Oh I think given that Paganini was the world's first rock star, showed off all of the time and wrote this piece, [he] would have played it at least as well as anybody since.

Siempre consideré esta versión del concierto con Friedman y Ozawa como una de las más vividas, lúcida y brillante.el LP lo conservo como oro, una joya del acetato. Gracias

If you ever wondered how Heifitz would sound playing this concerto, this is pretty close.

Honestly, I prefer HIS playing to that of Heifitz. Seriously. I find Mr. Friedman's playing warmer and more human. Just one conservatory drop-out's opinion.

Such a WONDERFUL violinist! So much warmer and human in his playing than Heifitz. Yes, I know. That's blasphemy, but I call 'em as I see 'em. I was a violin student of another teacher at Manhattan School of Music during the late 1970's, when Erick Friedman also taught there. He never really had the career that his playing should have led him to. I wonder if he was another victim of the Isaac Stern influence on violin careers that affected such other wonderful violinists as Aaron Rosand and Kyung Wah Chung.

Isaac Stern has a lot to answer for. Was never sure why he had such a big career.

BRAVO for your "Temoignage and Courage for Broken "legend of pseudo_gentle violoniste, réality is others ,others!...I have practice Master-class with Mr Aarond Rosand ,(Monster TALENT as Ruggero RICCI !) At thé End of summer session ,i told with Mr Rosand,he told me :"Ma career has "controled" by Mr Stern ...and IMPOSSIBLE for you to do a ,INTERNATIONAL CAREER,
if you dont be "student of Isaac...
,but about Mr Friedman is prodigious talent!! As M Rabbin.also ,What life !?FOR à Genius TALENT !...Congratulations (Remy,France).

MARRIED TO MY VIOLIN Yes, and Mr. Heifetz thought so highly of Erick Friedman’s talent that the two of them recorded the Double Concerto of JS Bach in the early 1960’s. Mr. Friedman contracted lung cancer and passed away at only 64 years of age.
