Does your yellow bevel scale show 0 and -1 when square? Just opened mine out of the box and that’s how it set - when facing the saw the left one is 0 and the right one is -1 - do both sides left and right need to be set at 0?
It appears the 45 angle on both sides is accurate by checking with speed square

Hey Spencer, I am dialing in my old 10" Hitachi slider and can't seem to get the left bevel cutting accurately. I have followed all the steps you've outlined in your calibration videos, the saw bevel has been calibrated, the fence/detents are accurate, but when I bevel left to cut base board lets say on the flat, I'm off about a degree. If I bevel right I get a perfectly square 45* bevel. Only thing I could think of is the saw base being out of flat, but according to my straight edge and a piece of paper ( I have no feeler gauges) its flat. Any ideas? I would appreciate any input from you, thanks!

I am having an issue I do not know how to fix with my new DWS516
If I make a straight cut there is no problem. If I make a 22.5 degree
cut, it looks fine until I flip the cut over and put a speed square across
the back the cut is not straight and is off about 1/8 of an inch. Any ideas
on how I calibrate the saw to get an accurate cut..Thks..jc

Drafting plastic triangles work great for many things and are cheap.

Need a little help. I have a dewalt 708 double bevel compound sliding miter saw. If I have the saw fully extended towards me, it seems to cut square on a 2x4. But, when I’m cutting something bigger 2x12, but when I’m cutting and slide the saw in, it’s off by a bit. I can’t seem to find where or how to adjust this.

IMO if it’s off a little bit it will be exaggerated the longer you cut with the slider. This guy makes a good video on adjusting the saw. I actually adjusted mine based on the long sliding cuts ans adjusted from there

You have to flip the yellow lever on the back left of the saw if you’re using dewalt

C I when you do finish work it needs to have a perfect "finish". That $180 saw blade is for someone who needs an accurate, finish ready, cut over and over and over again. Because he does a lot of batch work the blade pays for itself in one job. That's the type of blade you send back to the company to reshape not instead of tossing it and just getting a new one

Instead of starting with a saw that was already square, wouldn't it have made more sense to show the actual adjustments?
