My favorite band, my favorite rock vocalist! Steve Perry, aka The Voice!!! And Neal Schon on lead guitar… this is one of my favorite guitar solos, EVER!!!
Steve Perry is a legend with the voice of a God. The best vocalist in the world. Journey will forever be my favorite band of all time. Pure natural talent from all band members.
My favorite band my favorite male vocalist. Steve Perry is a vocal beast Steve actually played drums for a different band before Journey check out Mother Father live in Houston or Wheel in the Sky live in Osaka if you haven't already
His parents, Mary Quaresma and Raymond Perry, are Portuguese immigrants from the Azores Islands. His father was a vocalist and radio station owner. His parents separated when he was eight, so he moved to Lemoore, California, with his mother. Sam Cooke's song 'Cupid' inspired him to become a singer.
Steve started out on drums/vocals junior high band the Sullies I don’t know how far into high school they played. Steve also plays bass, little guitar and little piano. He was:is also big R and B.
Mr Steve Perry joined Journey as there primary lead vocalist on there 4th album Original lead vocalist/keyboardist Gregg Rolie did there first 7 albums, with a few duets with Steve Jonathan Cain replaced Gregg on Keys when he retired. Journey was blessed with some world class drummers with Aynsley Dunbar on first 4 records then Steve Smith on most of the rest Ross Valery on Bass and Neal Schan on guitar
You brought up an interesting fact. I don't really keep up with what's going on in music today, but what I've heard shows that almost no lead singer or solo singer is seen playing an instrument. Especially rappers and hip hoppers.
I love me some Journey and Steve Perry's voice was phenomenal.. but I just saw a comment that he was the best vocalist ever... Agree to Disagree.. Elvis Presley could sing Rock, Soul, Country, Gospel. can't mess with the King. And don't get it twisted.. I grew up with Journey.. Hair Band era was my era.. but Mom raised me on Elvis.. The King
That's why you think he was best, dear. Agree to disagree. (but Steve was best to me 😁 I think I'm the only woman on the planet who never cared for Elvis lol)

Mother Father from this concert is AMAZING
He already reacted to it
it is magical!
It’s the AABA standard song form. Two verses with chorus, the bridge and back to the main melody. ❤
aaaaaah. that formula never misses

Lol yes Steve Perry used to play drums in his early days. His voice is one of a kind🔥🔥🔥
You would Love Boston and Kansas, really worth your time ❤
3rd best guitar solo ever
Mine too!❤
Yep. Steve Perry is the G.O.A.T.! And the bass in the song is GREAT!!! (Also, when you sing without saying any words, that's called vocalizing.) 😁
Back then you actually had to be able to sing, no such thing as Auto-Tune or looping. I remember when this came out, played everywhere.

It's called dynamics and is meant to separate the song into parts. Otherwise it would be a monotone
Loved the reaction😂, keep up the great work❤
Thank you! Will do!
Steve Perry is the GOAT
Journey was the sh@& he was running when he was not singing works but notes, lol.
They don’t call him Steve “The Voice “ Perry for nothing!! Only wish he would have stuck around longer!
