Fab video mate, excellent build, thank you, just doing mine now. Just a quick pointer to mention for anyone building, the tail tensioner needs a bit more tension put on it before tightening it. (25:40 mins in) Page 10 in the instructions.
Note the orientation of the spring holder, it needs to be held another 90 degrees or so anti-clockwise whilst you tighten the bolt down. Happy building and flying!

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  11 месяцев назад +1

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, yes you can run your tensioner tighter, I’ve built 28 of them now and I find there is no one set every one had been slightly different! Great tip!

28!?! 😂 and 2 simultaneously I see! You’ll be building them blind folded in your sleep, dreaming about them!
Don’t be test flying them blind folded though please 😂
Exceptional videos though mate, all of them, really enjoy them.

for some reason, I had difficult time putting the bolt through the aluminum spring support.
I'm not sure if the aluminum piece was not machined correctly, and the diameter was a bit too small.
also, relying on screw tightness to hold the spring support angle, thus spring tension, seems iffy to me.

Thanks for a great video. Doing my first heli build with a 420 Raw I bought when it first came out. Head and tail built, but the swash (ball joint) is a bit "sticky" when I move the head around and it bottoms out. Smooth all around otherwise. I have followed the manual and your videos as I'm building, so not sure if this is normal. Not sure the servos will even travel that far in normal operation, but want to correct it before I proceed. Any thoughts?

So for two reasons, one they will break in a crash and save the servo gear set. Two, the metal horns are not tapped. So I could tap them but I know not everyone has a 2mm tap or the ability to do so.

DON'T put locktite on screws that goes into plastic... Never. Only into metal/alu parts. Which you 'forgot' to put on the screws into the lock.
Use clear nail polish in plastic.
The Locktite will not hold up into plastic.

Lol no I didn’t forget any loctite. No you never put Loctite on plastic, you can use CA which works way better than the nail polish

@@westhobbiesrc8051 LoL, but you did put locktite on screws in plastic...
      For example the landing gear.
Ohh, you missed locktite on the first grub screw in the main shaft.
And the nail ppolish is possible to take apart again, the CA is almost impossible.

@@x3mperformace no lol I never put loctite on anything plastic. The skid mounts are metal. CA comes off no problem.
