Seeing a lot of talented music authors starting to dive into 80s sound makes me really happy. 80s will not come back and nothing can beat them but still...
80s music for me was musical in a way that most modern music isn't. It's a shame but it feels as though anything with a strong melody is considered too cheesy these days, where the 80s embraced it with elegant harmonies and playfulness. I think the world needs an 80s music revival right now.
@@juliancroot I also miss high saturated 80s Marshall mids and I am sick of that scoop guitar sound labeled as "modern". Seems like music producers purposely want to record bad-sounding rock these days.
Bring back the 80s sounds in modern music again, I wore out this Cassette of Taylor's first album. Every song was so good. Roland d50 was used alot on her record, Very good job on this song, wow!
The 80s was a great era for music, and I'm glad I grew up to experience it in real time. And I agree we should bring it back! Ah the Roland D50, it's not mentioned as much as the Yamaha DX7 & Roland Jupiter 8 these days, but it was all over loads of 80s music. Good times.

Tell it to my heart I can feel my body rock every time you call my name The passion's so complete It's never ending As long as I receive, the message you're sending Body to body, soul to soul Always feel you near So say the words I long to hear Tell it to my heart Tell me I'm the only one Is this really love or just a game? This is a GREAT surprise, Julian!!!!!!! What a fantastic piece you chose to recreate!! I have to say that it is very complete, well mixed and all the sounds are very similar to the original (a praise in particular to the brass which are awesome along with the main lead). Absolutely one of your most beautiful ever... I LOVE IT!!!!!! Keep it up my friend and I send you a big hug :) :) :)
Thanks Kos. As usual your approval makes me very happy. Appreciate the feedback on the sounds too... This was all about the sounds as it's musically pretty simple.
Great rendition, gotta love the 80's. I dug out my vinyls the other day and on my Miami Vice album came across an instrumental version of The Damned's 'In Dulce Decorum'. I can't find this version anywhere on Spotify, RUclips etc but remember being entranced by it as a teen. I think you would do that justice.
I'm not near my studio at the moment to check, but I frequently talk about my use of blending multiple patches from different instruments to get the sound I want. This involves quite specific grouping, eq and compression, so its rarely as simple as just selecting a single patch and would take a dedicated video to explain.... Which I may do more of in future. I think most of the sounds in this were constructed from FM8.
@@juliancroot I understand what you're saying, I appreciate your time and really enjoyed watching your videos some of your remakes sound better than the originals!! awesome work🎹🎹🎹🎹
It's a custom sound I made by blending multiple synths together. Especially for a lead sound, I rarely use just a single synth. I mostly use Retrologue 2 and FM8 for my custom sounds, but also use some presets from ReFX Nexus and Halion Sonic.

👏👏👏very nice!
Ive always loved the music on this track, the solo part on 1.55 secs is to die for and you nailed it sweetly.
Thank you. Yes I always enjoyed the solo too :)

Actually just found a link to the miami vice version lol. Wasn't there last time I looked.

I got you challenge an instrumental mix starting with Blue Room's version of Everytime You Go Away combining it with Paul Young's version.
Very nicely arranged!
Thank you 👍
Loved this. Would love to hear your recreation of Running up the Hill and The Stranger Things Theme as well!
Stranger Things would be a fun project. 😁. Thanks Thomas

What kind of sound is this synth solo at 1:57? And what is the original name?

@@juliancroot Sounds like it was the original soundbank👌🏼
Great cover!
Great, thanks. Always cheers me up to watch one of your videos. Great air drum playing.
The air drumming has been toned down a little so I don't end up breaking something, lol. Thanks Steve :)
Only 5K views? what a shame
Hiiii! Can I use this instrumental for a cover on my Instagram page?? ❤
Hi, thanks for watching. I get asked this a lot, but my current wish is to keep this unique to my channel.
