It looks so much better now than it did before you restored it! The wheels and the color scheme look great. Overall a fantastic looking model. Thanks for sharing this.
Considering what you had to work with it was never going to be a perfect replica but it certainly does capture the spirit of B.A’s van. I was pleased to see the silver over black, many folks miss that important detail.
As long as I was watching the video, I noticed the name of the one of the producers of the show, Stephen J. Cannell. I recognized the name, not only for being the producer of The A team, but also of being one of the invited guests of the Castle TV show, back in 2009 and 2010. Unfortunately, Cannell passed away from a menaloma cancer in 2010. RIP Stephen Cannell. And, of course, amazing resto work buddy, I know your channel from a short time, but you've a talent for this kind of stuff. Keep it up!
Tis a small world I have been looking for this van for years and managed to find one today at a flea market in UK for £0.25, It is in slightly worse condition as it has no stickers. 12 hours later I switch on my tablet and this is the first video on my suggestion page!happy days, great work on the van!
Excellent result, it looks amazing!!, I too am an 80’s child, I used to wait in anticipation for the next episode of the A Team, it used show at 5:35 pm every Saturday here in the UK if I remember correctly.
I always thought the van was solid black and red growing up but. Couple weeks ago I started watching episodes and realized it was a 2 tone paint with red great job on this
Danny, yet another fantastic redo of a classic ... Really like the silver, black and red tricolor paint scheme. Red wheels was a perfect capper to the resto. 5☆'s as always !!
Nice very very nice 👍.. I used to have two of these ertl a-team vans when I was a kid 😀..."Fool are you crazy?.. nobody drives my van but me"... lol 😀😀 😀
I like the way the vibrations make the wheels spin as you're using the bur tool. I like to think it's B.A. Baracus trying to get away from the fool who's about to take apart his beloved van. :)
Awesome job I have actually two of them and they are in way better shape than what you started with mine. Bumpers are straight grills meet the front hood they were mine since childhood
Danny, your talent really does elevate these old Ertl cars to a far higher station. The quality is pretty obviously sub Maisto level, but with all your effort you manage to pull out as much quality as possible
You made the van the Ertl *should* have made. What an amazing job, A-team was one of my favorite shows growing up so it was nice seeing this done. Also, thank you for showing your process in PhotoShop for making the decals, very informative!
Hahahaha, I watched this show religiously as a kid and all this time I had no idea that the paint above the red line wasn't also black. Watching ye paint I was like "huh, why's he doing that? Is that a custom thing?" Then I looked it up and discovered I was wrong. Every day ye learn something new...
I appreciate the fact that you customized it to be more accurate to the show. I don't recall any A-Team van toy that wasn't all black. EDIT: Looks like the Rough Riders van was silver and black though.
Top job on the van Danny, B.A. would be proud to drive this one! Like a lot of blokes my age I was a huge fan of the show back then (I've since bought all 5 seasons on DVD too lol), kids nowdays don't know what they're missing out on.
I love it when a plan comes together and I pitty the fool that doesn't like it lol. Great job. You took an incredibly rough casting and made it look much better than it looked new.
Hey Buddy, A quicker way to straighten is to right click on the Eye Dropper Tool and select the Ruler Tool. Make a line on a straight line you want to base leveling on then under the image tab, select Image Rotation - Arbitrary - OK. It will then straighten it up according to your line you made with the Ruler Tool. Bam, your done. I actually scan my diecasts on my scanner (at 100%) then do all of the editing in Photoshop. And, just as the way you're doing it, you don't need to print out several copies and hope one fits. I have found that with the scanning the car is already sized properly. Most scanners automatically scan at 100% and you don't need to set anything. But each program is slightly different so you may need to check if it is anything other than 100%. Also, when using the pen tool, when you need to make a straight line, just hold the shift button and when you click your next anchor point it will be straight. It only works for 0°, 45° and 90° though. I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you. P.S. I'm not saying your doing it wrong, just offering a different way that works faster for me. I'm working on a video on scanning cars now. I'll post it sometime mid October.
Love your comments on how cheap ERTL are😂. I would have liked to have seen an all black van with the red stripe sprayed on and the lights detailed with white/grey paint. Also maybe tint the windows. Met face man at comic con two years ago. Such a nice guy.
Turned out great. The only thing I would have done is use a small file and rasp to clean on the passenger window of the excess materials from when it was originally cast
WOW DANNY YOU DID IT AGAIN TAKE SOMETHING OLD AND CRUSTY AND YA BRING NEW LIFE TO IT I BET HANNIBAL WOULD BE SMILING WITH HIS CIGAR AND MIGHT SAY I LOVE IT WHEN A DANNYS A-TEAM VAN PLAN COMES TOGETHER☆☆☆☆☆
Looks like it’d been on a few missions at the beginning fighting those baddies and hoodlums ! But I love when a plan comes together BA would be very proud I’m sure . Nice work Danny looks great 👍
You would have only received that 2 days ago - how’s that for a quick turn around! Awesome job Danny, B.A would definitely approve.
Thanks for supplying the van Nathan, been waiting for this one. 👍🇬🇧
Paul Nelson - your welcome mate. That wasn’t all that I sent to Danny, so stay tuned!
I love it when a van comes together
Lol👍
I see what you did there LOL!
It looks so much better now than it did before you restored it! The wheels and the color scheme look great. Overall a fantastic looking model. Thanks for sharing this.
I have to say this. “I pity the fool that does not like this van”. (Mr T)

The A team van ........nice refresh on the old starting point.......Yes i remember the series well....
It looks stacks better. Nice epoxy fix, photoshop, paint & wheels! Nailed it!
Thanks for doing an A-Team van. I have continually asked for any of the car restoration people to do 1. It looks great
Tis a small world I have been looking for this van for years and managed to find one today at a flea market in UK for £0.25, It is in slightly worse condition as it has no stickers. 12 hours later I switch on my tablet and this is the first video on my suggestion page!happy days, great work on the van!
Lucky !
Very nice bit of video editing. The stripes look just right. Excellent result all round. Thanks.
I love it when a plan comes together!
Right front window could have used a bit of flash removal.
It would be cool to see the Ertl General Lee beside the A-Team Van and any others from that range that you have. Great job.
Excellent result, it looks amazing!!, I too am an 80’s child, I used to wait in anticipation for the next episode of the A Team, it used show at 5:35 pm every Saturday here in the UK if I remember correctly.
Started out looking beat and came out looking sweet.
Excellent work! Fun fact: The iconic Van belonged to and driven by BA in the A-Team series
I always thought the van was solid black and red growing up but. Couple weeks ago I started watching episodes and realized it was a 2 tone paint with red great job on this
The A-Team van is awesome looking my friend you did a great job. One of the most iconic vans in the world, and how sweet She is again my friend.
I am so glad you fixed the wheels on that van
It came out really nice. Excellent work making the decals . 👍👍😊
the van cannot be too perfect, how hard they rode it 😎👍 looks great
I love it when a plan comes together.
Wow wow wow ... given what you had to start with this looks awesome!!!!!!!
You've done the A-team van proud. Great job.
Danny, yet another fantastic redo of a classic ... Really like the silver, black and red tricolor paint scheme. Red wheels was a perfect capper to the resto. 5☆'s as always !!
Quality revamp on a classic ride, mate. I'm glad you also got rid of those old decals that said A-Team on them, lol.
Can't wait for the Mystery Machine!
Me as well!
Wow. Incredible result!
This restoration looks a lot better than the original. This is how the van should have looked.
Nice very very nice 👍.. I used to have two of these ertl a-team vans when I was a kid 😀..."Fool are you crazy?.. nobody drives my van but me"... lol 😀😀 😀
B. A. Baracus would be proud of this restoration. Now I need to see Templeton Peck a.k.a. Face Corvette!
I like the way the vibrations make the wheels spin as you're using the bur tool. I like to think it's B.A. Baracus trying to get away from the fool who's about to take apart his beloved van. :)
B.A. stands for bad attitude
The A Team Van is looking alot better looks just about right very well done .
Danny, This is AWESOME! It looks 110% better. My Sidekick on my show is Ecstatic over this one!!!
Awesome job I have actually two of them and they are in way better shape than what you started with mine. Bumpers are straight grills meet the front hood they were mine since childhood
This is my favorite to date used to have one of these as a kid, awesome finish
very nice, good job. I love it when a plan comes together.
Danny, your talent really does elevate these old Ertl cars to a far higher station. The quality is pretty obviously sub Maisto level, but with all your effort you manage to pull out as much quality as possible
Great work Danny, looks brilliant.
Always loved that show . Good job on the resto
GREAT RESTORATION, can imagine the gang exiting the van! LOL! 👍☺✌
Awesome job! The van looks great
Awesome video!! Both because I love the A-Team but also great because you showed us how you designed the decals on your computer!
I worked for Ertl back in the 90's for about two weeks as a temp.
You made the van the Ertl *should* have made. What an amazing job, A-team was one of my favorite shows growing up so it was nice seeing this done. Also, thank you for showing your process in PhotoShop for making the decals, very informative!

GMC Vandura an iconic van of The A-Team

In the UK The A-Team was in the Saturday family slot - 5:45 PM or around there.
In the USA it was originally broadcast on Tuesday nights at 8pm.
Awesome video. Turned out looking bada$$ . To the person that put the thumbs down you have to be jealous and a hater.

" What you do to my van, you crazy fool ", good job man
I'd like it when you added the red rim wheels now that what makes it look like a real A-TEAM Van and Mr T would be happy.
