    I know this is an older video and please excuse the basic noob question, but can you use just the SRXL2 as the only receiver? And will it only work with Spektrum transmitters? Thanks for all of your videos! I think I've earned more from you than even the forums. Hopefully one day I can repay you. 🙂 Mike

    Hi Jeff, just got a used one of these with vbar neo in, do you know if I can get telemetry on rpm and mah used etc on this?
    It has the 60a esc in so I’m guessing not?
    Thanks 😎👍

    Hi guys, I have problems with telemetry to get displayed. Stock esc 60a from sab without any HobbyWing firmware update. Flybarless system Spirit Micro and Spektrum SRXL2 satellite. Any workarround to make it work?
    Best regards!

      You’ve got to show the real time accidents and crashes LOL and problems! Nobody is perfect including myself! We all make mistakes and screw up especially when flying helicopters! But the best part is they can always be rebuilt! You’re welcome, you will really enjoy that helicopter. Which one did you go with? 420 or 580?

    So if I want to switch boom and canopy to a havok edition I need that special tail mount?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  6 месяцев назад

      So actually no, that peace does come with the boom when buying it new. I got that red boom/canopy with the heli and the tail mount was not included but when buying it new in the box it is included.

    Congrats, thank you for the vid. I have a problem with my havok fireball and ikon2, i can‘t set a equal left and right cyclic pitch. Do you have also that problem?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! No I never set both ways, I only said one way because mainly it’s just for binding. So as long as it doesn’t bind one way it will not bind the other way. You don’t need to worry about it being set equal.

      @@danielschibig8014 you’re welcome! As long as you are getting equal positive and negative pitch don’t worry about left and right, just go one way and said it so there is no binding and then double check after.

    Hey there. Just a few comments. Although the wiring looks fantastic, I am usually against shortening wires because it voids any warranty and removes the flexibility of changing the servos to another model and reduces your potential market in case you want to sell them. Second, the HW60A v4 (as all V4 HW ESC's) does support telemetry. HOWEVER, the 60A v4 is the only one in the line that does not have a sensor that others have, so it cannot give you MAh consumed. It will be able to give you RPM and BEC voltage but cannot give you flight pack capacity. The smallest v4 ESC that can do that is the 80A which is absolutely overkill for this heli. I am personally partial to HW but the YGE 65 does have full telemetry as I understand it. Third, did you update the firmware on your 4651T? I think that's the receiver you have. It is famous for browning out without warning or any other discernable cause. The fix is to upgrade the firmware on it to make it more robust. Trust me, it crashed my 570 on a hurricane which I was not happy about. Thankfully I am not that good a pilot and I was not screaming on the hurricane so the damage was not catastrophic but still I was not a happy camper. Looking forward to your flight video of the little guy. Cheers!

      I shorten wires on every model because I can’t stand the wire mess that you get lol I personally don’t care about avoiding a warranty or reselling the service. If I have a problem with a Servo I’ll just replace it that’s the risk I take when I cut and shorten wires. If I ever switch servers to a new model which I never do I always build a new model with all new electronics but I will take the servo apart and add a new wire and good to go. Yes the Hobbywing 60 amp does not give you MAH but I don’t care for MAH I just want the battery voltage which it will give you. I have a lady sitting here I’m gonna take it out of the case and heat shrink it and it should fit. But if not the HW60 out of the case will. I’ve got multiple models with this SRXL2 and zero issue, I looked at my frame loss and hold after every flight and nothing. Never had a single issue with it. I’ve heard of a couple other people say something about that but personally as well as multiple others I know that run the same SRXL2 never have problems. A lot of the time a RX brown out or signal loss will always be an ESC shut down or voltage sag instead of actual RX loss. If your ESC voltage drops for whatever reason past 6 V BEC will shut it down which entails cut power to the RX. Especially in the airplane world 99.9% of the time anybody that says they had a RX brown out for signal loss they didn’t. They had a BEC shut down which is one reason I really don’t like PEC on anything bigger than a 500 size model. But how are you updating? Out of curiosity.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 Well it's one of those things and you don't care about until it happens. It's one of the reasons I don't fly Spektrum anymore. Even Horizon Hobby acknowledged the issue and hence the firmware upgrade. Let me tell you another story. I was at my local field fun fly and one of the pilots was re-maidening his heli. I noticed he had the SRXL2 Spektrum receiver and told him the same thing. He dismissed it and the heli crashed because it lost signal, so sadly my warning became a reality. I moved on from Spektrum but you have to get a special cable from Horizon Hobby SPMA3066 and download the software. I think you will also need the USB interface SPMA3065. There is a RUclips video by Horizon Hobby called "How to update Spektrum receivers" that describes the process. I didn't go through it, I think at Helifreak there is also information how to do it. Again, I bailed out as I need to be able to rely on my equipment (it's not the only incident I had) so I never tried that.
