I think that ball stick thing combined with grass field probably contributed to the destruction while hard landing. If you landed like that to a hard surface, like concrete or asphalt, without that ball and sticks, it would problably only cracked the landing gear, and may have cracked the frame, but not as extensive damage as this. that ball and stick thing doesn't really help. there is good reason why RC helis have small skids. also, smooth concrete surface will make the main rotor blades to slide off with some scratches, rather than total destruction on impact like grass field, when the heli is barely off the ground. I would suggest practice take off and landing on smooth flat hard surface, not on dirt or grass field.
That was not really a bad landing, I've crashed my little XK K110s a lot harder than that with no damage whatsoever. My advice get something smaller to learn on, a simulator is also a good idea. Good luck, don't give up!
I’ve a few sims and an OMP M2 EVO, I really wasn’t expecting that to happen, never crash on the sim doing stuff like that😂 Typical it had to happen with the SAB I’d borrowed 🤦♂️🤷♂️
This heli sounds so nice. :) As for the crash, when i go through 5:25 frame by frame (, and . key in youtube), it looks like you hit the ground a bit hard for such a soft spot, so the heli went a bit over the front and then the main rotor hit the grass... Happy flying and good luck!
Think by the looks of if your supposedly safety landing gear with balls caused the damage.wasn’t that bad a landing. Keep your head up and go again. All the best buddy
Thanks dude! Landing is something I thought I had nailed…. On the sim I hover and land perfectly every time 🤣 First flight and on camera nerves is my excuse!! I’m not put off at all, the Goblin in the video is now repaired with all new parts and sitting as good as new, ready for someone to WIN 🏆 on my new website “Random Competitions” I have since purchased a new OMP M2 EVO, but not flown it yet… I intend to get out this weekend and record my first effort, stay tuned to see how I get on 🤣
I never really got how those training ball things are supposed to help. Are you maybe supposed to use them only on the ground just so you can get your head around learning which stick does what, and get some muscle memory, like gain some experience when the heli is facing towards you? It's obvious from the video, and others comments here, that it was the training skids what did it. From experience, if something can get tangled in the blade or the motor they will.
Yeah get yourself a Omp m2, just bought one myself they are allot easier than the Sab and cost less in repairs. Honestly the M1 and M2 are great.Just get a little bigger bird in the Omp M2.You’ve got this 👍
hi there You hit the ground like a load of bricks. Heli's are all about putting the blades into the opposite direction like a ball bearing on a plate in order to stop them. They are a frictionlss device when moving forward so you need to give them positive pitch on landing and also pull pack on the elevator if you are going forward. Flight sim is the best way forward but sadly a lot of them would allow this sort of landin. keep trying.
@@jetplaneflyer yea, maybe just for sliding around an inch off the ground on a hard surface… but I’m determined to get the hang of this flying thing 😃💪🏼💪🏼
Your BEST first HELI is a SIMULATOR, TRUST ME. By the way easy fix here. That hard landing caused the tail to hit the ground and bounce up into your main blades. Bummer.
It was a handy fix, had all the spares at home 😃 I have a few simulators but nothing beats the real thin…. I’m very impatient.. there’s only so much I can do on the sim without itching to get out and try what I’ve learned 🤣
@@TimsRcsurgery IF you can Hover on the SIMM in ALL orientations, you will hover on your bird, that BALL thingy set up is actually hindering you. Stick to the SIMM, learn Sideways hover in BOTH directions and then NOSE in, with NOSE IN everything is backwards, right is left, left is right, front is back, and back is front. You will ADVANCE MUCH quicker using your SIMM, apply it all when you get out there, TRUST ME. Cheers.
I don't recommend training gears at all. rather practice take off and ladning on large flat smooth surface, if you can find one. so that your heli cand slide around all it wants without flipping over. "Hover Here" is free RC simulator with very nice graphics.
Training gear causing a crash again. Your attitude was a bit tail down and when you cut power the training gear bent and sprung back so your helicopter nosedives and then the main blades hit the ground
Try better learning gears, check out the ones I use on my trex 500x .. I think what happened is your tail blades hit the grass and aided in the flip where the main blades came in contact.. try to stay closer to to, stay on asphalt, the heli will slide, instead of flip on the grass.
That's an easy fix man. Tail booms aren't that hard to repair. All things considered, you didn't do too badly and the amount of damage you did to the heli was minimal.
Unfortunately the number 1 Noob mistake. Flying to far away and loosing orientation. You need to Stay in the line of sight. Close so you can see which way the heli is pointing. Sorry for your crash, repair it and get back in the air. You will crash, so it's good to learn how your heli goes together and how it works. Sorry bout your crash, Try again 😊
You were doing ok at first. Got a bit over ambitious and got too far away and moving around too fast. Better to get several flights under your belt just hovering close in and no more than head height. A smaller heli will also be more crash resistant. For instance that same crash with an OMPHobby M1 or M2 would probably have just required to wipe the mud off the blades and go again, and even if you did break something the parts are much cheaper. PS........ start the flight over grass too, crashes on grass usually do less damage than a hard surface.
I think I’ll set the Fireball to one side for now… I really fancy the OMP M1 or M2😃 The simulator is now part of my daily routine… these are a LOT harder to fly than I first imagined, but I’m determined to get it 😃

I realised shortly after that the landing might have been a tad harsh 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve since got myself a sim… 😃👍👍
Bad luck dude. Did the tail rotor hit the ground and break send I got it to a spin?
Kicked the tail up and got caught in the main rotor… not ideal 🤣🤣
