Hey everyone, sorry, but for whatever reason there is no sound in the one section, so I apologize for that. You didn't miss too much, I just talked about the interior, which believe it or not, I used grey primer from Tamiya; which was a perfect match to the real interior color.
Oops meant to mention it was a flat paint used so it made it look a lighter color than it really was but no two tone but you have an awesome looking one though
Great redo...oh I just got through looking at the same screen shot of the van from the television show.. the red stripe was correct the only reason that it looked like it didn't go up to the spoiler is because the side sliding cargo door was open in the screenshot👍👍😀😀
In reality, the gun-metal is almost indistinguishable from the black. If you didn't know any better, you'd think "Black Van with Red Stripe". In fact, that's exactly what I thought, all through my childhood! Only when watching the DVD's,did I realize the subtle difference. Good on you,for detailing as much of the interior as possible, even if no-one will see it.😉
The photo is confusing you there, the side sliding door is open, which makes it look like the stripe goes half way up, and not to the spoiler. Brilliant work by the way, here in the UK, someone near me has a replica van he uses for wedding & prom hire, the colour you chose is fairly close I would say for the grey area.
I much prefer the rims you chose and the whole thing really came together when you blacked the dividing lines on the doors and hood. Great job! B.A. would be proud!
yes they had the square tube zoomies on each side but not all the vans had them hooked up. the used a good amount of different year and style GM vans including a 71-77 and a g30 with 8 lug turbines for stunt vans. they even used a ford van for a water scene. The original van Is a 83 GMC G20 but like I said they used a ton of different years
Love what you are doing! I have a suggestion for making your paint lines smoother with no bleeding, use fine line tape, its easier to tape your lines as well and you can find it pretty much right next to the masking tape in stores.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent! I have been modelling for more than 30 years and sad thing, my hands are no where near as stable as yours. My take on the choice of color, I like the darker grey that you chose, but personally, a few more hues darker. I like the stripe the way you did it, and the roof fog lights, damn! Awesome job!
Thank you, kind Sir! I think if I laid off the iced tea, I would probably be more steady than I am. I do wish that grey section was darker, but didn't feel like redoing it over since I had so much time already invested in it. I enjoy challenges, much like doing the Maisto f40. Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate your kind words. Be sure to subscribe for more video updates. Thanks again! -Royce
Some episodes had the GMC blacked out while others was red. Im assuming it was red when GMC was sponsoring and supplying the van...earlier episodes were probably blacked out
The thing with TV cars is that they go through a bunch with stunts and stuff so there could be dozens of different details that are all correct. 20 people could do an A-Team van and all be different and all of them be right.
Hey man, this was cool and all but the fact is the van was originally all black with the red.. Not sure but I think the Gray might have come from the movie van.
@ Seth Cragan I'm currently watching the series on DVD and the van is in fact dark gray above the red stripe. This clip from season 1 ep.2 might help. ruclips.net/video/79YI2YmhYGk/видео.html. Pause the video @ 3:49 and 4:10 and judge for yourself. Have a good one! :)
also the first few seasons had the gloss black, red, and grey but because of being able to see the cameras in the gloss paint they started painting them all matte colors so the cameras wouldn't show up andmore
in shows like THE A TEAM, they would of had anywhere from 6 to 20 vans over the series, some painted by one place and others painted in another factory, and the first factory probably wernt to keen on sharing the colour codes,to the factory that is know doing the job they had. I see it even in movies,a slight different vehicle at the end from the start and sometimes you think their not even trying, take Dukes of Hazzard,or Starsky and Hutch, in the later series the were using different models from the original,as they went through so many they couldnt locate any more so used the closest looking models
Just to let you all know the grey paint on the top half of the van was added in the second half of the second season of the TV show and the first van they used was a Chevy not GMC I loved whatching the show 👍👍👍👍👍
No worries it's just one of shows I loved whatching and I have all the box set and I'v been whatching it again 😊 still love it when a plan comes together lol
Perfect. And definitely a massive improvement over the standard car. Did you ever attempt a custom hot wheels mad max interceptor ? Very stupidly I did. I starting that thing off and i had no clue the amount of stress i was letting myself in for. Ended up working on it for a full year, on and off. Really had to force myself to finish the damned thing in the end. The front end took me a looooooong time to get right. The hot wheels cutting was easy. It was making the front sections that took a lot of messing about with. I've seen a lot of people attempt to make the car, and many get all the proportions, angles and measurements looking wrong. But its very understandable, because its such a tricky difficult build to take on. It would have been so much easier if id done the car from mad max 2 instead of mad max 1.
Thank you, Doug. I too view it as a cheesy show but thought the basic car or I should say, van. would be a great challenge. I saw that the basic van is now worth some cash. but I prefer my version anyways. lol
I don't know if im having a mandela effect moment but I could have sworn it was all black with stripe, no grey, in the show when I was a kid. But I google pics from the show it's totally not what I remember.
Mandela effect in total action. Why is the toy van all black? The picture clearly shows the top being grey. The A-Team was my favorite show growing up and there is no way in hell that van has grey at the top. NO WAY IN HELL
Sun visor is black, you mentioned it saying it was cool it was on there, but you left it that ridiculous silver colour, its not even close to correct, but you didn't even bother doing the sun visor, very poor attention to detail.
Thank you for the suggestion. I'm not perfect, I am flawed... I am trying to better the process of these videos etc. PS Thank you for serving our country.

Pedal2Metal just too mention yes the begining of the series the van was black all over it was not grey and black
Oops meant to mention it was a flat paint used so it made it look a lighter color than it really was but no two tone but you have an awesome looking one though
Pedal2Metal yes it also like you mentioned one side pipe painted red
Great redo...oh I just got through looking at the same screen shot of the van from the television show.. the red stripe was correct the only reason that it looked like it didn't go up to the spoiler is because the side sliding cargo door was open in the screenshot👍👍😀😀

nethalus some ones got a replica by me
Thank you for the compliment. Oh, ok I do see that now w/ the large sliding open... lol. Thanks for watching & commenting!
yea the sliding door is open covering the rear panel
+Renegade_Spawn Yup, my bad.... lol.
nethalus the van never was two tone in the series just whats called suede finish
WOW!!! Never had the patience and dexterity to that type of work. EXCELLENT WORK, MAN!!!
Thank you; I appreciate that!
I wasn't lucky enough to have been collecting when the A-Team van was out. Hopefully one day I can find one.
Ebay has them
The grey top was a debate I had with my mom back in the 80s lol. I love your work 👍
Mine is just a loose interpretation... It's caused many hurt feelings. Lol Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome job, have 2 of these carded, I'm opening one to do the same, thanks bud
I much prefer the rims you chose and the whole thing really came together when you blacked the dividing lines on the doors and hood. Great job! B.A. would be proud!
Oh and, one more thing, I don't know if theres room, but an LED light set would be totally awesome!
yes they had the square tube zoomies on each side but not all the vans had them hooked up. the used a good amount of different year and style GM vans including a 71-77 and a g30 with 8 lug turbines for stunt vans. they even used a ford van for a water scene. I like the way it turned out I wish Hot Wheels had released the models of the van like this instead of all black
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together
LOL... yes, yes I do! Thanks for watching & commenting!
"I pity the FOOL"(LOL)!!!
Very good...I like it. The wheels and paint really make a difference.
Thanks, Steve!!
Excellent and love this. Great details and very well done
That's one of my favorite old shows
Nice looks better than the orignal even in pictures
Thank you, I appreciate that! And, for taking the time to watching & comment!!
Love what you are doing! I have a suggestion for making your paint lines smoother with no bleeding, use fine line tape, its easier to tape your lines as well and you can find it pretty much right next to the masking tape in stores.
I normally do use 3M fine line tape, but mine got funky (I guess from age?) so I used Tamiya tape this time. Thanks for watching & commenting!
the right wheels, makes a world of difference. but the detailing. whew, nice work!
Thank you, Mike And thanks for watching!
Ahora si es la auténtica furgoneta del equipo A 👍
Came out amazing
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Hey, you did a great job on this one man. I like it a lot!!!😎
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
that thing is sweet
Thank you so much! And thanks for checking it out.
it’s not a "thing" it’s a "legend"
with a sick LED wing /spoiler
Yo Hairyhand! Excellent job....pleeeease buy yourself a revolving stand and showoff your excellent work and do it justice!
Thank you. I do have two turntables since when I filmed this almost two yrs ago. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great job bruh! 👍 Looks better than retro entertainment series
Amazing job man
Thanks Kristopher!
Greenlight has a A-Team van just like the one you repainted
Yes, I don't believe it was out at the time I did this video. Thanks for watching!
Just watch the video evidently I'm a year behind but dude it looks pretty damn good I like it I like it I want it....lol
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent! I have been modelling for more than 30 years and sad thing, my hands are no where near as stable as yours. Cool, I have some A Team trading cards from 1984.
Love. Atem. Nice. Good. Work. On this. One. Bro. Lee
I have that van do a lot of detailing . Where did you get the new wheels from.
Monoblock wheels
Nice work!!
Thank you!!
Nice job man
The red goes under the wing & ties in with the stripes on the side.
Hey man, this was cool and all but the fact is the van was originally all black with the red.. Not sure but I think the Gray might have come from the movie van.
I used old (TV) reference photos for this repaint... but I did take some liberties when I sprayed the grey. Thanks for watching & commenting!
It was grey on top on tv. May be more dark, and the part down the spoiler was paint in red too.
Mandela effect = Black w/ Red
@ Seth Cragan I'm currently watching the series on DVD and the van is in fact dark gray above the red stripe. This clip from season 1 ep.2 might help. ruclips.net/video/79YI2YmhYGk/видео.html. Pause the video @ 3:49 and 4:10 and judge for yourself. Have a good one! :)
you gotta looooot of patience and Skill my friend, My Hat's off to you sir great job ! You should work for Hot Wheels Lol. :)
Thank you, Jordan; I appreciate your kind words! Also, thanks for watching & commenting!
Awesome Awesome Awesome Van!!!
Would you sell that?
also the first few seasons had the gloss black, red, and grey but because of being able to see the cameras in the gloss paint they started painting them all matte colors so the cameras wouldn't show up andmore
Looks sick AF
Thanks, I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
The production team probably used half a dozen GMC vans as back ups,for the A team.
How about using a hot tip to melt the axle grips?
True... I'll have to try that.
Awesome 😁
Thank you! Also, thanks for taking the time to watch!
We're did you find those wheels.....
They were from monoblock wheels. Thanks for watching!
Ha i closed my eyes when you sniped that axel
Lol, you're too funny!
in shows like THE A TEAM, they would of had anywhere from 6 to 20 vans over the series, some painted by one place and others painted in another factory, and the first factory probably wernt to keen on sharing the colour codes,to the factory that is know doing the job they had. do you sell them?? where do you display them? do you buy 2, one so you can have the original to compare to the one you fixed up?
I've never sold any before, no. It depends, I do usually try and buy 2 of any one model that I really like.
oh, also I have a few display cases mounted on the walls for displaying my favorites.
How do I pay for that hot wheels A-Team van
un lujo amigo exelente !!!!
Gracias y gracias por ver el video!
Show
In the photo the side door is open, that's why it looks like the strip goes below the spoiler.
Oh, ok I do see that now... lol. Thanks for watching & commenting!
Just to let you all know the grey paint on the top half of the van was added in the second half of the second season of the TV show and the first van they used was a Chevy not GMC I loved whatching the show 👍👍👍👍👍
Cool, thanks for the info!
No worries it's just one of shows I loved whatching and I have all the box set and I'v been whatching it again 😊 still love it when a plan comes together lol
I would have bet my life that the A-Team van was all black not black and grey until I just googled it. It's like the Mandela effect.
Perfect. And definitely a massive improvement over the standard car.
Did you ever attempt a custom hot wheels mad max interceptor ? Very stupidly I did. I starting that thing off and i had no clue the amount of stress i was letting myself in for. what's the place called where you got the wheels and this is sick
Thanks Joe! I think their website is shopmonoblock.com
I need to get a air brush or spray paint I only have citadel paints and they ain't great
+Joe Bowditch I like my cheapie harbor freight airbrush and little air compressor. It's hard to beat them for the cost.
What color did you use for the interior ?
Tamiya primer; thanks for watching
The reason that stripe looks like it doesn't meet the spoiler is because the sliding door is open.
what kind of tape did you use
Regular painter's tape looks like
I used Tamiya 10mm tape
Pretty cool, you've been subbed
where can i buy this van ? ??
Greenlight now makes a very nice one.
@@Pedal2Metal_on_RUclips ok thx
i had a 1989 with the polished turbine rims !!!!!!!!!!!
275/r15 bfgoodrich
SWEET!
I would like to purchase a custom a team van from you
Hated the A-Team show-LOL, but I liked the van and I like your detailing work. As always, a fantastic job!
Thank you, Doug. I too view it as a cheesy show but thought the basic car or I should say, van. would be a great challenge. I saw that the basic van is now worth some cash. but I prefer my version anyways. lol

Should of clear coated it then polished it too death
I agree, I still could though. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Man i cringe every time you drill with the car in your hand.😨
Work on this quick. Know your product and too much silence in between your sentences drives me nuts
Thank you for the suggestion. I'm not perfect, I am flawed... I am trying to better the process of these videos etc. PS Thank you for serving our country.
Are you selling that?I will pay you 3 pounds for it.
Send me a message if you are intrested
a team van was black
