I would love to see a video of you or Yankee actually spending Goldbacks in a retail store. It would be cool to see if the Cashier or store owner recognizes it as real money or not.
Here are some ways to stack Goldbacks. 1. A stack for Christmas gifts 2. A stack for spending 3. A stack for leasing to earn interest 4. A stack for being your own banker 5. A stack for tipping 6. A stack of collectibles 7. The Prepper's mini-stack Great video, as always.
Again, not for everyone. I have a couple just to say I have a couple. But the 1/1000 ounce goldback is the 1 gram silver bar of the gold world. Love to see a video of a merchant agreeing to accept a goldback over spot price. A previous video showed farmer's market people agreeing to accept the goldback but the amount was curiously absent.
Hey SD, Stormy did a three-part interview with the CEO of Goldbacks, let a look if you haven't already. I like the idea of them as a collectable, for stacking I'm not so sure. To have a few on-hand for bartering or paying for goods/services, they have merit for sure. Definitely a personal choice on these. Good post!
Awesome video! Love the Goldbacks. They are a really interesting project in the precious metals world because it gets people spending sound money again as opposed to just saving in it. Not sure there is anything else quite like it. Please make more!
Understand the hesitancy on these due to high premium but as a retired guy its an easy way to get onto gold on tight budget...just bought 10 Nevada 1's for $5 each, cheapest fractional gold coin is $200+, fifty dollars I can do, $200 not so much.
I like that they tick off some of the old timers on the net the most. I have each state's collection and a few piles of random ones. Figured they look good in the safe with the others. If gold were to stop being manipulated and rise in value, Id imagine it be these super small amounts would grow in demand for the regular person, hence the tech growing too.
It is no secret that I am a proponent of the Goldbacks. Once again Silver Dragons hits the nail on the head with his commentary Goldbacks. I think that Goldbacks are one of the few if not only inflation proof currency. Right now the USD has a 6.5% inflation rate. If inflation lasts long term like it did in the 70s a person would lose $65 for every $1000 they had saved in a year. Over a decade the purchasing power of whatever cash you had would be nearly zero. Because gold never goes to zero and one once of gold buys the same amount of goods now that it purchased 100 years ago, i.e., when ounce of gold was $20 a 100 years ago it could buy nearly the same amount of stuff that $1800 can buy now when adjusted for inflation. When the USD is no longer the world’s reserve currency (notice I wrote “when” not “if”), the Goldback will still be worth something because it’s pegged to a quantifiable and verifiable amount of gold. Having a little stacked can’t be a bad thing.
I understand where you are coming from. I follow my main rules: can I sell it back easily? and buy what I like, while trying to get the best value. Thanks Silver Dragons.
when I first saw the gold back I assumed it was just a collectable. Boy was i ever wrong. They are money in the truest sense of the word. spendable money. just wish they were more widely known and accepted.
Interesting. I always thought of gold backs as a novelty Item with a pinch of gold. I never realized that they would be accepted in every day transactions!
As of yesterday there are now 690+ businesses officially accepting the Goldback. Yesterday at a farmers market I was showing them around and one business owner said he'd take them and he had never seen or heard of them before, so I taught him how and we did some business. It was awesome!
Love goldbacks. So easy to flip in the UK 🇬🇧 but I got mine framed. Do wanna get a goldback wallet with a few of each and travel abroad and see if I can use them
We're converting what gold I've accumulated into Goldbacks. Just yesterday, as gold price was rising, I pulled the trigger when it seemed to stop, at 2,051/oz. We're in our 60's and if things don't go sideways, then we'll have them once we retire. Don't get me wrong, I'm still saving gold & silver bars/coins, for big time emergencies. But the long term savings, in Goldbacks, takes up even less space to store, than solid gold.
With current premiums on them unless you exchange them as in the video you made it isn’t worth it. Comparing 1 gold back to a 90% dime at melt value dimes are the better buy. Don’t get me wrong I would absolutely love for gold backs too be the primary bill we use. They are beautiful maybe one day we can use them to handle inflation
I am buying them when I have extra money. The reason is if the dollar collapses, these will be in high demand. Remember, the US dollar was valued all over the world in a huge way 60 yrs ago and even pre 2000 the dollar bought a fair amount world wide. These will be the same thing when fiat starts failing.
You can get these for below the average exchange rate too. Even when they're out of stock. I have information in my channel description, as well as my contact info if you have any questions.
I live in NY. I just bought some goldbacks, waiting for the delivery. I see no actual use for them here in NY. Maybe the occasional tip to someone who would like to accept it. Id never force something like this one someone as an actual tip without them knowing why its a "tip" I started buying silver thinking Id use it to barter and trade, now Ive realized my bullets and fresh chicken eggs will be worth much more than my silver in a time of true "need". I simpy stack metals for the sake of wealth preservation at this point. As well as the visual enjoyment I get out of something here in front of me that I can hold and admire. I ordered goldbacks just to have some. I think Ive hit the point of metal stacking that having some gold bills sounds like a nice addition. Something to splurge on without any real practical use in the real word. I will say this: In a barter and trade situation, having fractional gold like this would be awesome. The only problem is the person would have to know what they are.
most of my friends know i have gold and silver, they're just not aware of the extent - that practice comes mainly from making it known that i'll cash buy any precious metals article they have if they ever need the money (i've acquired a lot of cheap junk silver in this manor, and a few gold wedding bands lol) - i used to give out silver coins/rounds as gifts during birthdays and the such and everyone seemed to love them (and a relatively inexpensive gift) - recently i purchased gb's as gift items and i get an even better response from the uniqueness of the items even though they're even less expensive (1's and 5's) - and i have a few (not many) put back
Glad you used my word "hyper- fractional" to describe them. I dislike the 50 and 25 denom gold backs because of weight, oversized, they bend on corners more and same price as a 1/20 ounce gold coin anyway. It is a 70% markup on this stuff. But with an account and willing to pay shipping or fees you can convert gold backs to cash, gold coins or split them up through UPMA. Spread the word, $4 gold "coin" at a time. Totally giftable. No way that they can make enough to replace fiat but every year maybe we can wean some people off of it. Oh, and by the way... A small stack of 1s is heavy!
I received one of your silver backs free with a purchase from bullion max and it is awesome. I wonder if they will follow the same trend as gold backs.
I honestly wish everyone that's into gold or silver and platinum will make this the norm because with inflation imagine even if someone accept a oz of gold what if I want just groceries like who spend over 2k for 1 month of groceries
Ouch, That's over a 100% premium. which you only get back if the person you're trying to pay agrees to accept it at that premium. if not then you just paid $3.76 for $1.75 worth of gold. it's a cool idea but it's really similar to the liberty dollars that other company tried to get off the ground and then went out of business
completely different than the liberty dollar they talk about it on their website. Already 200 Businesses in Utah take them for the value not spot price 🔥🐉
When you go to the car dealership do you demand to pay scrap value for a new vehicle? When you buy groceries do you expect them to sell you groceries at below wholesale? People need to understand that there is labor and a cost to making these things just like everything else.
Yes, i can remember paying 1,65 a piece.just for fun. And i bought a goldback wallet and aim to fill it up.with notes rrom all the states in all nominations .lol while they are still available for even todays prices.
I live in the UK and have ordered some Goldbacks from a US seller. I just think they are unique and interesting and want some in the stack. Plus over here they are super rare meaning you can sell them on for very inflated prices. I found only one seller on ebay asking £13.50 ($18.05) for a 1 New Hampshire Goldback.
What gets me is that the ratio of a 1 goldback and a 10 or higher goldback is the same. It only seems logical that a one goldback should sell for a higher percentage that a Ten goldback and what I see from dealers it that a $1 sells at the same price as a ten dollar per dollar which does not seem right. I have not checked out higher values. It only seems right that the higher the dollar value of the goldback the lower the cost per dollar of the goldback.
Just an idea I just came across, they should make silverbacks in half dollars, quarters, dimes , nickel denomination. The problem is it would cost more to produce it that it really worth. Maybe they could find a way to make it cheaper. Just a thought.
l just read, When Money Dies by Alan Fergusson. In it he discusses that the people couldn't fathom the concept that their marks were losing value because the prices and notes kept going up in value. Q: Are we experiencing the same thing. The dollar is going down which increases the value of our PMs. Not the opposite as we've all said.
SD:Why should I care how much it takes to make a goldback? There is no real market for them. They are up in price only because the company owner raised his prices. Since they cost more now can anyone tell me how many "ones" I'll need to buy a new $45 muffler in that Utah shop that accepts them? And do the many freebies that were given to people and sent to dealers and the shill podcasters spend just as well?
Gold dealer in Virginia said he would not buy them from anyone. To him they were of no value???? Is this a misinformed dealer? I really like the idea. Small amount of gold easy to trade, sell.
Meh.... I have a little over 1/2 oz in Goldbacks just to have some gold that’s easily divisible. I’m not looking to buy much more than what I have. They are nice, though.
@@SilverDragons47 That’s about the only time I’ll add more. Or, if my state eventually makes the list and I actually gain the ability to spend them. That would possibly motivate me to acquire more.
Lol if there was a house fire and the goldbacks is in a safe. It'd just melt and turn into a clump of gold. Then you'd just have to separate the plastic. Lol that's assuming you have a lot of goldbacks to actually get a clump of melted gold.
So my purpose of buying silver and gold it's to prepare for shtf. I know that the dollar is becoming devalued and I am anticipating an economic collapse. So you are saying then it is good to purchase goldbacks?
If that's your play, then totally. I'm only mildly interested in these, mainly as gifts for friends and coworkers. That said, were S to HTF and I was selling something you wanted to buy, I would totally accept these.
Well, they are certainly highly portable which is something to consider if you are a prepper. A stack of these will certainly be handy and are far more divisible than comparable gold coins and bars. Even if you're otherwise ready for a SHTF situation, do you want to find yourself overpaying for stuff you need/want? I seriously doubt the people you'd be trading with would be carrying spare change to ensure you only pay for the value of the things you want. They'd probably just accept the whole coin/bar without question and expect you to pay more the next time you pop in for a supply run. Also, Shadiversity did a video about what it would be like to run around with gold coins. I know that's more for Medieval roleplay/fantasy, but that would be something to consider if you're wondering about carrying money and equipment on your person.
Seems like you could accidentally rip those gold backs real easily. But the gold coins are more able to survive handling! But congratulation to your agenda as there are not so many that stack gold back money.
I heard a great idea somewhere that goldbacks can be useful when tipping at a restaurant for example. You would reach lots of people that way and also pay your server :)
If you tossed one of these on top of a 15% tip in reserve notes, it'd probably be appreciated. Otherwise, if the server or bartender is really in a tight spot financially, they might be a little pissed. It also might complicate tipping out bussers and runners or pooling tips if the restaurant does that. These would be great for tipping your barber, car detailer or tattoo artist. People who own their own business, but are still customarily tipped.
When I've tipped with them I offer cash or GBs so far everyone has chosen the GB. I've only done it a few times so no real proof but they get people talking and that is the point at this point😮
great video! question: by retaining the premium on gold-back does this mean if i purchase, on monday a gold-back with the premium is $3.75, and the next day the premium for a gold-back goes up, say to $4.00, which premium is retained on wednesday if i want to purchase something: $3.75 or $4.00?
So if I'm buying 1 gold back for 3.75. And the other guy buys same thing for 4.10 how would you go about that? A little confusing. Also, supply / demand??
Goldbacks are only interesting if a big part of stores and in general people accept them as way to pay plus the huge premiums on it. Why buying a goldback that is between 20-30$ where a big part is premium so gold value is not that much on it, so instead of buying that goldback why not buying a full ounce of silver what is not a combination between paper/plastic with what gold metal printed on it? Is it true that there are also Silverbacks? I thought I have seen a picture of it from your channel. If it's true they will be pretty heavy and the biggest part will be premiums. If they can print 1/1000 Goldback, the good is so fractional that it is small enough for little transactions. A silverback will be only change in cents if you count the amount of silver in it because silver is 80 times cheaper but you will pay the same premium of the piece where the silver is printed on.
There are stores that accept the goldback, with the premium value! Many, actually. Goldback's website has a business network! I have information in my channel description, as well as my contact info if you have any questions.
Dang an oz in Goldbacks?? Isn’t that like $5000+? You got in early I take it. If I had the extra funds… haha. I already stocked up on a bunch of constitutional silver for my fractional purchases in shtf.
Pretty sure silver dragons is close to a millionaire from all his merch and silver sales and kickbacks from advertising various products like goldbacks and metal verifiers.
@@melbournestacker You’re probably right, I wasn’t under the assumption he couldn’t afford it, it’s just kind of a huge premium compared to spot. It to say it’s not worth it, I think it probably is, just to have peace of mind.

yeah I do plan on getting more when I start using them or when new states come out 🔥🐉
@@SilverDragons47 That’s about the only time I’ll add more. Or, if my state eventually makes the list and I actually gain the ability to spend them. That would possibly motivate me to acquire more.
Personally, I'm poor, yet love precious metals. Goldbacks work for me🤷
flammable plastic-gold, sounds like a smart move
Lol if there was a house fire and the goldbacks is in a safe. It'd just melt and turn into a clump of gold. Then you'd just have to separate the plastic. Lol that's assuming you have a lot of goldbacks to actually get a clump of melted gold.
Not for me..... not a good value
as I said they are not for everyone 👊🏽🔥🐉
@@SilverDragons47 yep I heard you say that
They are nice looking and would look nice in someones collection but the premium is way too high to stack.
I wonder if California will make their own goldback?
They've expressed interest
They are very tough. Its 24K gold with 2 sheets of plastic is my understanding. I have some and you couldn't rip them if you tried.
If you damage one Goldback will replace it
I heard a great idea somewhere that goldbacks can be useful when tipping at a restaurant for example.
Could they eventually mint Goldbacks in the State of Florida?
They are about $6 now
No. 1/1000 of an ounce of gold, not worth stacking to me.
as I said it is not for everyone 👊🏽🔥🐉
@@SilverDragons47 you did my friend. 👍🏾👊🏾

great video! question: by retaining the premium on gold-back does this mean if i purchase, on monday a gold-back with the premium is $3.75, and the next day the premium for a gold-back goes up, say to $4.00, which premium is retained on wednesday if i want to purchase something: $3.75 or $4.00?
My state is in the 3rd stage of printing Goldbacks. Where can I find out when they will be released?
Why does Oregon not have a gold back
All those goldbacks spread out is straight up pornographic
Dang an oz in Goldbacks?? Isn’t that like $5000+? You got in early I take it. If I had the extra funds… haha.
I already stocked up on a bunch of constitutional silver for my fractional purchases in shtf.
yes I have a lot of junk as well but it is smart to diversify if people would rather take these 🔥🐉
Pretty sure silver dragons is close to a millionaire from all his merch and silver sales and kickbacks from advertising various products like goldbacks and metal verifiers.
@@melbournestacker You’re probably right, I wasn’t under the assumption he couldn’t afford it, it’s just kind of a huge premium compared to spot. It to say it’s not worth it, I think it probably is, just to have peace of mind.
@@melbournestacker And 5k is kind of a lot for me, in my current position 🤷🏻♂️
@@I_am_not_a_rob0t yeah man 5k is alot I thought my 2k splurge on goldbacks with my Xmas bonus was epic, just keep stacking brother and hopefully one day we’ll be on the otherside and not having to worry about money and the day to day struggles ever again.
