      Arlindo Nascimento well I mean to him it seemed beneficial for a sith to consider his apprentice equal because then jealousy won't consume the apprentice like it did with the ancient jedi which led to thier downfall, inner civil war.

      I think rather than naive, he was way too much rational. After all he is coming from a race known as bankers and he thought as long as Palpatine gained something from him he would not object his tenets. On the other hand though, in reality, paply had one super uber hyper gigantically big ego.

    The Rule of Two remained useful for Sidious; Vader was a menace outside of the chain of command, with practically no repercussions for whatever he did. He terrorized both the Imperials and the enemy, whoever that might be at one point or another. Everyone who knew that Vader answered exclusively to the Emperor had to wonder just why he remained loyal to that old man. Moreover, Vader was the public face of the Empire and a target for anger and hate while Sidious hid in the shadows. While Sidious did not plan to be ever replaced as Sith master, he always needed an apprentice as his lackey. Might have helped if he hadn't ultimately forsaken the succession part of the RoT. With how powerful Sidious was, finding a proper successor was difficult though.

      TocixDubZ The reason that Vader didn't get a new suit in the end is that it was too dangerous. He could have died just from changing suits. Again, Palpatine had nothing to do with it not happening, not from what I remember.

      Also we don't know exactly what Sidious's end game was in new canon. In legends, it's clear enough that he never intended to be succeeded as he was immortal. It's implied that his ambitions don't end there, but the next stage would've been to become some sort of new life form possibly. The comic itself only makes vague implications that Palpatine intended to from new empire that would be governed with dark side directly, meaning that he intended to maybe achieve some sort of omnipresence. Palpatine himself doesn't really give any clues either. "I live as energy. I AM the dark side!"
      As for new canon comics, Palpatine's views of rule of two are mixed. He seems to keep lip-service to it by training several force sensitives such as inquisitors, but his justification to this is that since they're more like Dark Jedi and not Sith, he isn't really breaking the tradition. Then again, he also contemplated that maybe Vader should be replaced by non-force sensitive and took steps to make it happen. When Vader called him out of this violation, Sidious deflected this by saying that "everything is of the force." Later he reasserted this that his choice of non-force sensitive servants to achieve his goals was the correct one, that he had "learned from the mistakes of the old masters" implying that he saw Bane's rule useful for it's own time, but now redundant.
      Ofc, he could've also meant the ancient Sith, though I personally think that by old masters he meant his predecessors.

    Technically speaking, Palpatine did develop a 'Rule of One' in which he saw himself as the only Sith. This is noted in Book of Sith. However, this is really a cheap subversion as he still kept the Rule of Two in order. Perhaps this is why after Vader's death he abandoned the Darth title and had many apprentices, but none were Sith lords.

      Anakin WAS more powerful than Yoda OR Sidious by ROTS, He lost 40% of his power level after his injuries and was STILL 80-90% the strength of Yoda and Sidious, And that comes directly from the man who WROTE IT all. Anakin was the most powerful force sensitive of all time by ROTS and the end of the war, That's been stated and confirmed over and over again in multiple places. Read the ROTS film novelization, Mace Windu admits straight up to Obi-Wan that Anakin was his superior and "arguably the most powerful Jedi in existence" , And that only HE was strong enough to stop a Star destroyer burning through the atmosphere with the force, as he did with the invisible hand. Which was what mace was referring to. Or, just read Dark Lord: the rise of Darth Vader, "Anakin Skywalker was once the most powerful Jedi Ever known to the order, but now he is but a disciple of the dark side, a lord of the dreaded Sith" , And on Mortis, the father states plain as day "the True Chosen one is the only being strong enough to control my children, now you see who you truly are" , And ALL of that is canon content, But even so, Lords of the Sith is a novel that came out after Disney took over, and it speaks about more of the same, stating how Anakin was the most powerful of all. Like I said, He was already much stronger than Sidious or Yoda either one by ROTS and the end of the war, Sidious knew that too, it was the whole reason he had to make sure Anakin felt as if he NEEDED him, so he would not just kill him. Yoda wanted Anakin to be the one to go and confront Sidious in the first place, but Mace messed it all up.

Darth Vader lost nearly 40% of his power level after his injuries on Mustafar and yet was STILL 80-90% the strength of Yoda and Sidious. He was ALREADY 120-130% their power level you moron. Anakin Skywalker by ROTS was thee most powerful force sensitive ever known. Period. That’s is canonical FACT. Read the film novelization, and it’s sequel. It states it as clear as clear is possible. “He was the most powerful Jedi EVER KNOWN to the Jedi order, and now he is a disciple of the darkside, a lord of the dreaded Sith, and avenging right hand of the galaxy’s ruthless new emperor” , I can go on and on with fact and the source to find it in dude.. You don’t have a single clue what you’re talkin about. You’ve proven that. He was 23 almost 24 years old and in the beginning of his prime by ROTS, AND a hardened war veteran that had already trained his OWN apprentice into a little beast herself. Again in the ROTS film novelization, Mace Windu literally admitted to Obi-Wan than Anakin was his superior, and arguably the strongest Jedi in existence.... and Dooku said himself that his power literally scared him in that he could feel him growing stronger and stronger and stronger as the battle rages on.. That he was the most dominant saber duelist that HE had ever known, and Dooku was KNOWN himself to be thee best duelist of the Jedi order second only to Yoda before he left it. He used to beat Mace Windu all the time again before he left the order. Mace was literally afraid of him. And yet Anakin flattened him in one minute flat. This is not a debate dude, stop trying. You know nothing. Go read a thing or 2, or just watch the film, listen to Lucas like I said, or watch TCW... He was the Only being in existence powerful enough to control the literal Gods of the Force itself. Could Yoda do that? NO. Could Sidious do that? NOO.. ONLY Anakin Skywalker. And that is a FACT that cannot be argued. The Father told him outright, “only the chosen one is strong enough to control both of my children, now you see who you truly are....” , like I said. It’s not a debate dude. Stop trying. Skywalker was the strongest force sensitive ever known by ROTS. That is Fact, proven in sooo many different sources, and by Lucas himself. Which trumps literally everything else at all. No matter WHAT anybody tries to say. Period..... ESPECIALLY not some random moron on RUclips that doesn’t know anything about it to begin with.

      Doesn't really seem like an apt comparison. If you kill every human at once, then we'd go extinct, but the Sith ideology can potentially be passed down through recordings and holocrons, but that'd be hard to manage after death. For an ideology meant to preserve the Sith, it just seems like like it came with a pretty huge flaw.

      I'd imagine that the Sith would _temporarily_ go extinct. Force-Sensitives with a bad side will never truly go away, so it's inevitable some would fall to the Dark Side. They might not be true Sith, but I reason it would essentially be a cold restart of the Sith Order. If for whatever reason all the Sith knowledge was destroyed or just kept hidden from Dark Side practioniers, the Sith would still rise. It would just be very slow and probably mirror how the Sith Order started in the first place, as Dark Jedi relearn all the aspects of the Dark Side and begin to re-master it.

Now Sidious could ruled supreme as lord and master of the galaxy and he would train force sensitives to serve him and his empire, and of course hunt the remaining jedi. Yeah, I can't stand those people who conclude that Sidious wanted to do away with the Rule of Two and train thousands of Sith. I have no idea how they could have come to such a conclusion. All evidence points to the fact that Sidious believed very strongly in the Rule of Two.
    However, he believed in the Rule of Two and only the next best thing, a placeholder to the end goal of any true Sith: a Rule of One, where the perfect Sith has achieved immortality and needs no one else. Sidious was on the verge of achieving this through his clones, though I suspect that they, too, were also placeholders for when he would discover how to keep himself truly immortal.

Killing dear ones to prove thy self to the dark side, killing thy master when they outlive their usefulness. And by what you state, I feel as if you expect to be overthrown yourself. Would you be content with one stronger taking your place as you did snokes? Or shall you succeed where sidious failed and rule forever?

    Let's be honest, Sidious wanted to run the Empire as one forever. He was probably trying to find a way to become more powerful and deage, so he could take out Vader. He probably had Vader's suit ready all along, knowing he'd get burned on Mustafar. He didn't want Anakin because of his power. Sidious wanted to lessen Anakin's power and use him as a cyborg slave.

    The rule of two is the only way the Sith could have remained in control of the galaxy. It was the only doctrine that used the dark side of the force to its fullest potential. It ensured that whoever was in control of the Galaxy was at least as powerful as, in fact more powerful than, the previous leader. Darth Plagueis wanted to replace jealousy with trust, which was a betrayal of the dark side. He also wanted to replace the cycle of increasing the power of the Sith with each leader, with two Immortal leaders working in tandem to make each other as powerful as possible. This would have worked if Darth Plagueis had picked an apprentice who agreed with his philosophy. But, as we see in the novel, Darth Sidious never had the intention of ever sharing power with him.

    • @undead4500
      @undead4500 6 лет назад +1

      yeah because Vitiate was very "successful" destroying the Jedi and Republic with his army of sith and both his empires didn't completely fall apart due to infighting and Power grabs?
      While Sidious had only one Sith apprentice who singles handily Created a war with both sides are controlled by the sith, brought down the entire republic Created an Empire that completely dominated the Entire Galaxy and complete destruction of Enitre Jedi Order with Luke being the last Jedi in the galaxy by the time of ROTJ.

    • @thepayne7862
      @thepayne7862 6 лет назад +2

      You are right about Sidious destroying the Jedi order and the Republic compared to Vitiate , I agree Sidious was more successful in Vitiate in that regard. Honestly don't think Vitiate later to be Valkorion wanted to truly destroy the Republic he just wanted to cause all of that death and destruction to power that ritual he did to keep himself alive and he wanted people to rule over.
      He manipulated the Mandalorions to send them to war in the Mandalorian Wars he dominated Revan and Malak to his will and have them star the Jedi Civil War. Then there was the Great Galactic War and the Cold War, then towards the end of it he destroyed all life on Ziost when he returned to the Eternal Empire his second Empire that was even more powerful than his previous Sith Empire and the Republic combined defeating both of them but not wiping out the Jedi or Sith entirely. He was over 1400 years old that is some long term planning.
      That being said like I said before do agree with you that Sidious was definitely more successful in destroying the Jedi and did it in a much short timer.

    • @undead4500
      @undead4500 6 лет назад +1

      and like I said both his empires fell apart with him being killed and overthrown and his long-term planning completely fell apart he spent 1000 years of planning to capture only half the Galaxy before losing it not to mention Revan influenced and manipulated his mind to make a peace treaty with the republic and then everything went downhill from there. sith empire started to crumble with sith infighting among themselves during TOR and his family (son and daughter) seized the Eternal Empire from him which also caused more infighting with his second empire and he was gone for good. he was not close to achieving immortality then all of his sith Predecessors even Darth plagueis mention him in more casual dismissive as ancient sith lord who failed to achieve immortality.
      He didn't manipulate the Mandalorians.The Mandalorians already were building their armies and wanted to go war with Republic after the fallen Sith Lord Exar Kun defeat with Republic. Mandalore the Ultimate was war veteran in Exar kun war and the Mandalorian wars was going to happen either way. The sith empire only promised to back the Mandalorians if they started losing the war which they didn't fulfill their promise and Mandalore told Revan of Sith Empire involvement.
      Vitiate achievements was dwarfed by Darth Ruin's Sith Empire which was more powerful and ruled the galaxy for 1000 years before its downfall. The whole Valkorion characterization is horrible re-written of the Character due Bioware writers turned 180 degrees with a character I honestly don't care about Vitiate motives because his motives and goals change when it suits the writers and makes him very inconsistent character.

      Millie Mccarver dark side acolytes. Much like assuage ventress, savage opress, and pretty much what grievous or DURGe would be if they were force sensitive. Not true apprentices but mere soldiers and tools to be used to serve the sith lord rather than the minion as well. A dark side acolyte would usually be more focused on Lightsaber combat (much like the inquisitors who's lightsabers are basically Sci fi Swiss Army knives) and simple force powers than truly powerful and dangerous abilities the dark side could offer like Sith alchemy, force drain,or even force lightning.

      Having only two is risky. Never thought about it that way. My problem with the rule was if the apprentice tried and failed to overthrow the master, all those years invested in training would be lost. By the time a new apprentice was fully trained, the master would likely be old and easily beatable, which undermines the whole idea of each generation being more powerful than the last.

    • @zulubro
      @zulubro 6 лет назад +1

      I don't know. If I remember correctly (and I may have to go back and re-read the Bane trilogy__it's been a while), he made it clear to Zannah that when she made her move, either he dies or she does. If you remember the story, Bane was losing faith in his apprentice because she was so hesitant to attack. Why? Because she knew how powerful the Sith Lord was, and that if she lost__there would be no do-overs.

      Bane built the rule of two because the Sith of his time were weak and foolish. Everyone that served the dark side of the Force, called themselves Sith. Even if they were weak in the Force. Weak Sith lords would team up and bring down powerful Sith lords. Bane believed that the Sith had been water down. And he was right.

Besides the most recent introduction of Rose, Baze and Chirrut why is there no latin characters? Why has there been a gender shift in the franchise, now anytime Star Wars is mentioned you will most likely now see references a female lead. Why is there a lack of diversity within the Star Wars universe?

      Wait you forgot saw guerrra? Or the fact that I'm pretty sure Poe is Latino? In any case If your implying this has much of anything to due with racism than I doubt it, at least not with Star Wars itself. To be blunt there's just a lot more notable white actors in Hollywood then there are a lot of the other races. I mean yeah they could go through the effort of adding more diversity in their but from the new trilogy it looks like there already at it! I'm sure things will get even more diverse in the future, but I'm just not hoping their siding with diversity over talent. In any case in lore human race doesn't seem to be an issue even within the empire, kinda insignificant when there are countless different kinds of sentient life, if anything I want to see aliens be introduced more into the main cast than I do anything else.
