough for RyanAir! Still trying to find the perfect personal item for those flights.
One of my wheels broke so I ordered wheels for me and my husbands 2.0 luggage
Nice!
Any chance you can do a packing comparison of Tale Off 3.0 and Underseat Pro 2.0? Thanks!!
Actually let me rephrase it - you did a previous video about fitting more in clamshell luggage vs truck. Do you notice that with these two? Thanks!
Lauren, I have the 2.0 and was wondering if the zippers have gotten any better or sturdier with the new 3.0? I found them not that sturdy on the 2.0.
Do you like the l’ange? Is that better than a flat iron?
Looks like nice upgrades, but what do you do with the wheels once you take them off? Do they then have to go inside the bag? Frankly, with all the horror stories I have heard about deep discount airlines (upcharges, rude staff, etc.), I'd rather just book with one of the major airlines.

You can do it!
What do you do with the wheels on the flight? Put it in your pocket? lol
I put them in my pocket and then once through the gate, I put the wheels back on.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great Review! DEFINITELY going on my Xmas List!! How would it look strapped to a regular rolling carry on or Checked bag using the cincha strap for family travel? Thanks!!♥️
You could do their new luggage connector with it, but I wouldn’t do the normal travel belt :)
I use the Cincha belt bag to hold my Take-off luggage (wheels removed) to my carry-on case, and it looks good and works great.

If you were buying it to use as an affordable small carry on, I think it would be wonderful! It just wouldn’t hack the budget airlines.
Where do you put the wheels when you take them off?
Yes...that may be the only down side of the nicer wheels vs the (smaller) single wheels. They've got to be factored in for getting thru the gate.
I only take them off to get past the gate agent and then I put them right back on. I’ve put them my pocket or in the little bag that it comes with, and hide it.

They come with a pouch, once it take off the wheels I put them in a jacket pocket till I get back into the jet way and put them back on.
I was thinking the same was so glad I had a jacket with deep zip pockets last time I flew but could I get 4 wheels in them not sure
The 3.0 interior lining doesn't give me a headache like the 1.0 and 2.0.
I think the 3.0 is much better as well.

Lots of people travel that way. Good for you that you don’t have need to.
Some good points. From what I've observed, these personal sized roller bags are a more common mode of travel in Europe.
My local airport which I use to fly to London only has the cheaper airlines so for a 3-4 day trips these are great so if you are going on "holiday " it's a complete rethink
