Man, I love this tune! Being able to hear any good song like this disassembled is always a revelation and a hell of a lesson in songwriting and audio production. Thanks for providing this!
The amount of synthesizers and sampling is soo much on this track. Some of the guitar sounds are from keyboards. A lot of the bass is not from Curt playing the bass guitar but a variety of synths. Thank you for the stems
Very very very helpful!! Thanks a lot for sharing!! It's not the crude, raw inputs - the effects are baked there, reverbs, etc (that would be too much to ask!!), but even so, it's amazing, it's the originals!!!

From his site, there’s a few answers. One is that they’re leaked or released by the studios or labels themselves. Sometimes they’re multitrack recordings made for Rock Band. And sometimes nobody knows exactly how the stems appeared on the internet. Probably people who worked on the original session and decided to make copies of the multitracks, then copies of those copies are copied onto tape. Eventually someone gets their hands on them and decides to upload them to a torrent somewhere. It’s impossible to figure out exactly where some come from but I’m just glad they exist at all. :)

Heck, I surely would! And if you've got the ways and means to do so, then it's *wholly* possible, and I don't see why you shouldn't! But it's what you do beyond that, which is probably a completely different matter. If it's purely for the personal enjoyment of the process, then heck, go for it! Not sure how serious the deeper ramifications could be beyond that, but you never know, some things have a way of going viral these days... :-)
@@VelvetVoice Thanks for the confidence! I actually started a remix shortly after writing this comment, but it's been quite awhile since I touched it. Depending on the legality of these stems, I may just get a used copy of Rock Band 3 and dump the stems from it, just so I can say I legally acquired the musical stems. However, I doubt it would matter that much.
Separate from the rest of the multitracks? Or do you mean seperated by all the different layered vocal harmonies? Because the vocal multitrack itself is already isolated. In the case of seperating the vocals by each different harmony, Melodyne should be capable of doing this - not perfectly, but very close.
Amazing! It's still annoying that they're released like this though. I have a 12" extended version of this track with a longer guitar solo etc. Same with Erasure, I have the official extended version from their EBX2 album yet none of the extra parts seem to appear on the multitrack! Would be interesting to hear the real original recordings with different takes, extra parts that aren't in the 7" single.
@@seeyouintheeighties You're absolutely correct. I have the multitracks for Livin' on a Prayer and I can confirm the tempo drift is 100% due to tape. When you listen to Bon Jovi playing the song live, two things become quickly obvious - 1, they play to a click and 2, their performance is incredibly tight and they are very cohesive together. This can only mean the back and forth drift in tempo is a result of editing and track re-synchronization, on tape.
How do you do this, it amazing you were able to isolate from the original record-assuming you don't actually have access to the original masters! Must be a lot of work and some amazing software.
Everybody wants to Rule the World is one of those songs that got sped up using varispeed on a tape recorder. Another good example of this is Friday I'm in Love by The Cure.

DX like bass
But the bass is totally synth on original right? See Rick Beato WMTSG

what is the tune? i can play it in standard tuning, i mean i know it is on drop d, but it doesn't sound the same
It is slightly sharp by about 30-40 cents
Should be on D
I need the click of this song, but i cant put it on reaper
The whole song was triggered on midi
Does it fit in the grid, or it fluctuates because of the tape recording?
I believe the tape is the issue - i could be wrong but have a look and let me know
