Hi there, we are sorry to hear about this issue. May I ask how you contacted our support before? Could you please provide us with the ticket number(#111111) etc. to check more details about this issue? May I ask if the issue still exists after you test with another cable?
Remove the battery and use a power bank. I bicycle for hours at a time in the sun. Power bank is separate from the camera and the camera doesn't overheat
I think the reason why there's no 60fps is to lower the power consumption to generate less heat so you can use it longer... Some people will prepare it for surveillance stuff actually. also it's USB 2.0 speed from what I remember. so webcam feature is basically a lower priority and a bonus feature for when you need it the most you can use it.
update: disconnects seem to happen more frequently when using Apple's USB-C cable. I recommend using the cable that came with the Action 4. I will only use the DJI cable and report back if I have more disconnects.
I use a gopro and if i leave the battery in it over heats. I take it out and the cable is able to power it without a battery. If you try it and it works please let me know i am interested on buying one for webcam use.
Update: Good news! The webcam mode works just fine without the battery! I've also noticed that the battery symbol on the top right changes to a cable which is a neat touch!
hey there. my happy success . i want to share here . I am using DJI Osmo 4 as a webcam ALL day. for interviews and meetings. I use 1080 , 30 fps . and a microphone tooo .... i love it because of the wide angle and quality is much better than the webcam from the laptop . super stable and no heating and shutting down problems
Hey man. Did u add sharpening to the video via OBS? Granted you have bit more light the room than I do and ofc it affects on how good the image is, but I felt like I had to add a bunch of sharpening to get the image sharp. This looks a lot sharper than what I get out of it. Other than that I love that it's a plug N play -system - such a versatile and easy piece of equipment for streaming.
I am disturbed by this massive fisheye effect. But I saw another video where the Action 4 apparently made a normal looking video. What is going on here?
Any update on the camera? I do mobile window tinting, and I was planning to use it as a streaming cam outside. I would like to know if it would be a good choice. Do you still have an overheating issue, and does it last longer than two hours?
The camera itself doesn’t have a delay setting. But OBS, however could have something going on, I would check the OBS canvas FPS and resolution and make sure there isn’t any delay effects applied.
For some reason, the max resolution for me in OBS Studio and using the action 4 is 1080p, cant get 4k to even show up as an option, is it because im using the free version of OBS?
@@artoshiverse I thought of trying an android emulator to run mimo on windows that way I could get a higher resolution, then screen capture that with OBS but couldn't seem to get mimo to run which is a shame, I only tried bluestacks and some other one, maybe theres a way with another emulator but havent found the time lately
Love the FOV but no 4k60 fps webcam mode is a damned dealbreaker for me for all cameras if I'm spending real money. Eagerly anticipating what avermedia announces in 2024.
I think that the problem with frame drops is more global, and is related to the USB protocol, so when streaming via iPhone 12 the same problem, and I could not solve it.
some people want to be able to multi-use their products, or only stream sometimes for fun but also want to use their camera for outdoors. Maybe use your brain too...
Update: It still disconnects sometimes and there have been several updates, so I lost hope. Do not buy it for the webcam usecase.

too much hassle
What about powering via USB with a dual USB adapter?
@@realMartinHamilton It works for sure. Cable management is a challenge. Most power banks have multi ports.

@artoshiverse I'm glad it worked and thank you for reporting your findings.
@@artoshiversedid DJI customer support talk to you regardless ?

fuck yeah dude
Take the battery out when you use it as a webcam and it probably won't overheat.

I did not add any sharpening, might be lighting or diff settings, you can still change adjustment settings when in webcam mode

yeah the cam was set to the widest setting, I think it’s fun sometimes but I do default to standard dewarp which is still plenty wide

I give an update on this in my other video

@@artoshiverse thank you
Hi! I'm trying to connect the DJI to record with OBS, but it has a lot of lag (more than 1 second). How can I solve the lag problem? Thanks!
maybe u got “use buffering” on in cam properties (in obs)
But using as a webcam and without battery? Still overheats? Helped me with my GoPro
didn’t overheat on me after the update, using without battery is possible and might make it heat up less
Any problems you know of? Im thinkin to get this badboy with black friday deals
@@artoshiverse Thx for the replay!
Is there already 60fps for Webcam?
what?
have you tried streaming with it to a local rtmp server ? this could solve the issue
not a solution :-(
Do you know microphone is still working while camera is off in zoom or teams?
nope, the cam doesn’t output any audio to discord or other apps
Hi!. When the camera is used as a webcam in OBS studio, it records with a delay. Is there a setting for this?
The camera itself doesn’t have a delay setting. But OBS, however could have something going on, I would check the OBS canvas FPS and resolution and make sure there isn’t any delay effects applied.
@artishiverse I like that tiny tripod you are using, whats that?
from pgytech, i have a vid about it i think

Action 4 max output resolution over USB is unfortunately 1080p and it might even be upscaled from 720p. Nothing we can do. L

Interesting
What is the maximum resolution in webcam mode?
1080p 30fps
@@artoshiverse so they say but man it looks like shit sometimes. To me it looks like 720p but they told me 1080p.
@@luminari_productions true, I'm 99% sure it's 720p upscaled to 1080p which is lameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Time for a new video to show the updates
last 2 updates were significantly insignificant, the only thing i do different is shoot in colour mode straight away since it now has 10bit
Anyone use it with an Android tablet and Zoom or similar apps? I'd like to hear about it.
Have you tried removing the battery?
yes
@@artoshiverse How does it work without battery? Is there still a problem?
@@naivuz It still disconnects on me
@@artoshiverse It's ridiculous that it shuts down after heating up :"( How can a product that can record 4k 120fps not even broadcast 1080p 30fps?
@@artoshiverse I was thinking of getting a Capcure card and running it at 60fps :D
just dont have the battery in and just use 1080p

haha @ the only beta is you here. I didnt see that coming
you don't need to have a battery inside the camera when used as a webcam
you must buy a webcam or DSLR if you are streamer and shame of DJI, DJI Action Camera is for outdoor not for indoor please use your brain
say that to my face dosser
