      that front switch is hooked up to a long metal rod reaching allll the way back to the power supply switch. : P

    honestly cant get over the loud CLACK as the power switch, not a button, physically latches the power on xD

      Some power supplies had a "solenoid" style switch, those were very neat. Still have mine.

      yea thats actually got a full 110 going through that switch unlike modern computers with a few volts.. i remember as a kid working on my pc puting the side back on not noticing it pinched the wire going to a switch like that.. boy did it let out a loud pop!!!

    Best HDD sounds on those IBM ps/2. I remember working on these back in early 90s all hardware was specifically designed for that IBM , you couldn't just throw in a 3.5 ide HD in there lolz

      Luckily this one has 3 standard 8bit ISA slots, the FDD and HDD motherboard interfaces are both proprietary though 😭. This one has an MFM HDD which unfortunately takes up an ISA slot.

      Чему тут настольгировать.Сейчас это Говно компьютер, неудобный, громоздкий, тормознутый, интернета нет или он говно. Игры примитивное убожество. Вот чему тут ностальгировать. Я не ностальгирую вообще, ни по денди, ни по этому. И вообще отказываюсь понимать такое понятие как настольгировать по прошлому. Жить нужно не прошлым или будущим а настоящим, думая о будущем. Имхо

    I have a PS/2 - being restored. The HDD is dead. I NEED one! I need to hear that squeaky noise! And I also NEED a model M keyboard! :)

      Well, I can’t say scientifically why we find the sounds so satisfying/pleasant, but perhaps it’s a nostalgia thing, or maybe it’s how the sounds make the technology feel powerful even though it’s actually outdated and far outstripped by later iterations of the technology.

    That was our first office computer. Once when we upgrade systems to one with a 100mb hard drive, I can remember the manager saying "Wow, that hard drive is as big as a freight train!". 🤣

    E Pensar que a grande maioria dos brasileiros perderam de curtir PCs nos anos 80 e 90 pois, eram artigos de luxo. Eu, mesmo, só fui ter o meu primeiro PC aos 20 anos em Fevereiro de 2004, já com o Windows XP. Acho um charme ter que digitar para abrir um programa. Obrigado pelo vídeo.

    I had 15 of these computers at my first job. It was the late '90s. The technology was unkillable, but at that time it was hopelessly outdated. students used them to study MS-DOS.

    MFM type HDD, woww... I remember they had problems with the bearings. Sometimes I would hit the handle of a screwdriver to help the discs spin.

      Нет он уже был современный. Моник уже был почти плоский. Железо селерон 900, рива тнт видеокарта, 256 оперативки. Но и это было восхитительно.

    really nice mate. definately want one of those. i got an IBM PC XT. love the button for the psu. but i still have a sealed copy of IBM dos 5.0. so im stil waiting for an PS/2 system to try it :)))
