The fact they made close up models shows the dedication of the crew wanting the best result. They didn’t have to have close ups, but they did. And the attention to detail is amazing. They don’t make shows like they used to.
The amount of trucks the incline railway can handle was inconsistent. In one episode, it was stated as four. In another, five were seen being pulled up. In yet another, seven were seen.
Holy crap, the ad I got on this video right when Duncan went up the incline in that infamous episode....was for Lindt Chocolate and it began with an avalanche of chocolate rolling down the screen into a pool. Foreshadowing. 🤣
This is a great surprise! I have been a fan of the slate trucks ever since I saw Trucks and Dunkin' Duncan as a kid. I also liked the new CGI renders in Blue Mountain Mystery and Journey Beyond Sodor!!
I thought about building a couple of these when I planned on making a 7 1/4 gauge garden railway. I've had a few false starts, but it's on the bucket list.
Finally another rolling stock video! I look forward to seeing more of these! There's so much variety in the rolling stock category both in terms of general groups like the troublesome trucks, and more specific ones like old slow coach!
I've never enjoyed that bit with Duncan being pulled up the winch, mostly because the mechanics of the incline being a type of furnicular railway means that that entire interaction would be impossible - Furnicular railways require the use of gravity to move the stock up and down, which is explained when the incline is first shown - the heavy trucks are pulled down by gravity, and that energy pulls up the empty ones. In the clip, Duncan's very presence would prevent him being pulled up, because even a narrow gauge engine weighs several tons - and as a result, he would be so heavy that the slate trucks would be incapable of lifting him. Effectively, the incline would "stall" until Duncan was uncoupled.
I can kinda see why TrainBoy loves the slate trucks so much. It's because we honestly don't see any other type of narrow gauge freight car props, with a few exceptions (vans, guard vans, gondolas, comflats, etc)
I really need to get some models that look like the narrow gauge engines and their rolling stock, there's just something about them that the larger engines in the show didnt have,
If you’d like to do rolling stock i’d love it if you did S.C.Ruffey & Toad, being the signature truck & brakevan characters respectively I’d also love if you did Bertie, Harold, Bulstrode, & Cranky, being the signature road, air, & water vehicles and crane respectively
3:21 *”The Slate Truck, For Its Size, Is The Most Powerful Truck On Rails, And The Slate Trucks Of Sodor Make Up The Power Of The Narrow Gauge Railway. THIS IS TRUCKS”*
Yes! Eventually! I have really longed for rolling stock! I really hope we can see more videos about T&F's rolling stock in the feature. /Sincerely Anton.
Duncan go boom RIP (I know he's not dead, I was just going along with your in-joke). Could you talk about the history of Scruffey? I know in Toad Stands By he and the other trucks offended Oliver after his fall in the turntable well and he got ripped apart. But in the books he was scrapped and in the show they reconstructed him. Did anyone notice in the show he was the same truck with a scratched eye in Oliver Owns Up who wanted Donald to pull the rake of coal trucks? He was basically just another Season 1 truck. You can tell due to the railing above the face
Maybe you could do a video on the history of the narrow gauge passenger coaches as I think they have an interesting history as in the Railway series they are all painted two toned cream and blue but also all the coaches on the Skarloey railway had names in the Railway Series and that they were also a bogie variant as well and the TV series has a wide a range of narrow gauge coaches in different colours including the blue and cream ones along with some red coaches and cream and green coaches but the CGI series decided to go with coaches that share the same colours as their real life counterparts on the Talylyn Railway
The fact they made close up models shows the dedication of the crew wanting the best result. They didn’t have to have close ups, but they did. And the attention to detail is amazing. They don’t make shows like they used to.
The slate trucks are definitely a neat choice to add more to the narrow gauge content
Finally, the most important character in Thomas and Friends gets an episode.
The main character
Ur funny 😁
Well they certainly had an impact
Slate truck from the narrow gauge railway and friends
@@99superbot On Peter Sam's face right
I always loved their faces.
Yes they looked really nice
Too bad they didn’t keep them in later episodes
The snap it truck from snow frightened the hell out of me
@@charimew3745 Looks like an angry evil grey meme cat
"SNAP IT!" The way Michael Angelis always said that was pretty weird to me I guess just because of how deep the voice was for a single slate truck
The amount of trucks the incline railway can handle was inconsistent. In one episode, it was stated as four. In another, five were seen being pulled up. In yet another, seven were seen.
lol
Yep. Respectively Dunkin Duncan, Trucks and Duncan Gets Spooked.
Well this is the same show that showed Percy going through lower Suddery right after Gordon's Hill.
@@TheBrickGuy7939 yeah, that was a hilarious scene. They could really use some consistency!
@@ChomuOmu In fact it was Awdry himself that showed him going through Lower Suddery in the book!
The history of the breakdown trains or rocky's model would be interesting
A history of the model's of Gordon's Express coaches would be nice.
You should do Old Slow Coach, the troublesome trucks, Henrietta, and the different tankers
I like how you did the slate trucks before the regular standard gauge trucks.
Holy crap, the ad I got on this video right when Duncan went up the incline in that infamous episode....was for Lindt Chocolate and it began with an avalanche of chocolate rolling down the screen into a pool.
Foreshadowing. 🤣
Love that the scene at the end includes Rusty and Duncan also. Almost like you know what we like ;)
for some reason i just think slate trucks are neat
I saw u on a different video 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Every single Troublesome Truck before S4 is BALLING right now
Always loved them. The original brown coloured narrow guage coal trucks are also cool
Saw the notification. Screamed f*** yeah slate cars! And clicked
smashing stuff!
the question is when are we doing that Troublesome Trucks vid we discussed a while back xD
ASAP brother man; that may be the perfect finale to this series! :)
@@ItsTrainBoy finale?!
Smashing. Ooh. How painfully accurate.
That Duncan joke at the end better go as big as "I'm banishing you to the shadow realm." XD
Great series. Can we get the d fusit and coaches next please?
I honest to god love the weathering on the chain at 5:47. You can practically see the rust pitting
This is a great surprise! I have been a fan of the slate trucks ever since I saw Trucks and Dunkin' Duncan as a kid. I also liked the new CGI renders in Blue Mountain Mystery and Journey Beyond Sodor!!
You should do the history of s.c. Ruffie and his moddles
That would be great. “I’m comin’ apart!!”
For some reason this was EVEN MORE entertaining considering each truck has its own story and just all of it. Love these reviews 🙌
I thought about building a couple of these when I planned on making a 7 1/4 gauge garden railway.
I've had a few false starts, but it's on the bucket list.
ThomasTankMerch could remake all the classic episodes with all the merch he has
Finally another rolling stock video!
I look forward to seeing more of these! There's so much variety in the rolling stock category both in terms of general groups like the troublesome trucks, and more specific ones like old slow coach!

I'm guessing you think the same thing, but with every "Duncan" replaced with "Skarloey" (if you know what I mean)
Yes, I’ve been like the only one voting to see them
Me too
I honestly wasn't expecting a history video on the slate trucks, but still great 👍
I can kinda see why TrainBoy loves the slate trucks so much. It's because we honestly don't see any other type of narrow gauge freight car props, with a few exceptions (vans, guard vans, gondolas, comflats, etc)
I would love to see the D Fusit truck and Bulgy's model history if you haven't done either one
Or the tar wagons.
Toad please he’s my favorite rolling stock character
Awesome video! Maybe you could do History of Toad the break van next
The history of Bertie or Henrietta's models would be interesting
Push push go faster faster!
Yeah, rolling stock characters are the most underrated characters.
Agreed!🙌🏽
10/10 content
Who knew these guys had history?
I think the narrow gauge coaches would be cool to follow as there were three types. The open carriage, the blue coaches and red posh looking coaches.
The ending scene:
Dunkin' suffered a catastrophic boiler explosion with an equivalent yield of 50 tons of TNT.
There were no survivors.
Slate trucks are so cool and terrifying when you think about it
Cracking video can’t ‘slate’ you for this..
I’ll get my coat
I really need to get some models that look like the narrow gauge engines and their rolling stock, there's just something about them that the larger engines in the show didnt have,
HISTORY OF THE SODOR FUEL TANKERS!!!
I think maybe a history on the express coaches would be interesting! Its always great to see more rolling stock getting focus for a change.
How a whole episode about the Troublesome Trucks with the different variations and all?
Next should be the troublesome trucks
If you’d like to do rolling stock i’d love it if you did S.C.Ruffey & Toad, being the signature truck & brakevan characters respectively
I’d also love if you did Bertie, Harold, Bulstrode, & Cranky, being the signature road, air, & water vehicles and crane respectively
Never thought we'd move to slate trucks but this is ok from me
Slate trucks always confused me as a kid because of how small their faces were compared to regular troublesome trucks
History on the standard troublesome trucks would be nice
I was not expecting a video about slate trucks, but this is epic, wonder if there are any more obscure models you can cover
Nice. Hopefully a review of the Bachmann slate trucks could be in order
The Silly Slate Trucks get a video!
Could you please do a video about the Sentinel "Gas Bag" locomotive?
Great work as always man! I'd still love to see a video on the figurines =D
Can you talk about the regular troublesome trucks next?
Can you please do the history of the troublesome trucks

I've been selecting slate trucks for ages on the poll !!! Whoop whoop
Same!🙌🏽
Can we get one of these for Hector next?

We need history of Knapford station or Henrietta
came from tug's TUGS video and found this
Troublesome trucks next maybe?
I’d like to see Spiteful Breakvan as this is probably the only breakvan that is rude to locomotives
slate trucks look so cool
Man, I miss the old Narrow Gauge stuff.
Please do the Troublesome Trucks next!
I would love the history of the breakdown train
History of scruffy, Fred and toad
Neither Fred the Diesel or Fred the Truck made the TV show…
@@Joey15811 would you still want a history of him if it was bite sized?

"Spencer's coach", I've seen two at the same time with beginning in series 5. They look splendid👍🏽
Slay-t it, king!
The episode where several broken slate cars were made for is actually rusty helps out, to be honest.
Nice video to watch while I wait for the unlucky tugs new vid
Do the Troublesome trucks
Amazing video
Can you please do one day The History Of The Express Coaches or Henrietta, these are going to be a good ones.
“Brake it, Snap it!” Said the trucks - Michael Angelis
