- This video : "Pro-Shot (in-house feed) ~ 1st or 2nd gen vhs ~"
(My LoloYodel sense is that it's certainly NOT 1st or 2nd generation ... but it's very good anyway).
This was the closing night of the very fine (exquisite) 3 night run at The Alpine Valley Music Theatre. It was essentially from the July 17th show which constituted ALMOST all of the great "Downhill From Here" video (3 songs actually come from this July 19th show : "West LA Fade", "Desolation Row" & "The Deal"). This July 19th is also a very sweet show and has a truly spectacular "Morning Dew" !

- was there all three nights, probably the best dead experience of all, and I've had some good ones! followed it through to Deer Creek a year later, and Chicago for one of Brent's last shows. Pushing cars out of the mud until 2 a m didn't even bring us down from this show!
Attended all the Alpine shows from ‘86-89… these three nights were pretty special.
Jerry has such a great voice.
As w/BBKing(in our opinion), sometimes&thankfully so, it was difficult to discern between whether #JerrBear was/is better singer than guitarist OR better guitarist than singer
He was a #TopLevelCompleteArtistMusician fully evolved human
Went to 10 show's at Alpine 87-89 was never let down by the Dead, especially Jerry. Best live band imo.
idk more beautiful lyrics/imagery than robert Hunter's brought to life in the arrangement/composition/melodies/riffs/interpretation/constant improvisation/jams of the dead ⚡️💀⚡️
Every note drops with feeling.
Happy BDay dear ol' Jerry Sir !
😅saw them a bunch of times. Always a great time. Alpine Valley was only 30 minutes from my home. We were there a lot. Even just hanging in the parking lot the party rocked. Anything you wanted was available for a small price. I mean anything. We sold ice to people as my buddy worked for an ice delivery service one summer. We were fair to the people. We were not trying to rip anyone off.
ending quiet jam is so rad
I still tear up watching Jerry serenade us 😢
1987-1989 Alpine Valley, this night was amazing! Final show of the run, and I remember this song crystal clear. Unlike the earlier shows which were a bit of a blur...
Def one of the best evenings of my life.
How can u run an ad in the middle of Terrapin?! The humanity!
THIS IS TERRAPIN STATION MAN GROOVY
Great show no doubt
Poor Jer- he was tired but always pushed. Spirit cant be broken. His opus.
Gaaaawd I love this song. Gaaawd I miss Jerry.
2 hours you should feel happy - East coaster and used to travel out to East Troy WI APLINE VALLEY , Always crazy Always fun , Still after 13+ years of Jerry death this is what I want to hear. Just amazing
Garcia's most elaborate&beautiful composition(tho, there are many to choose from)
I was there!

Pudding, I like it
In Phil We Trust
The best
The poster I have of Jerry's "Tiger"...it has black pickups...
When Doug Irwin first made the tiger guitar for Jerry it had cream colored pickups. He did change out the pickups several times.
Hunter's masterpiece
I could swear it was a four night run and who played right after the rain out
ON WISCONSIN
IWT!!!!
i liked this song but i liked it studio better ....until my sister used some lyrics in the eulogy ....and now ...it doesn't matter what version ....it's all about the northwestern corner of a brand new crescent moon
lack luster@7:12 and all in all a hard time getting it together thru out...
Yeah, but the overall quality of the Alpine Valley shows makes up for it - plus they do get it together well enough for the outro, so a positive in the end
