Is TINY GOLD Worth IT? Goldbacks, Karatbars, Hyperfractional Gold for Barter

  • In this video I talk about hyperfractional gold for barter and which of the gold products on the market today are best. I go over small gold bars such as 1/10 gram gold bars, 1/20 gram gold bars, 1 grain gold bars, 1/2 grain gold bars, 1/4 grain gold bars, gold leaf, gold shot, and 1000th troy oz gold notes. The most popular that I have seen are by far the Goldbacks and the Karatbars. I define hyperfractional gold as anything smaller than 1 gram. Are these tiny gold products good for barter? Best gold for barter? I also show off a Bele the worlds smallest gold coin. If you are thinking about buying gold for barter then this is the video for you. Gold coins, gold bars, and gold notes can be used for barter. Small pieces of gold are optimal for smaller purchases. What type of gold is the best for barter? I prefer using the Goldbacks and I show all of the premiums on the products in the video as well.

I have some of these hyperfractionals, in Zimbabwe people took to panning for grains of gold purely so they could eat for the day so holding a few of these tiny amounts of gold without doing all the work in obtaining them seemed acceptable.

When it comes to fractional gold coins, 1/10 oz - this is the lowest one that seems acceptable for me - that is still over 16% premium ( based current values of a 1/10 Britania on SD). I'd rather wait and get 1/4 oz with just 5% premium ( again, ased on current values of 1/4 Britania on SD ). This 1/4 oz gold premium is lower than current premium on a silver 1 oz Buffalo that is on sale on SD ( 5,69% premium ). If I need something smaller than 1/4 oz, I'd use my silver.
If I wanted to have something really small to barter but still in an acceptable premium range, I would go for the Gold CombiBar.
You can buy one - 50x1g gold bar for a premium as low as 6%. Yeah, you have to have about $3500 to buy it, but this is low premium + fractional gold in one.

The chance of us needing to barter with gold is very low. It's not a great reason for stacking. It's sensible to stack gold because it preserves purchasing power. But most likely, you won't be bartering directly with gold. You'll simply sell it for USDs or some future currency.

@@syberphish THANK YOU! This stuff is such a scam! The exchange rate is literally just set up on a percentage that someone came up with out of thin air. At the end of the day, if you have one gold back, you spent double plus 5% on the spot price.
People don't get that the premium isn't a set in stone standard backed by a government and people in a real shtf scenario would only accept it for what it is. At the end of the day, 1/1000 of gold is $2. And you're paying $3.90-$4.25 for it.
Go buy fractional instead. If you need to go smaller, use junk silver.
It's a lot easier explaining to someone the content of silver in a dime than trying to tell them that "although thus is $2 of gold it's actually worth $4.29 because this company that made it said so."
Everyone will look at you like.... OK, well this $2 bread is now $9 because of the twist tie on the end. It's insanity and I hope this goes away soon. It's just a sucker move and a quick buck.

The very small amounts are necessary, if for anything, ‘change’ when bartering. I agree, hyper is a gram or at the very most, 1/10 ozt. Definitely, a huge premium but price will catch up. So many people don’t quite “get it". The Maple Leafs in the 25 gram sheet are excellent. I have found that grains are seldom used. But I have seen grains used in silver bars.

I think the problem is the Goldback, is a relatively new money, and people have not been educated on what they are. I only found out about them today, (3-09-2024), and only by stumbling on them in a video about silver stacking. This looks really interesting though. This is REAL money, backed by the real gold contained in the bill, unlike the worthless paper we all carry around today.

I personally don't "stack" anything under a tenth oz but they are definitely cool pieces. Id like to have one of each Goldbacks and build some sort of wall frame for it but i think its. E pretty crazy to stack them with that hibh of a premium. Yeah i don't plan on selling for years, if at all but youll NEVER get those premiums back unless you sell it to someone kn the community.

Silverbacks are a rip off. Goldbacks, if you buy them from Hero for $4.02 instead of SD Bullion for $6.56, they are an interesting thing to collect and make great gifts.

fractional gold is small but is sort in the silver range for purchases. now if the premium for the fractional gold was as fractional as the gold based on an oz then fractional gold would be great. The only thing I see is size reduction. you would have to work out for your self whether that is worth the premium or not.

Not as easy to sell cause not highly recognized & trusted and won't get as much return because of this. Premiums you pay as well as Future premiums can make you extra $$ depending how & when u sell.

I think where these things utlimately fail is the visual inconsistency across the board. They all look so different and I can see people being hesitant to accept them in barter, with the exception of goldbacks, maybe. Do enough people know about them? I've seen videos where people in the "states of issue" try to use them and you have the find the right person in the store to run them in the register, etc. and that's if the store accepts them in the first place. I'm Florida and most dealers are only aware of them but have never seen them. Now, if GBs were to gain traction, especially in states where they are accepting PMs as currency then you'd really have something. If that were to happen, then I'd say they were almost better than silver because they would be easier to carry and transport clandenstinely (Sorry. I'm just in the mood to use big words today) if traveling in backstreet areas where there might be less protection (i.e. major roads blocked, etc.)

I feel you need to be able to hold it in your hand. I prefer the Goldbacks and the Quarter Ounce coins for barter. The premiums are what sucks. A tube of ASEs almost equals a Quarter Ounce Gold coin. If bartered at close to premium, which I've done with ASEs, this could become mainstream. This would put the people in charge of the value instead of spot callers. Just saying 😁

Nothing wrong with tiny gold. I keep a benchmark card in my hip pocket. As for stacking 1/4 grain, it is too small to seriously stack. The premiums are a bit much.
