      Julian Leal Does it have touch sensitivity? Meaning that does it play quietly if you press softly and does it play loudly when you press hard? Please answer. I'm desperate :) Thank you.

      Yes, and you can adjust the settings for several functions. From the Yamaha site you can download a free copy of the owner's manual. Right now they have great bundle deals going on. I'm just a musician and fan of Yamaha keyboards. :-)

      Hope you dont mind me asking, but how much did you buy it for? 325 pounds or 400 dollars is what its worth online, but in a local shop they sell it for an equivalent of 550 dollars! The heck.

      Yes it's the true, my instruments are p45 inside an amplifier for acustic instruments, Scheltler jam 150, but the sound is the piano...i love this piano, for a biginner it's very good, i use it in studio too, if you consider the price, in Italy 399 euros, the keyboard is very very good, i consider to you to go in a store of musical instruments and try it.....the sound without the amplfier is almost identical to the video but much lower volume but if you have a good amplification it's ok

    Bought one, had it for three weeks and really tried to like it but it didn't happen. Glad I had thirty days to return it. I wanted it mainly for piano sounds and it was no where as bright and crisp like all of the videos I've watched and listened to. The piano sounds were muddy and back it went... I realize it was an entry level board but I returned a DGX650 a few months earlier for the same reason, muted muddy piano samples...
    The search continues!

    • @sorcey6957
      @sorcey6957 8 лет назад +1

      Were you using rhe onboard speakers? This video records the sound directly and if you listen with good external speakers they are very good samples. The low end built in speakers gives it a muddy sound which is why I opt for external ones.

      Hold down the Grand Piano/Function Button and simultaneously hit the 'F' in the top octave to drop 1/2 step and hit it a second time for another 1/2 step. Release the function button and your P45 is a whole step down in pitch. To return to the default key use the Function + the F# in the top octave. Page 22 in the manual is the Quick Operation Guide and it explains all the hidden Functions. Good Luck!

      +obligatorynagger No unfortunately. It's just a volume for the internal tone generator. If you need more control try adding a Korg Nano Kontrol2BK Controller to your setup.At just $59 it's worth every penny!

    • @NStuffMusic
      @NStuffMusic  9 лет назад +6

      +Balog Szilárd The P45 is built with a graded hammer action keybed. A hammer action is what's in a real piano, and when they say graded they mean that the lower keys are heavier and more resistant than the upper keys which are less. That's just like a real piano. Play one and close your eyes. You will love it.

      +LD101 mixer While holding the Function button select the G6 key (the highest octave) to increase the pitch by one step. Repeat another step up and you are now transposed to D. To return to the default use the F#6 key. And to lower in pitch, use the F6 key. Good Luck.

    I'm just getting into recording and all and I own this keyboard, does anyone know how he recorded it exactly? Not trying to send data with the USB port. But my question really is, would it work if I plugged a mixer to this and then to my computer through the headphone jack of the keyboard?

  • @phykell

    The review, though comprehensive in demonstrating the features (appreciate the different styles which were in keeping with the instrument sound being demonstrated) seemed a bit low key (sorry) and not too enthusiastic but the P-45 is a really good, low-cost option. I bought it primarily to use late at night, using headphones, but it was the sound of the organ and the quality of the action which convinced me to buy it. I've heard that some people consider the action to be a little heavy but my main piano is a conventional grand so I found it to be just fine. I compared the P-45 with a number of more expensive models including from Yamaha themselves but it held its own against them and provided all that I needed without any of the bells and whistles.

    Does it have a headset plug that cuts the output to the speakers? Can I bypass the build in speakers and output to my own amp and monitors?
    Does it have a petal or will it work take a 3rd party petal? Also can I use it as a controller only with any midi out sound module using a midi to usb cable? Thanks

    • @NStuffMusic
      @NStuffMusic  9 лет назад

      +Mike Breler The P45 has a headphone/audio out and when something is plugged in, the internal speakers are turned off. It comes from Yamaha with a footswitch style pedal but Package B adds in a piano style universal pedal. The P45 has USB out only for transmitting midi info. It must be connected to a computer and then can be used as a controller for external modules or virtual instruments.

    • @AnnaTruongJade
      @AnnaTruongJade 9 лет назад

      +N Stuff Music Is there a way to enable the internal speakers again? I've been having that issue for a while now :(

    • @NStuffMusic
      @NStuffMusic  9 лет назад

      +Anna Truong Make sure you don't have anything plugged into the headphone jack as it switches off the speakers when used. Also, there is a factory reset that's done by turning on your P45 while holding down the highest C until the light stops flashing. If neither of these fixes the issue, bring it to a Yamaha service center. Good Luck!

    • @enfeu1672
      @enfeu1672 7 лет назад +2

      I would say yes, it's very easy and has enough keys to accommodate most beginner pieces. the only complaint I have is that the different instruments sound pretty bad, but apart from that it's solid.

    • @han5234

    I'm a beginner to everything that has to do with music but I've tried to learn a lot now that I want to start to play the piano, but there are still a few things I don't understand.
    What's Midi and how can I use it?
    What things can you do with the USB thing?
    And is it possible the use headphones? That's one of the things I HAVE to have if (when) I buy a piano
    And for anyone reading, have a nice rest of your day! :)

    For this demonstration, did you record the external speakers or did you plug into the keyboard to record the sound?
    I just got the p45, but the external speakers are dreadful compared to the headphone quality. Wondering if that's an issue with my particular keyboard or the p45s in general.

    how can I set its touching sensitivity?

    • @PaulaJBean
      @PaulaJBean 7 лет назад

      Using the FUNCTION key + certain piano keys. From the manual: "You can specify the Touch Sensitivity (how the sound responds to your playing strength). While holding down [GRAND PIANO/FUNCTION], press one of the A2 - C3 keys."
      A2 Fixed - The volume level does not change at all regardless of whether you play the keyboard soft or hard.
      A#2 Soft - The volume level does not change much when you play the keyboard soft or hard.
      B2 Medium - This is the standard piano touch response (default setting).
      C3 Hard - The volume level changes very widely from pianissimo to fortissimo to facilitate dynamic and dramatic expression. You have to hit the keys hard to produce a loud sound.
