    If there is no resurrection there is no hope in an after life.

      I agree. There is no hope for you, but there is for me.

    Sorry preacher, based on your preaching, I need to know 2 things: Has anyone ever bodily resurrected on the third day after his death? If yes, is it available to me and everyone, including you, Preacher, to rise bodily on the third day after our deaths? Can you say Amen to this?

    Folks, my reference to Paul 15:17 should read 1 Cor. 15:17.

  • @ernestmonroe2240
    @ernestmonroe2240 7 лет назад

    I disagree, Christianity does not rise or fall on Paul's 15:17, which this minister paraphrases. Rather, it rises or falls on the ability of Christian preachers, teachers and leaders to keep the people blinded to certain contents of the Prophets of God, namely Jeremiah 16:19 and Zechariah 8:23. Check these scriptures out for yourself folks. This minister and others know of and are very familiar with these prophecies. Keeping people ignorant cannot be a good thing, in my view. Accordingly, deliberately doing so can hardly be of God. And, if it's not of God, then who?

      Ernest Monroe you have misjudged so badly haha. Christianity relies on the ressurection of Jesus lol or else its silly. Rewatch the damn sermon this time and actually listen to what hes saying, or is it too intillectual for you?

      Ernest Monroe bro even if your not a Christian it really is without a doubt true. Christianity cannot exist with without the resurrection. Also I read the verse you put up and I don’t see where you are going with your argument.

    Just off the top of my head, Maegista is Disney's "Dragonslayer" died and rose again. He, unlike jesus, actually came back in order to help his adept and the people of Urland.

      Angus Adolphus you have no historical evidence at all. The only reason a person believes in the ressurection is because of the historical evidence that makes it extremely compelling. Its why no christian believes in zeus or the spaghetti monster. Rewatch the talk.

    There is reasons why these types of religious speakers don't debate on this resurrection nonsense to the scientific community because it's safer to just preach in a church about it cause there's no one there to stand up and challenge him.

    Hmm?
    Could the Women that come to the empty tomb be the constellation of Virgo?
    Virgo is next to Ophiuchus (The Coffin).
    Thus, it is not an embarrassment, it is an astrological allegory for the death and resurrection of the Sun.

    Pastor David Asscherick says, "Christianity stands or falls on the historical reliability of the resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth." No it doesn't. The historical belief must fall, because there is no evidence and it violates the laws of science: nobody dead and buried comes back to life. When it falls, it will stand on its mystical meaning, when it unfolds and becomes the new foundation. That is your blessing from the Lord.

    • @Software.Engineer
      @Software.Engineer 6 лет назад +2

      Yes it does lie on the ressurection of Jesus. You would be stupid to not think so.

  • @waltpicca33
    @waltpicca33 9 лет назад

    Pastor David Asscherick say, "We can prove beyond a shadow of doubt that Jesus Christ, friends did die, but, more importantly, he was raised from the dead on resurrection morning." No you can't, because he was not a historical man: no proof whatsoever. That is your blessing from the Lord.

    • @montage9447

      Walter Picca to be fair there’s more historical evidence of Christ than that of Julius Caesar. The Bible itself taken from religious context is simply a historical book.

    Bodily resurrection is an impossibility. Indeed, what I doubt most about Jesus is his resurrection! I am inclined to believe that he survived the crucifixion and to save him from a second crucifixion, Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus and James (Jesus' brother) came up with a brilliant hoax - a decoy burial as narrated in my poem below. If Jesus was buried 6 feet in the ground, his resurrection would be more believable.Instead, a cave was the choice of burial site as it allows a living person, no less than able-bodied James (!) to take Jesus' place in the tomb!. In the night, James rolled back the stone and made his getaway (the crucified Jesus would not have the strength to roll away the stone and who in the meantime was medically attended to somewhere else by Nicodemus who bought a large quantity of myrrh!). The rescued Jesus then sufficiently recovered some 2 weeks later to meet his disciples and some years later, Paul on the road to Damascus.
    I note that in Acts and his epistle, James hotly decry Paul and Peter's contention that one is saved by faith alone. He argued that faith without works is dead and asked, 'Can faith save a man. Incidentally, James' epistle was much redacted to make it appear that James believed in a risen Jesus! On the contrary, James believed that gentile Christians should keep the circumcision and Sabbath and abstain from blood and food offered to idols! Peter too initially believed that Christians should be circumcised and should abstain from blood and food offered to idols but changed his mind after he was rebuked by Paul. It is probable that Peter and Paul never knew what James knew - that Jesus never rose from the dead!
    You may ask, what about the allegedly fatal wound Jesus received in his side and which supposedly pierced his heart? Such a piercing likely did not happen! The 2 thieves on the cross did not have their sides pierced while Jesus did not have his legs broken. What gives? The 4 gospels were written at least 40 years after Christ's crucifixion. During that time, some emperor in Rome (Nero?), frustrated with the believers' claims of a resurrected Jesus, issued a new edict that those who were crucified would have their legs broken and/or heart pierced before they were taken down. These , with invented stories of soldiers guarding the tomb and Jesus' prophetic utterances on his resurrection and the destruction of Jerusalem were then 'retrofitted' into the 4 gospels!
    Incidentally, when Jesus met Paul on the Damascus road, he was likely fleeing Israel for good! With deep sadness, I have to say, the disciples who believed in his bodily resurrection were left to fend for themselves as Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, Jesus and members of his family were the only ones who knew the truth and took it with them to their graves.
    Backfilling the Empty Tomb
    Let us then endeavor to backfill
    Gaps in the Jesus-Resurrection story
    And a-nil of profit, bias or begotten ill,
    Shear it of its retrofitted glory -
    Suppose, Joseph and Nicodemus
    Arm-bore in linen white as nimbus
    A covered body born of Mary’s womb
    To the newly hewn tomb
    As from afar, wary of tomorrow,
    The disciples, fraught with sorrow
    And wanting wit mercurial -
    Wist not the mock and decoy burial -
    Now, James did oddly but duly relate
    “Faith without work is dead” -
    Suppose he, born too of Mary’s womb,
    Slept that Passover in the tomb -
    Dare you ask, Christian truth-juggler -
    Who played decoy in the retrofitted myth?
    My head urges yours: Go figure!
    Let the improbable be done away with!

      "Jesus survived the crucifixion"Lol you are so funny. Why this story that he survive the crucifixion didn't start during his time? Its madness to say Jesus survived the crucifixion. Far worst than that you are calling a man who was of the highest moral rectitude a liar because he did say he would die and on the third day he would raised from the dead. No doubt his tomb was empty which leaves two possibilities : the disciples stole the body or he really raised from the dead. The former is highly unlikely seeing the tomb was heavily guarded. Again I repeat its madness to say Jesus survived the crucifixion not even his enemies who were there made up that story,lol.

      Normally people die from the pain when being crusified. It is one of if not the most painful deaths one can have. You are a fool to think he didnt die, no one can survive a crusifiction, they leave you up there until you are dead lol.

    i can not say that this is baised on hystorical evedince in its purest sence, as this is is perimarily resting on phycology of the early church not recorded non-biblical acounts, should roman or greek tablets or manumatns surfice saying the not only existence of Jesus but conformation of his tomb and date of death and problems with whom would be considered "finatics" (of whom would be his followers(christans)) it is not a historical acount.
    however the layout and words are convincing enough, with personal acounts also in efect a very good message. it is possible i love my facts and absulote awnsers to much tho ;-)
