eggchasers Rugby 12:27: TIIIM!!!! 😂😂😂 That was Me!
Loadshedding had hit the airport hard when I saw you. So the team was in the middle of trying to get all the machines up and running again.
So I was in two minds when I saw you. My wife still gives me a hiding for forgetting to take a picture with you.
What are the chances that I would be the 1 you walked up to. 😂😂

Can't wait to host you in the Cape! On the NZ /SA fan split... it is mainly the older generation that are AB fans, the younger guys are mostly Boks, so it has definitely shifted.

I think the URC helped a lot to get the rivalry up there. The competition even between the Irish provinces its real competitive and got to know South Africas Provinces and players. The URC was two dogs fighting over a bone and Scotland club won it all. The two weeks of rugby was outstanding with real upsets and very close games. We will now see with the All Blacks coming to South Africa if the new URC system worked for us. I miss Super Rugby, but it was NZ that kicked us out and really the URC is making money and making a stronger Ireland and a more balanced Springbok team. #irishrugby #Springboks

Cheers Tim! Good one chaps, bar one aspect: the Irish win over the Boks. Meant nothing to me. The Boks, trying to implement a brand new game plan, were all over the place, mostly out of place! 😂 And then lost by a single point. Had they stuck to their RWC game plan, they would definitely have smashed the Irish in both tests. So really, how much value can one attach to these tests in the interim between World Cups? As Rassie have said on many occasions: "We'd much rather win World Cup than sit at No 1 for four years and not win the World Cup." For me, looking at the bigger picture, the two tests against Ireland said nothing and really, meant nothing.

a lot has changed - that All Black support was birthed because out of Apartheid, and rugby was basically reserved for whites only, but now it represents the entire nations.
and it is evident when you look at the crowd in the stadium. I believe SA Rugby (SPRINGBOKS) unites and represent the real rainbow nations of SOUTH AFRICA. That is why rugby is more than just another sport in this country.

That's what SA people don't get about Ireland. In SA the main sport is rugby, its all they talk and think about, but in Ireland the dominant sport is our indigenous Gaelic games of Football and Hurling. So for a nation of 5 million to beat a nation of 60 million in SA in their back yard in a game which is a minority sport is a big achievement. Kudos to the Irish boys, amazing effort. Hurling is a better game than rugby though, just about, but it is. 🙂
