Thank you for this series! I picked up my manual, maybe 4-5 times. Anyone who is building a 500, just watch this and you will save a good amount of time. Thanks again!
Love watching these builds. I’m always wrenching on other peoples classic cars. There’s something therapeutic about watching someone else building intricate stuff.
West I think maybe should revise the tail tensioner over to the right side of the frame, sab has updated there online manual to the right side frame , also info on helifreak about tail issues with having the tensioner on the left frame.
This is like ASMR to me, LOL. xD Or better: _these_, this one in specific had a little too many jumpcuts for my taste, hehe. cheers, man. much love from out of Germany.
Thanks for feed back! It’s hard to film a step-by-step build series into a 30 minute video with four hours of footage lol I try and make sure everything is cut out that does not need to be there and there is no spaces or length of video clip with nothing being sad or silence while I tighten up the screws and such. But I appreciate it! Feed back is always great! Thanks for watching!
I believe it’s in part three I show what I did but I came out of the proprietary connector to a EC5 and my battery plugged into that. That way you don’t have to make any special leads you can use whatever connector you have on your batteries.
I’m doing good! How are you doing? Do I think it’s worth it? 100%. It is the perfect in between size helicopter. It’s not too big but it’s not too small. I am going to do a comparison video on the 420, 500, 580 and 700 just so you can kind of get an idea of the size.
awesome videos and rc heli channel, just one thing why using retaining compound instead of red loctite? like the bearings with pulleys, at one time these bearings can worn out and the part is over with retaining compound
Thank you! I greatly appreciate it, because retaining compound is designed for exactly that retaining bearing races into place. Red Loctite is designed for holding screws into place, and doesn’t have the same compound and holding power as retaining compound. You don’t want your bearing race to spin in the housing so that’s why you use it.

Thank you! I’m glad the video was helpful! I try and make them a step by step build!

Is micro lube something found locally, at auto parts stores or should I just order it online? Or, what is a good alternative?

When you made your charge leads for your charger, you have to buy more of those Sab proprietary connector in order to use that quick release system?

Hey jeff i hope you’re doing well. Do you think it’s worth buying this model if i already have the raw 580?

Is the raw 500 as massive as it Looks? Seems begging for 150+ a esc…
No, it’s only slightly bigger then a 420. I’ve got a 150a ESC in a 380.
Hey Jeff I sent you a email lmk when to send it out my raw 420
Okay, I’ll take a look.
