- The 360 is possibly my favourite trick to do. I've been able to do this trick for almost 15 years now, here's all my knowledge in under 5 minutes. I would love your feedback in the comments.
I love how your videos have that lovely green/blue filter on them like your instagram posts !
Thanks Matteo! I love that look.
I am watching this video only after I strained my ankle. I was learning 360s on a small jump that was just about my chest height, and had a really steep landing for beginning. I managed to get the rotation going but I landed on my back tire way sooner than the front so I over rotated and crashed. My ankle is ok now and it's good to hear that a longer takeoff helps. I was always skeptic that the local jumps were not right but I told myself that I shouldn't make up excuses for not learning 360s.
Pretty advanced stuff but great vid and advice. What about dirt jumps 101, the real basics? Where do you start?
Sportilium I recently posted this! Thanks for the feedback
Mark Matthews ill check it out
Hey Mark... thanks for this! I know this is an old video - but I've just hit an air bag for the first time here on Van Isle and I was looking for advice on the 360 - I was falling sideways into the the rotation. I think I was extending outwards and staying too tall - I"m excited to get back to the ramp and try tucking more. Thanks. Maybe see you at "sendair" soon! Alan.
Thanks for the comment Alan! I hope this video was a good breakdown for you. Stoked to check out Sendair soon!
@@MarkMatthewsMTB yeah man - worth a visit. Thanks.
Such a great video, thanks so much for the help. I’m pretty decent at doing a 3 on a small fly out and flat ground 180. I’ve got the knee tuck and look at the rear wheel down pretty good but I’m a little scared to take it to my mulch double. Im assuming I carve less and relax more but are there anything I’m missing before I try it on a pretty proper double, or would you say it’s actually easier with the more airtime?
Slushy Rides what happened? Did you do it dude!
Angus LS not yet. I spent some time working on bar spins an hurt my ankle. Still healing, but nothing serious.
Jackson Slushy updates?
Yes! Sorry for taking 5 months to reply haha. you got it right now ugh. relax more, carve less, drop the inside of your body. How have the spins been going?!
Great video, even when you’re already able to do 360‘s it helps. I can do them pretty constantly over normal sized jumps, but after that video I‘ve realized some mistakes I make.
One Question I have is, if I should do a hop (like when doing a hop 180) or if I should wait until my back wheel leaves the takeoff. Would really appreciate an answer 😁
Hey! I find waiting is best and drop the inside shoulder
Think that’s why he’s saying keep weight over back wheel . On big jumps no need to bunny hop
Thx mark matthews for that one and it is true that it takes ages to learn I can do them out of a fly out but not over a gap or lip and landing. Is there anything different about doing them over a jump
Yes, you will have more airtime so it’s the same thing... just relax a bit more and set yourself up for the landing
@@MarkMatthewsMTB okay thx for that
Thanks! Very helpful!
Rad! Stoked it helped you
Sick vid when i land imma come back and thank you again
Cheers, get it! 👊🔥
You said don’t turn your head too soon . What’s correct time and what’s too early ?
I saw your other comment as well. You’re over thinking it. Just start hucking them and you’ll find the sweet spot.
You said you used to be to far over front when trying 360 . What happened when you were too near over front ?
More bar bumped
@@MarkMatthewsMTBbar bump ?
Hello Mark,
I’ve been doing 360s on a jump a similar size to this one, but I’ve been nearly looping out when I land every time. Once I tried to put my weight more towards the back of the bike when I carved but I didnt get enough pop and ended up not getting the rotation around. I’m doing something seriously wrong and I was wondering if there is a way to fix it. I’m just afraid to put all my weight on the back of the bike, I have no idea how to carve like that. I’m just wondering how to not land back wheel forward every time.
Boost the jump more, sounds like you’re riding low/racer style and not boosting
Ok thanks so much for the advice
Would it be harder to get 360’s on a 29er enduro?
The bigger wheels the more difficult it is to rotate.
Nice video!👏🏻
Thanks!
Awesome video I’ve been trying to do them on my bike, if I suck up my seat and and drop my arms to the landing will the bike become more dipped to land cleaner🔥🔥🔥
yup!! awesome thanks
Hiya Mark I was just letting you know that a lot of people including myself are unable to get to the giveaways page and enter your fork giveaway, is there anyway to fix this? Just letting you know 👍
Kane Curnow thanks, how so? What happens when you open the email I sent you? I noticed lots of people entered their emails wrong
@@MarkMatthewsMTB I saw your post and went to the link in your bio. It started to load the url www.markymath.com/giveaways but it just stops and shows a blank screen meaning I couldn't even put in my email in the first place which is unfortunate, it just would not load, I'm not sure there is anything you can do which is a shame!
Kane Curnow the correct url is markymath.com/giveaway
@@MarkMatthewsMTB hey Mark I see you changed the link it works perfectly fine thanks heaps!
@@kanecurnow4738 yes! way better system now
the question is should i try this on my enduro ?
why not?! send it!
You said you like these jumps because you get lots of time to carve on but then you said hit the jump as straight as possible. Confused
Skill issue
But if I lean towards the back wheel I land rear wheel heavy
Umm then you don't have enough control on the air if this is happening. Go back to the basics a bit and work on popping hard and then nosing in nicely. Get that motion completely dialled before trying spins.
Is it like always the same because i want to 360 a 4 meter gap step up but i guess i am gonna overroteed
Make sure to rotate way slower on bigger jumps
saudade de um barspin.
Dis
Having the right bike has to be the least important factor. Silly to include that first, but ok.
Learning on a dirt jump bike or bmx will
make a massive difference
It's probably one of the most important things you wouldn't do a 360 on a dh bike to start, would you? You'd do it on a bmx/dj first
